Flytande modernitet, flytande bestånd : En ideologikritisk undersökning av beslutsprocesser på folkbiblioteken i Göteborg / Liquid Modernity, Floating Collections : a Critical Investigation Into a Decision-Making Process at the Library of GothenburgJensen, Johannes January 2021 (has links)
In 2011 the pubic libraries in Gothenburg transitioned to floating collections. The process coincided with the temporary closing and renovation of the City Library, and was made possible by an almost simultaneous, centralisation of the libraries’ media budget that, as a side effect, also centralised the decision-making. The way that the process was decided upon and implemented gave rise to controversy, both within the administration and outside. This study delves into the decision-making process, how floating collections were introduced and how thetransition played out during the years 2011-2014. With the minutes of meeting from the so called “Library Management Group”, documents produced by the administration during the process and interviews with people involved, the study maps the steps that made the transition possible and the decisions that made it an inflamed topic. With added perspectives from organisational theory and critique of ideology the study goes into the mechanistics of decision-making within the framework of liquid modernity. It indicates a culture of decision-making that has left the bureaucracy of solid modernity behind and that sees the library organisation and employees within it as an obstacle instead of as a resource. The decision and the technical solution of floating collections is best understood as an object of ideology. That is to say that it is treated as a solution in itself to the contradictions and conflict that exists within the organisation. As the contradictions remain the decision-making in effect gives rise to more conflicts rather than less. The question from an ideological standpoint however is if this any longer poses a problem for the leadership, since there will always be new reorganisations to implement. This is a two years master's thesis in Library and information science.

E-scooter Rider Detection System in Driving EnvironmentsApurv, Kumar 08 1900 (has links)
Indianapolis / E-scooters are ubiquitous and their number keeps escalating, increasing their interactions with other vehicles on the road. E-scooter riders have an atypical behavior that varies enormously from other vulnerable road users, creating new challenges for vehicle active safety systems and automated driving functionalities. The detection of e-scooter riders by other vehicles is the first step in taking care of the risks. This research presents a novel vision-based system to differentiate between e-scooter riders and regular pedestrians and a benchmark dataset for e-scooter riders in natural environments. An efficient system pipeline built using two existing state-of-the-art convolutional neural networks (CNN), You Only Look Once (YOLOv3) and MobileNetV2, performs detection of these vulnerable e-scooter riders.

Zákaznicky orientovaný marketing stavebního podniku / Importance and use of marketing toolsHájková, Kateřina January 2018 (has links)
This diploma thesis has several objectives. The first one is to analyse current situation of ABC s.r.o. in relation to marketing tools used by this company. The second objective is to compare mentioned tools with marketing tools used by a smaller enterprise. Other aims of this thesis are analysis of the use of marketing tools and analysis of their impact on consumers (customers) while using method of questionnaire (survey). The work is divided into two parts – theoretical and practical. Theoretical part explains essence of marketing, its evolution, basic principles and terms. Some of these methods are practically used in the second part of the work while analysing the situation of the company. The last part of the work includes marketing plan which should support company’s strategy and an evaluation of its impact on the cash flows of the enterprise and their effective use in marketing.

Efektivní tagování fotografií / Efficient Image TaggingProcházka, Václav January 2013 (has links)
This thesis investigates efficient manual image tagging approaches. It specifically focuses on organising images into clusters depending on their content, and thus on simplifying the selection of similar photos. Such selections may be efficiently tagged with common tags. The thesis investigates known techniques for visualisation of image collections according to the image content, together with dimensionality reduction methods. The most suitable methods are considered and evaluated. The thesis proposes a novel method for presenting image collections on 2D displays which combines a timeline with similarity grouping (Timeline projection). This method utilizes t-Distributed Stochastic Neighbour Embedding (t-SNE) for otpimally projecting groupings in high dimensional feature spaces onto the low-dimensional screen. Various modifications of t-SNE and ways to combine it with the timeline are discussed and chosen combination is implemented as a web interface and is qualitatively evaluated in a user study. Possible directions of further research on the subject are suggested.

Simulační model svozu odpadu pro Network Simulator 3 / Simulation model of waste collection for Network Simulator 3Kolaja, Lukáš January 2015 (has links)
The goal of this diploma thesis is create an application for route optimalization for waste collection which is one of the technologies of smart cities. At first was described issue of smart cities focused to waste collection. The thesis describes the real deployment of smart waste collection using sensor network and was also designed its own model of smart waste collection. It is also described graph theory and related genetic algorithms which is suitable for waste collection optimalization. On that basics an application was made in C/C++ language which using a genetic algorithm to compute best possible path in graph which represents a map where waste is collected. By input data to application is vector image of evaluated graph in SVG data format.

Analýza spokojenosti zákazníků s dopravní společností / The Analysis of Customers Satisfaction with a Transport CompanyLochmanová, Marcela January 2009 (has links)
The thesis deals with a survey of customer´s satisfaction with provided services. The theoretical part focuses on the explanation of different concepts, problems in marketing research and also on a questionnaire as a tool of collecting information. The practical part of the thesis analyses and presents the results from the questionnaire including recommendation and suggestions for improvements. They should be leading into increase in popularity of using public transport.
