This study aimed to get a deeper understanding of how people interact within groups on social media that originally stems from a hashtag-activistic campaign. The study was conducted on an empirically selected group using the hashtag #Trashtag on Facebook. #Trashtag is a hashtag used when picking up garbage in order to document pictures of ones work on social media. This study attempts to find out how the interaction within this group works and what makes people engage in the matter. This study is conducted through content- and text analysis as well as ethnographic observation online. The observation method is also the means in which the data for this study is collected. The following three theories is used as the theoretical framework for this study, participatory culture, making is connecting and uses and gratification alongside with an hermeneutic perspective. The main results for this study was found by observing 45 publications from one Facebook group with the mission to clean up a beach in Ireland. The observation showed that publications posted in the group varied between subjects concerning the constant litter and contamination on the beach too publications designed to inform about possible or direct causes of the problem. The main result of this study was an observation that a recurring way of motivating the group members to participate in the Facebook group was through emotionally charged content designed to provoke some kind of reaction. The engagement however is driven by positiveness and unconditional encouragement between the participants, negative vibes are not answered upon. Furthermore the study found that the urge to participate and contribute gives people a satisfactory feeling of achievement. Therefore activist groups like the one being researched in this study are important not just for the environment itself but also for the individual. The presented material in this study could be used for further research within this subject.

Proměny hodnot předkládaných dětem v nedělních pořadech pro děti a mládež ve vysílání České televize od 80. let 20.století po současnost / Changes of the values presented to children in Sunday's programs for children and youth in the Czech television broadcasting from 80's 20th century to the presentMannová, Jaroslava January 2015 (has links)
The master's thesis deals with the changes of values presented in the connecting studio entries of Sundays morning's programmes for children and the youth of the broadcasting of the Czechoslovak and Czech Television from the 1980's up to present, i.e. 2015. It refers to the programmes such as Studio Kamarád, Studio Rosa, Jůhele neděle, Hřiště 7 etc. The 30-year long analysed period is divided into the three time periods - 1980s (1980-1989), 1990's (1990-1999) and the 21st century (2000-2015). The results of the research are compared in the last chapter of the master's thesis. Also, the changes of the selected values groups are described (for example nature and environment, healthy lifestyle etc.). The master's thesis also secondarily deals with how the names, anchor-men and performing puppets of the programmes and the design of the studio have changed.

Uma descrição das aplicações de conexão em K-teoria de C*-álgebras usando cones / A description of the connecting maps in K-theory for C*-algebras using conesMaekawa, Renata Akemi 04 April 2014 (has links)
If f: B A is a map between the C*-algebras A and B, the mapping cone is the set of pairs (b,g) in the direct sum of B and CA such that f(b) = g(0), where CA is the cone of A. In this work, we study the functor determined by the assignment of the exact sequence 0 SA Cf B 0 to each *-homomorphism f: B -> A, and we show that this functor is exact. We characterize the connecting maps associated with the short exact sequence 0 SA Cf B 0 and we prove that its index map is tA K1(f) and that its exponential map is bA K0(f), where tA is the isomorphism between K1(A) and K0(SA), and bA is the Bott map. Finally, using that every short exact sequence of C*-algebras can be seen as 0 Ker f B (f ) A 0, we prove that the connecting maps, d1 and d0, associated with a short exact sequence are given by dn = Kn+1(j)-1 Kn+1(i) hn, where j is the inclusion of f\'s kernel in Cf, i is the inclusion of the suspension SA in Cf, hn = bA e h1 = tA .

Previous issue date: 2011-10-11 / The objective of this work is making a critical analysis of the Divine Office of
Communities, which is a proposal for the Liturgy of the Hours inculturated.
The Divine Office of Communities, for over two decades of existence, has been a
reference to communal prayer, which unites the richness of the ancient tradition of prayer of
the Hours of the Church and the faith experiences of ecclesial communities, in dialogue with
popular piety.
The background motivation of this work is the realization of the need for a deeper
critical analysis of the Divine Office of Communities.
Specifying: the first part, offers an overview of the Divine Office of Communities,
remembers its history, presents briefly the Hours of Office, its structure and elements,
gestures and symbolic actions, music, ministries in the celebration of the craft and elements of
inculturation found therein.
The second part, which is the body of work consists of two phases: the description of
instrumental analysis and application of this instrumental.
The third part is devoted to the practice of the Divine Office of the Communities,
their celebratory practice: some reports are presented to communities, groups and many
people who celebrate this Office in the community or pray in private.
We conclude that, truly, the Divine Office of Communities is a valuable proposal for
Liturgy of the Hours inculturated and deserve to be approved by CNBB and recognized by the
Apostolic See, as an alternative book Liturgy of the Hours for the people / O objetivo do presente trabalho é fazer a análise crítica do Ofício Divino das Comunidades,
A primeira publicação deste livro litúrgico
O referencial teórico do primeiro momento é

Backchanneling – maintaining real-time online conversations alongside the primary group activity or live spoken remarks – is a growing part of our mobile-enhanced, networked world. Backchanneling is now prominent in many contexts, including presidential debates, conferences, and classrooms. As such, backchanneling offers possibilities and challenges for communication scholars, including carnival, collaboration, bricolage, and performance. This panel will present various theories and practices of backchanneling and encourages backchanneling from audience members through the Twitter hashtag #csca14bc.

The experience of hope for informal caregivers of palliative home care patients : a grounded theory explorationHoltslander, Lorraine Fay 17 November 2004
The purpose of this study was to explore the processes of hope in informal caregivers of palliative patients. Interviews were conducted with caregivers who were living with and currently providing care to a palliative patient at home. Saturation was reached with 10 caregivers, five females and five males, from 2 cities in Saskatchewan, Canada.
The design of this qualitative study was Glasers (2001) grounded theory. Broad, unstructured face to face audio taped interviews were conducted in the participants homes. Interviews were transcribed verbatim and analyzed using constant-comparative method of analysis in order to identify the main concern of the participants related to hope, and the basic social processes used to resolve that concern.
Eroding hope was the main concern relating to hope during caregiving for a palliative patient. Eroding hope was a result of bad days, negative messages, and experiences with the health care system. The participants deal with eroding hope by using the basic social process of hanging on to hope. Hanging on to hope has 4 sub-processes: a)doing what you have to do, b)living in the moment, c)staying positive, and d)writing your own story. The support of friends, family, and health care professionals and connecting with something bigger and stronger were sub-processes of hanging on to hope that together directly affect the other sub-processes.
The findings of this study have direct application for the care and support of informal caregivers providing palliative care at home, as a basis for assessment and interventions that will assist caregivers to hang on to hope. Nurses and other health care professionals need to recognize and value the experience of hope for caregivers by addressing, teaching, and reinforcing the sub-processes and ways of hanging on to hope into their practice.

Probing into the Jurisdiction and the Judgment Basis of Cross-strait Matrimony Cases by Conflict Law TheoryKuan, An-Lu 24 August 2005 (has links)
The influence of the cross-strait matrimony is not only to the parties theirselves, but also to the problems of complexsive population policy, the allocation of internal social resources, safeguard against noational interests, the consideration of the safety of national defense and foreigners treatment. If the cross-strait matrimony asise disputes and gets into the litigation procedure, the court do not deal with it appropriately, it will cause the damage of parties¡¦ rights and interests, the influence of the mutually preferential relationship of cross-strait judicial systems and deteriorate relationship of Cross-Strait. For this reason, it is very important to solve the cross-strait matrimony cases properly.
The law of the cross-strait matrimony cases is not complete, the court is not clearly how to probe into and solve problems in the cross-strait matrimony cases. By the viewpoints of trail practice and conflict of laws, the nature of the cross-strait matrimony cases is equivalent to the generally foreign matrimony cases what is called international identity disputes, and the court confronts the problems of the cross-strait matrimony cases similarly to international identity disputes. The theories, legislative and precendent of conflict of laws of international identity disputes is also applicable to the cross-strait matrimony cases, therefore, it will contribute to solve the problems.
This article introduces legislatives of every nation, international convention and judicial practice, from the viewpoints of legislative policy and trial practice to analyze the court in Taiwan district how to decide the problems of the delimintation of jurisdiction and the conflict of laws of the cross-strait matrimony cases.

Serving Life: Creating Community in a Resort TownBrennan, Derek 26 November 2010 (has links)
This thesis studies how architecture and planning influence community living through relationships between public spaces, housing, and circulation that focus on
stimulating social activities for the betterment of service industry workers’ way of life. Our built environment can not only connect people to one another or to activities or to places, but it can also isolate people. For the service-based populace of Lake Louise, Alberta, isolation is a recurring factor in various aspects of their lives. The design attempts to establish connections between the people and the community, to eradicate the barriers that fragment the community without neglecting the necessity of refuge for the individual.
