Previous issue date: 2007-07-23 / The main purpose of this study is to investigate labor and laborers social
representations in the process of organizations production. Some specific purposes are
identified as follows: to show the influence of the laborer s culture on organization s
environment; to compare the different interpretations about the social representation of
political forces - employer/employees, laborers, union and educational professionals; and to
propose new relationship models between managers and workers. The following research
modalities are articulated in this study: theoretical, scientific and field research. The following
methods are articulated in this study: scientific, observational and deductive. A field research
involving managers and cooperators in the following institutions was carried out, in order to
characterize the study s proposal: BR Metals Fundi??es Ltda Barra do Pirai/RJ, Sindicato
dos Metal?rgicos de Barra do Pirai, (Iron industry union), Coordinators and professors at
Geraldo Di Biase University (UGB) Volta Redonda/RJ, Cooperators and teachers at Col?gio
Cenecista Marechal Rondon Mendes/RJ. The study showed that, through social
representations, changes in workers attitudes and behavior occur, bringing benefits to the
inter-relationship process in the socio-professional organizations environment. / O objetivo geral desta disserta??o consiste em investigar as representa??es sociais do trabalho
e do trabalhador no processo de produ??o das organiza??es. Alguns objetivos espec?ficos s?o
destacados a seguir: demonstrar a influ?ncia da cultura do trabalhador no ambiente das
organiza??es; confrontar as diversas interpreta??es sobre representa??o social das for?as
pol?ticas patr?o/empregados, trabalhadores, sindicato e profissionais da educa??o; e propor
novas modalidades de relacionamento entre gestores e trabalhadores. Neste trabalho s?o
articuladas as seguintes modalidades de pesquisa: te?rica, cient?fica e de campo. S?o
combinados os m?todos: cient?fico, observacional e dedutivo. Para caracteriza??o da proposta
de estudo, foi realizada uma pesquisa de campo com gestores e colaboradores das Institui??es
seguintes: BR Metals Fundi??es Ltda Barra do Pirai/RJ, Sindicato dos Metal?rgicos de
Barra do Pirai, Coordenadores e Professores do Centro Universit?rio Geraldo Di Biase (UGB)

Mendes/RJ. O Estudo demonstrou que, atrav?s das representa??es sociais, ocorrem mudan?as
de atitudes e comportamentos dos trabalhadores, trazendo benef?cios no processo de interrelacionamento
no ambiente s?cio-profissional das organiza??es.
