Servi?o de atendimento m?vel de urg?ncia (SAMU) e a assist?ncia ?s urg?ncias psiqui?tricas

Made available in DSpace on 2014-12-17T14:46:45Z (GMT). No. of bitstreams: 1 DiegoB_DISSERT.pdf: 2006113 bytes, checksum: 24caddf7e16ff7f9db8fd37296acff67 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2010-11-08 / The objective of this work which is characterized as an applied research, with a qualitative exploratory approach and has case study character has been the analysis of the conceptions and dealings of health professionals of SAMU in Natal RN about the attendance of psychiatric urgencies. The information was collected between the months of March and April of 2010, by means of semi-structured interviews, performed with 24 health professionals integrating of SAMU-Natal as well as the usage of direct observation technique, performed in the institution's medical regulation room. Both the number of professionals involved in the interviews and the bringing about of the observations, were determined by saturation methods in qualitative research's information collecting. The interviews and observations were transcribed and submitted to contents analysis technique , more specifically, to thematic analysis, which made possible to reach the deepest levels, that go beyond what has simply been manifest in the speech of the interviewed, getting to the relations among the categories and social structures of the issue of the research. Keeping this in mind, three analysis categories have been built, namely: conceptions and concepts of psychiatric urgencies shared by health professionals in SAMU-Natal; attendances to psychiatric urgencies in SAMU-Natal; and the Brazilian Psychiatric Reformation under the view of the SAMU-Natal's health professionals. Reflection about the analyzed information revealed discussions pertaining to the stigma and prejudice on mental illness, and also, pointed out to some hindrances which impair the attendance to individuals in mental suffering in SAMU-Natal. The interviewed health professionals' conceptions on the individual in psychical crisis involve concepts of unpredictability, aggressiveness and risk, stigmatizing elements and historically associated to the social hazard ideology and need for mentally sicks' segregation. The predominance of these conceptions, seen in health professionals speech, had identifiable reflexes on assistance to psychiatric demands performed by SAMU-Natal, namely: indiscriminate request for military police's presence during psychic crisis intervention, neglect about occasions that involve mental health patients, as well as repetitive assisting practice directed on physical contention, and transportation to psychiatric hospital. Associated to it, the professionals have shown distorted and reductionist understanding about Brazilian Psychiatric Reformation, and, in the majority, haven't lent credibility to present model of attention to mental health, based on psycho-social treatment, pointing their speech to a need for psychiatric patient's internment. In this sense, we notice that the hospital-centered and excluding model conceived by classical psychiatry still remains alive in these health professionals' mentality as a reference to psychiatric urgency's assistance. Therefore, the research revealed a sequence of elements, that make us think about the challenges that health sector and society must face to realize Brazilian Psychiatric Reformation's principles and guidelines / O objetivo desse trabalho, caracterizado como uma pesquisa aplicada, de abordagem qualitativa, explorat?ria e do tipo estudo de caso, foi analisar as concep??es e pr?ticas dos profissionais de sa?de do SAMU de Natal-RN sobre o atendimento ?s urg?ncias psiqui?tricas.

Domácí násilí a jeho řešení ve společnosti / Domestic violence and its solution in society

BUDAŘOVÁ, Ludmila January 2008 (has links)
This dissertation can be viewed as a domestic violence issue guide. Its theoretical part is structured into three sections. The first one clarifies the basic terms used in the domestic violence-related literature and acquaints readers with individual forms, reasons, consequences and the most often myths associated with the domestic violence. Since certain changes have occurred in the attitude towards the domestic violence lately, especially due to the legal system change, the second part makes reference to, among others, the changes the new legislation have brought. This section also features the international institutions and organizations protecting human rights. The third section of the dissertation focuses on the ways of how to solve domestic violence issue to help the victims, and on interdisciplinary cooperation among all units involved, as well as, on the importance of expert aid towards ravishers. The practical part is devoted to the research itself. The goal of the dissertation was to figure out to what extent both sexes are informed on the domestic violence issue and to map the needs of experts dealing with the domestic violence. To achieve the first goal of the thesis, the quantitative public research was conducted. As the data collection technique the questionnaire method was used. The qualitative research was performed to meet the second goal of the dissertation with semi-standardized interviews as the data collection technique. During this phase, the employees of intervention centres or other facilities giving assistance to the domestic violence victims were interviewed. The research findings including comments are included in the ``Results`` and ``Discussion`` chapters. The Annex to this thesis lists main organizations providing aid in the domestic violence events and includes the contact data of all Intervention Centres in the Czech Republic. Also included is the Safety Plan, designed for individuals endangered by the domestic violence. This dissertation can be of use not only for the people affected by the domestic violence, but also for employees working in organizations dealing with this issue, as well as, for other people who are not indifferent to this issue.

Psychosociální poradenství pro účastníky dopravních nehod v Českých Budějovicích / Psychosocial counselling for the participants of traffic accidents in České Budějovice

UHŘÍČEK, Jan January 2008 (has links)
This dissertation focuses on the field of psychosocial counselling intended for the people involved in traffic accidents. Traffic accidents often result in considerable whole-society damages and significant reduction in the life quality of affected individuals or their relatives. Traffic accidents may often represent nerve-racking, traumatic events which significantly go beyond the scope of common human experience. People involved in traffic accidents may suffer from mental problems which might impair an area of their social functioning. As a result, traffic accidents have significant impact not only to the lives of persons directly involved, but also to their relatives. Victims´ self-help may fail and, without the expert intervention, may lead to the whole-life misery. One of possible ways of how to help the people involved in the traffic accident is the psychosocial counselling which is the subject of this dissertation. This thesis, among others, aims to analyse the offer of psychosocial consulting services intended for traffic accident participants in the town of České Budějovice. To this end, the combination of qualitative and quantitative data collection techniques, questionnaire survey of experts and organizations and semi-standardized interviews with experts operating in České Budějovice were carried out. Other goals of the thesis included mapping of public awareness concerning the possible utilization of psychosocial counselling for traffic accident participants in České Budějovice, as well as, mapping the interest in using such services on the public{\crq}s part in this town. A public questionnaire survey was performed to reach these objectives. The findings revealed that there is a public demand for services of an organization providing the people involved in traffic accidents with psychosocial counselling. The public awareness of the possibility of using psychosocial counselling in this area, however, proved to be low in České Budějovice. The survey has also shown that the offer of psychosocial counselling focused on traffic accident participants does exist in this town. The dissertation may contribute to higher awareness of not only the professional employees who provide the assistance (psychologists, social workers, non-profit organization employees, physicians, police officers, fire fighters), students of humanities and volunteers involved in giving psychosocial assistance to the victims of disasters, but also of those people involved in traffic accidents whom anyone of us may become.

Zajištění psychologické pomoci a krizové intervence civilnímu obyvatelstvu při mimořádné události / Providing psychological aid and crisis intervention for the civilian population during an emergency situation

ŠČERBOVÁ, Nikola January 2010 (has links)
This diploma thesis bears the title: Providing psychological aid and crisis intervention for the civilian population during an emergency situation. The theoretical part aims to survey the development and present state of psychosocial aid system in the Czech Republic, including individual subjects and organisations that provide help in places affected. The research is based on qualitative and quantitative surveys. The qualitative part was realised by means of a non-structured interview with a defined clinical psychologist and the main psychologist of the Fire Rescue Service of the Region of Karlovy Vary. I have fulfilled the objectives of my thesis in the following way: 1. to describe the structure and functionality of the psychological intervention system, 2. to assess experts{\crq} readiness to provide aid to victims of an emergency situation. The quantitative survey method included collecting data from the randomly chosen samples of 150 citizens who thus expressed their opinions of the questions of crisis intervention and psychological aid, from their own point of view. The research was conducted in the Region of Karlovy Vary. The structure of the psychosocial aid system came into being in 1997, when these questions started to be given more attention both from state authorities and non-profit-organisations, and commercial institutions. The fundamental state body that manages and coordinates the psychosocial aid system is the Interior Ministry, which has a post-traumatic intervention care system, elaborated in relation to citizens affected and in relation to intervening units, and that cooperates with the Integrated Rescue System (IZS) and foreign subjects. The results of the questionnaire survey are an integral part of my research. The civilian population has basic information about psychological aid, which they assess as an important factor for mastering mentally demanding situations. This diploma thesis is structured in such a way that provides the reader with a complex overview of the current state of psychosocial aid. I also aim, by means of my thesis, to point out the fact that there is no professional post-traumatic care in our health care system.

Spousal rape : an integration approach to pastoral counselling

Glanville, J.A. (James Arthur) 18 March 2013 (has links)
Although the number of rapes in South Africa is increasing, there are limited resources to which women can turn in their time of need. This is especially true with regard to spousal rape. The lack of supportive interventions exacerbates the posttraumatic stress women experience due to rape. In order to address this concern, this research seeks to identify and evaluate, by means of questionnaires, various therapy methods which are utilised by pastoral counsellors as well as secular service providers within South Africa. Both Christian women and women who are not affiliated with the Christian religion who have in some way sought assistance from the church and who have experienced spousal rape related posttraumatic stress are interviewed and the results are utilized to propose an alternative approach to pastoral counselling with persons who suffer from rape-related posttraumatic stress. Gender sensitivity is crucial to this approach. This thesis consists of seven chapters. In Chapter 1, Spousal Rape – a challenge for pastoral counselling, explains the motivation for the thesis and gives the research framework. Chapter 2 explores the phenomenon of rape, considering stranger, acquaintance, and spousal rapes. Chapter 3 develops the phenomenon of traumatic stress, particularly as it relates to spousal rape, and Chapter 4 covers the questionnaires returned, and interviews of spousal rape victims. The relevance of spirituality is covered in Chapter 5, and in Chapter 6, a counselling model is proposed with regard to the counselling of spousal rape victims. Chapter 7 deals with the transformation and emotional healing of these victims. There are ten appendixes connected, some containing information, consent and interview questionnaires used with the participants and the remainder contain information such as the Sexual Offences Bill, and DSM-IV diagnostic criteria as they relate to this thesis. / Thesis (PhD)--University of Pretoria, 2012. / Practical Theology / unrestricted
