Battery Electric Vehicle as an environmental friendly transportation alternative has already emerged as well as fade out of the market twice. It has been reintroduced along with the increasing concern about the environment issue. This recent diffusion is surrounded by lots of dynamic changes and uncertainties. However, most current studies focus on political, financial as well as infrastructure factors but neglect factors like the technology especially how people perceived it. Therefore, this study mainly research into how the technology development impact on the diffusion of battery electric vehicle.To achieve this aim, a model based study was conducted targeting Swedish electric vehicle market. In the research, customers are considered to be the target objective because they are the one  who perceive the technology and make decision for adoption directly. In order to know the relationship between them, researches have been conducted through qualitative and quantitative approach. Empirical work including interviews and survey were conducted through tripartite aspect to investigate the customer needs and related technology. The investigation indicates the environmentally friendly performance is the key driving force perceived by the early adopters. Meanwhile, range issue, total cost of ownership and safety & technology reliability are identified as the top three critical concerns that  hold back customer purchasing decision. A modified classic model for the innovation diffusion has been proposed which is used to evaluate the technology’s perception based on historical data. Two BEV- related technologies were chosen as examples to prove and illustrate the relationship between technology development and electric vehicle diffusion.The results showed that the BEV-related technologies, which have potential ability to address critical customer demand, are able to impact on the customer adoption positively through valid perception by customer. Taking technology development and perception into consideration, the diffusion process should be accelerated to some extent. Technologies which can be more easily perceived tend to have more impact in the diffusion process. / Batteridrivna elektriska fordon(BEV) som ett miljövänligt transportalternativ redan har dykt upp, liksom försvunnit från marknaden två gånger. Det har återinförts tillsammans med den ökande oron för miljöfrågan. Denna nya diffusion är omgiven av dynamiska förändringar och osäkerheter. Men de flesta av dagens studier fokuserar på politiska, ekonomiska och infrastrukturella faktorer, men försummar faktorer relaterat till tekniken framför allt hur människor uppfattar det. Därför undersökte denna studie främst hur den tekniska utvecklingen påverkar spridningen av batteridrivna fordon.För att uppnå detta syfte, gjordes en modell baserad kring en studie av den svenska elbilsmarknaden. I forskningen anses kunderna vara målet målgruppen eftersom de är de som uppfattar tekniken och tar beslut om införandet direkt. För att veta förhållandet mellan dem, har kvalitativa och kvantitativa undersökningar genomförts. Empiriskt arbete inklusive intervjuer och undersökningen genomfördes genom tre olika aspekter för att undersöka kundernas behov och relaterad teknik. Undersökningen visar att miljövänlig prestanda är den viktigaste drivkraften som uppfattas av early adopters. Samtidigt har räckviddsproblematiken, totala ägandekostnaden och tillförlitlighet i säkerhet och teknologi identifierats som de tre kritiska problemen som tillbakahåller kunden från ett köpbeslut. En modifierad klassisk modell för innovationsspridning har föreslagits som används för att utvärdera teknikens uppfattning baserad på historiska data. Två BEV-relaterade teknologier valdes som exempel för att bevisa och illustrera förhållandet mellan teknikutveckling och elbilsdiffusion.Resultaten visade att BEV-relaterad teknologi, som har potential förmåga att ta itu med den kritiska efterfrågan från kunderna, kan påverka kundacceptans positivt genom giltig uppfattning av kunden. Om teknikutveckling och uppfattning beaktas, bör diffusionsprocessen påskyndas i viss utsträckning. Teknik som lättare kan uppfattas tenderar att ha mer genomslag i diffusionsprocessen.

An Alternative Path to Customer Analysis : A qualitative case study with the aim to investigate the paradigm of segmentation and an alternative path to enhanced customer analysis

Problem: The concept of marketing segmentation was introduced over 60 years ago and have been a central element in the process of conducting customer analysis since then. However, it has barely been criticized. Consequently, companies have constructed their communication strategies upon segmentation criteria’s with the belief of it being the most effective alternative. As digitalization has changed the way in which information is retrieved and the way people communicate with one another, the customer analysis process should be adapted accordingly.   Purpose: This study aimed to explore how customer analysis is performed by professionals in the marketing field today and identify which factors professionals find essential when communicating with their target audience.   Method: To fulfil the purpose of this research and answer the research questions, a qualitative research approach with a case study was conducted. Semi-structured interviews with eight Swedish professionals in the field of marketing was held in the empirical data collection process.   Conclusion:   The analysis of the interviews showed that there is an understanding of new perspectives when conducting customer analysis among professionals today. Furthermore, acknowledgments were made that for marketing communication to be effective, changes in customer demand and individuals life context should be taken into account. Based on these results, we conclude that segmentation criteria’s might be less relevant when identifying prospects and communicating with target audiences today. Moreover, companies should become familiar with their customer's preparatory understandings, as this premise could be used as a complement to segmentation when identifying prospects and performing effective marketing communication.

<p><strong>Syfte:</strong> Syftet med denna studie är att kartlägga kundernas köpbeteenden i en inredningsbutik, Divas Boning och att diskutera hur dessa kan påverkas och bidra till ökad konsumtionsnivå hos kunderna.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Metod: </strong>Vi har valt att använda oss av både en kvalitativ metod i form av en intervju samt en kvantitativ metod i form av en enkät. Dessa presenteras var och en för sig i empirikapitlet. Analyser har sedan gjorts också uppdelat i kvantitativ- och kvalitativ data.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Resultat & slutsats: </strong>Vår studie visar att det är av stor vikt att Divas Boning tydligt positionera sig och arbetar med sina kundrelationer. Vår studie visar även att valet av sortiment i hög grad påverkar hur butiken uppfattas och att det är viktigt att som mindre inredningsbutik inte bara se liknande butiker som konkurrenter utan även större kedjor. </p><p> </p><p><strong>Förslag till fortsatt forskning:</strong> Som fortsatt forskning skulle vi finna det intressant och lärorikt att studera branschen ur ett vidare perspektiv och göra en grundlig konkurrensanalys av Divas Bonings alla konkurrenter. The theoretical part contains definitions of key terms, general structure of a business plan and principles of methods applied in the second part. Practical part is the actual business plan, where are designed specific programs in order to increase occupancy of courts during work days. Practical framework also includes analysis of target customers, analysis of a competition, marketing and financial plan.

The goals of my thesis are to present the researched company an analysis of a German market in a speed-reading industry, to discuss the correctness of company's hypotheses about the German market compared to the German reality, and to suggest a marketing strategy for the company's market entry supporting the selected market entry mode. In the first part, the theoretical section is introduced in which motives for foreign entry, followed by models of an environment analysis, of entry modes and of a customer analysis are described. These models are further used in the second part in which specifically speed-reading market in Germany and a German customer are analyzed. Based on the analyses, the market entry mode of the company is suggested, followed by the evaluation of the previously defined hypotheses regarding a German customer and a product, and, lastly, the next steps which the company should execute are proposed.

中國經濟崛起後,台灣製造業者面臨比以往更激烈的競爭,急需提升自身能力,為了能有效對抗複雜、變化快速的環境,企業應從既有的競爭優勢建立和延伸,而台灣的經濟自由以及完善的製造業產能,是製造業競爭力提升的關鍵。在產能規劃時容易因為客戶影響而產生產能平滑化議題,其中以季節性產品製造商為最,且現今產品生命週期縮短及客戶喜好改變快速,導致市場不確定性提高,企業的產能運用越來越容易受客戶需求之影響,因此了解既有客戶資訊並將其納入產能平滑化策略之考量因素,是現今台灣季節性產品製造商發展優勢的重要議題。然而目前客戶分析之應用大多在銷售領域,結合產能規劃策略的研究及個案都相當不足,若能建立兩者結合之研究分析及個案討論,會更有助於未來提升台灣製造業競爭力之研究,因此本研究探討客戶分析對產能平滑化策略之影響。 本研究利用個案研究法分析世界第四大冷氣壓縮機製造商-瑞智精密公司,探討其如何在2011年至2014年期間將客戶分析導入產能規劃策略,並透過內部銷售數據、瑞智專業顧問訪談以及第三機構之研究/學術資料三個資料來源進行三角檢定,評估其在淡季時是否有助增加銷售量;旺季時是否可以增加產量或是發展其他產能分配策略。 本研究以實務資料驗證結合客戶分析之產能平滑化策略是否具備實質效益,研究發現導入客戶分析之產能平滑化策略確實縮小了淡旺季差異,也可發展出客戶評價機制方案進行旺季產能分配策略,而將客戶分析和客戶評價機制導入產能規劃步驟,可以讓客戶資訊從銷售部門流通至生產部門,化解兩者之間目標不同的衝突,使企業內部能更有效率地溝通合作,迅速反應客戶需求創造競爭力。 / After the rising of economy in China, the manufacturers in Taiwan are facing fierce horizontal competition. In order to secure their leading position and competitiveness in the market, Taiwanese manufacturers have to enhance and develop their current competitive advantages to further respond to the complicated and volatile economic environment quickly. Priority should be given to enhance the capacity planning as the economic freedom and sufficient manufacturing capacity are two main factors making the manufacturers to be competitive and successful in Taiwan. However, the capacity planning is easily influenced by the customers, which caused an issue called “Production Smoothing”. The problem is obvious and complicated for those seasonal product manufacturers. Moreover, the shorter product lifecycle and rapidly changing customer preferences contribute to the uncertainty in the market. As a result, the capacity planning is now more susceptible to be affected by customers’ needs. That is why it is very critical for the manufacturers to understand their customers’ needs and further to consider the needs in their company’s capacity plans. However, the current case study of customer analysis usually focuses on the field of marketing instead of on the capacity planning. It would be great if we could combine the capacity planning and marketing to the case discussion and analysis, further to help develop the research on the competitiveness of Taiwanese manufacturers. Therefore, the object of this article is to analyze how the customer analysis can bring an impact to the company’s capacity smoothing strategy. This case study is to analyze Rechi Precision Company, the world's fourth largest air conditioner compressor manufacturers, discussing how they take customer analysis into consideration when they develop the capacity strategy from 2011 to 2014. By analyzing internal sales data, interviewing with the internal consultants in Rechi, and referring research from the third institutions, we access whether the combination of customer analysis and capacity planning could help increase the sales during the low season and increase the capacity or develop other capacity allocation strategy during the peak season. According to the research results, the combination can decrease sales difference between the peak season and the low season. It can also help develop customer evaluation mechanism to determine capacity allocation. In addition, in order to respond to customers’ needs quickly, the manufacturers should integrate customer analysis and customer evaluation mechanism into capacity planning steps, which can soften the conflicts between the sales and production department. All of these efforts could make the whole company communicate and cooperate with each other more efficient.
