Exploring persons’ experiences of keeping in touch with loved ones who have died

Upright, Christine Margaret 04 September 2009 (has links)
This descriptive, exploratory study framed within Parse’s theory of humanbecoming, addressed the research question: What is the meaning of persons’ experiences of keeping in touch with their loved ones who have died. Seven persons described their experiences of keeping in touch with their loved ones who had died. Study themes in the language of the participants were treasured events and signs give rise to lasting comfort while constant yet changing bonds come with turmoil and tranquility amid unfolding strength and confidence. Interpreted in the language of the researcher, study findings were written as cherished ciphers and occurrences engender solace as enduring-shifting ties abide with ease unease amid fortifying expansion. Study themes were linked primarily with theoretical concepts of valuing imaging, connecting-separating, and transforming. Findings were discussed in light of relevant literature, and possibilities for nursing practice, education, policy, and further research were offered.

Modélisation de l'interaction entre le coussinet et le corps de bielle / Modeling of the interaction between the shell and the connecting rod body

Nguyễn, Thiết Lập 02 October 2013 (has links)
The connecting rod is not a single body but a multi-body solid. A non-appropriate screw tightening, coupled with the solid discontinuities, can lead to undesirable phenomena such as the rotation of the shell in its housing. Despite modern numerical tools, capable to predict the bearing EHD behaviour, there are still many damages related to cumulative microslip between the bearing shell and the conrod body. The difficulty of modelling the shell/conrod contact is mainly due to the interaction between the solids and the operating conditions. This study presents a solution to analyse this problem, by coupling an elastohydrodynamic (EHD) software (ACCEL) with a commercial software (ABAQUS) able to predict the frictional contact between the shell and the conrod. After a literature review of previous studies dedicated to the numerical and experimental modelling of connecting rod bearings, the first part is dedicated to a description of the numerical models used to predict the EHD behaviour of lubricated bearings. Follows the presentation of the techniques used to study the dry frictional contact mechanics. The next part presents the adopted solution used to couple the two software. The model was first validated in the case of a bearing submitted to a rotating load. Subsequently, several parametric calculations are presented. We were able to show the influence of the operating conditions (load diagram, velocity,...) as well as other characteristics of the conrod (friction coefficient, thickness of the shell, etc.) on the performances of the bearing and more exactly on the microslip between the shells and the conrod body.

Zážehový pístový spalovací motor s prodlouženou expanzí / Spark ignition piston engine with an extended expansion

Koštuřík, Vojtěch January 2018 (has links)
This thesis deals with the design of a spark-ignition internal combustion engine with extended expansion. It explains the principle of extended expansion using the Atkinson or Miller cycle and the possibilities of achieving it. In addition, a design study and engine cycle is carried out. Subsequently, the course of the kinematic quantities and forces in the mechanism is determined. At the end, the strength analysis of the connecting rod of the designed mechanism is performed.

Návrh sídelní struktury soudobého města v historickém kontextu. / Design of settlement structure of contemporary city in historical context.

Stoklásková, Kateřina January 2020 (has links)
Moravský Krumlov is a town on the Rokytná river in the Znojmo District in the South Moravian Region. The city with a unique panorama struggle with the separation of its individual districts and an insufficient network of pedestrian paths. The separation of the district is caused by the relief of the terrain, the river and its floodplain, as well as the part of industrial areas around the historic center. In my diploma thesis I deal with the space adjacent to the historical center, which I call the area under castle. It is bordered by the middle meander of the river Rokytná. At present, there are industrial areas that limit the movement of people between all parts of the city, prevent the use of space around the river and reduce the attractiveness of the city. In my design, I am creating a new residential development with quality public spaces. I also propose a network of pedestrian paths, which will provide good access to the area under castle and connections to other parts of the city. The project supports the concentration of inhabitants near the historic center and naturally unites the city into one functioning whole.

Čtyřválcový řadový zážehový letecký motor / Four-cylinder in-line gasoline aircraft engine

Kučera, Ondřej January 2021 (has links)
The thesis deals with the structural design of a steel connecting rod for the aircraft engine Walter Mikron III, which is currently still manufactured and developed by company PARMA-TECHNIK, s.r.o. The proposed connecting rod would replace the current duralumin connecting rod. The work also contains a strength analysis of the designed component, in which it was aimed to verify the stress on the connecting rod, based on which the fatigue safety factor was performed. This is crucial for dynamically stressed parts of internal combustion engines. Furthermore, was investigated the effect of the change of the connecting rod on the torsional vibration of the crank mechanism. For this purpose, was built a discrete torsion model. The output of the whole work is the drawing documentation of the new connecting rod, meeting the requirements for application in an aircraft engine.

Deformačně-napjatostní analýza ojnice spalovacího motoru pomocí MKP / Stress and strain analysis of connecting rod in combustion engine using FEM

Biječek, Tomáš January 2008 (has links)
In this diploma thesis is completed the FEM analysis of connecting rod in combustion engine Briggs & Stratton of the garden lawnmower. Within the frame of computing in the FEM system ANSYS Workbench is solved static structural strein and stress analysis, buckling analysis a fatigue also. The boundary conditions for FEM computing come out from the kinematic and dynamic analysis of the crank-slider mechanism in combustion engine. The 3-D models of the crank-slider mechanism are created in parametric SolidWorks modeller. Own construction variants of the connecting rod based on results of FEM analysis are also designed.
