This thesis is focused on calculation of double casing condensing steam turbine with capacity 200 MW for petrochemical industry´s consumptions. Engine is projected for gas-steam cycle. It has one controlled extraction points placed between two bodies, two uncontrolled extraction points and axial output to air-cooling condenser. Balance scheme was made for 100% operation. Detail design is made only for ST/NT casing and it includes calculation of flowing part, selection of blade´s profile and its stress control. Rotor is checked for critical speed, safety rigid coupling is calculated and according to reaction forces journal bearing are designed. In the end regulation of turbo-set is discussed more precisely and there are calculation of temperature and pressure in uncontrolled extraction points during 80% and 60% operation. Thesis was written out according to Doosan Skoda Power´s instruction and with their cooperation.

Mazák, Tomáš January 2014 (has links)
The purpose of this thesis is to design a solution thermal power outlet of incinerator in hot water for the supply this town of heat. First and foremost are described problems landfill society and their implications on the environment. Next some alternatives of the waste and the burning in incinerators are described too. The thesis describes the history of the first incineration plant in the Czech Republic and its subsequent upgrading of the economical and environmentally friendly waste recovery and modernization of flue gas cleaning. Contribution of the work is then proposed as amendments to equipment and wiring for use of steam for the conversion heat output into hot water. This is essentially a calculation of steam water heaters at the end of the expansion of the steam and the related adjustments to the turbine blading. At the conclusion outlines the basic economic calculation and comparison of profits and investment associated with this implementation compared to implementation, which is now projected. It is a calculation of investment efficiency and its possible repayment due to higher profits from the sale of energy. This work serves only as a basis work for future technical realization and it outlines the appropriateness of this alteration.

Třináctý, Jan January 2015 (has links)
This thesis describes the design of a condensing steam turbine with reheating for fossil power plant. The turbine is a double parts. The first casing is formed by a simple HP casing. The second casing is combined MP-LP casing with axial outlet of steam into the water-cooled condenser. Feedwater regeneration system consists of two high-pressure heaters, the four low-pressure heaters and feed tank. In thesis is includes the calculation of heat balance and the draft of flow channel of HP and MP-LP casing. Next is a detailed calculation of MP-LP casing with includes calculation of flowing part, selection of blade´s profiles and its stress control. Rotor MP-LP casing is checked for torsion and computed size of the critical speed. Clutch is ispected by security check and draft radial bearings. Stress control casing is carried out according to the theory of thick shells. Work includes flow scheme for 100% and 75% performance. In the end is comparing the efficiency of the individual casing of the turbine with the work 3b together with the specific heat consumption. Work includes a longitudinal section of the MP-LP casing. This thesis has been developed in cooperation Škoda Power, Doosan.

Parní kondenzační turbína / Steam condensing turbine

Štěpánová, Lenka January 2017 (has links)
The aim of this Master’s thesis is to design a steam condensing turbine with three bleeds. First, a heat balance of the steam cycle is calculated, followed by thermodynamic and stress calculation of the turbine blading and design of a gland steam system and drain system. A price proposal is suggested for the given steam turbine. In the end, a design drawing of the steam turbine is constructed.

Characterization of a fatty acid elongase condensing enzyme by site-directed mutagenesis and biochemical analysis

Hernandez-Buquer, Selene January 2014 (has links)
Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) / Fatty acid elongation is the extension of de novo synthesized fatty acids through a series of four reactions analogous to those of fatty acid synthase. ELOs catalyze the first reaction in the elongation pathway through the condensation of an acyl group with a two carbon unit derived from malonyl-CoA. This study uses the condensing enzyme, EloA, from the cellular slime mold, Dictyostelium discoideum as a model for the family of ELOs. EloA has substrate specificity for monounsaturated and saturated C16 fatty acids and catalyzes the elongation of 16:1Δ9 to 18:1Δ11. Site-directed mutagenesis was used to change residues highly conserved among the ELO family to examine their potential role in the condensation reaction. Mutant EloAs were expressed in yeast and fatty acid methyl esters prepared from total cellular lipids were analyzed by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry. Sixteen out of twenty mutants had a decrease in 18:1Δ11 production when compared to the wild-type EloA with little to no activity observed in ten mutants, four mutants had within 20% of wild-type activity, and six mutants had 10-60% of wild-type activity. Immunoblot studies using anti-EloA serum were used to determine if the differences in elongation activity were related to changes in protein expression for each mutant. Analysis of immunoblots indicated that those mutants with little to no activity, with the exception of T130A and Q203A, had x comparable protein expression to the wild-type. Further research included the solubilization of the His6-ELoA fusion protein and preliminary work toward the isolation of the tagged protein and the use of a radiolabeled condensation assay to determine the activity of the eluted protein. Preliminary results indicated that the protein was solubilized but the eluted protein showed no activity when examined by a condensation assay. The work presented here contributes to a better understanding of the role of certain amino acid residues in the activity of EloA and serves as a stepping-stone for future EloA isolation work.

Velkoplošné systémy vytápění a chlazení / Large-area heating and cooling systems

Kohlová, Vendula January 2022 (has links)
The aim of the diploma thesis is to design heating and cooling in the office building and the showroom. The theoretical part deals with large-scale heating and cooling systems. The types of these systems and their advantages and disadvantages are described here. The practical part is devoted to the design of heating and cooling in the assigned office building and the showroom. In this part, two variants of the design are considered. The first variant considers the use of a heat pump as a source of heat and cold. In the second variant of the solution, a gas condensing boiler is used as a heat source and a chiller as a cold source. The experimental part deals with measuring the properties of one ceiling panel. The main task was to determine the cooling capacity of the ceiling panel.

Provozní účinnost plynových kotlů / Operational efficiency of gas boilers

Marčiš, Šimon January 2022 (has links)
This master’s thesis elaborates a design of water heating and heating system for a building of a rehabilitation center in Horný Hričov. The theoretical section describes operational efficiency of gas boilers and associated calculation methods. The experimental section covers measurements of condensing gas boiler at various temperatures of heating water conducted in university laboratory. Operational efficiency was then calculated using indirect method based on the measurement results. Subsequently, calculated values and values measured by an operational efficiency analyzer were compared. The comparison revealed minor deviations in operational efficiency values and different values of condensing heat utilization between the calculations and the analyzer results. The analytical section of the thesis consists of complex designs of two versions of the heating system and the water heating. The first design version uses condensing gas boilers as a heat source while the second version uses a water-air heat pump instead. The project section of the thesis is executed in the scope for a building permit and consists of a technical report and a design documentation.
