A pesquisa situa-se no campo de estudos de História, Política e Educação tendo como temática a Constituinte Escolar no Rio Grande do Sul, movimento da História recente, analisando a gestão da educação através de uma política setorial da gestão Olívio Dutra (1999-2002). A Constituinte Escolar visava a construção da escola democrática e popular no Estado, que pretendia romper com o modelo de política pública educacional vigente, cuja finalidade era a definição de princípios e diretrizes da educação para a rede estadual de ensino. A pesquisa tem como objetivo investigar a Constituinte Escolar no Instituto Estadual de Educação Professor Pedro Schneider (Pedrinho) em São Leopoldo/RS, como política pública, na tentativa de implementar a escola democrática como espaço de formação da cidadania, numa sociedade neoliberal. The research situates itself in the field of History, Politics and Education and its theme is the Constituent of the School in Rio Grande do Sul State, a movement of the recent History, and it analyses the management of education through the sectorial politics of the administration Olívio Dutra (1999-2002).
