Kariéry formované Sametovou revolucí: Orálně-historická analýza individuálních svědectví. / Careers Precipitated and Shaped by the Velvet Revolution: An Oral-Historical Analysis of lndividuals

Lizatović, Yvetta January 2021 (has links)
The work examines and compares personal values, behavioural patterns, personal motivation and career choices of six individuals from the Velvet Revolution period using interviews obtained by the oral-historical method. The main aim is to answer the question where people who helped transform one regime into another had come from and how they coped with tasks they could not have been prepared for in advance. In late 1989, the Communist regime in Czechoslovakia collapsed. One way of running the society was quickly replaced by another, but the society did not collapse, and life went pretty smoothly on. All of a sudden, many opportunities opened up as well as many responsibilities to generations of people who could not have been prepared to take either of them. Yet at least some of them did so. How did they manage? Keywords Czechoslovak society 1989-1992, career decision-making, Velvet revolution of 1989, network of social acquaintances, transformation of society

Český kulturní diskurs v období třetí Československé republiky / Czech cultural discourse in the Third Czechoslovak Republic

Dudr, Karel January 2022 (has links)
Czech cultural discourse in the Third Czechoslovak Republic The new situation occurring after World War II brought a number of changes, the reconsideration of values and searching for a new orientation in the social and political area as well as in the area of art and culture, which became the subject of often highly escalated controversy, usually conducted on the pages of the contemporary press. This diploma thesis is an analysis of the Czech cultural discourse in the Third Czechoslovak Republic that focuses not only on the textual statements themselves but even on their historical context, on the media environment in which they entered and on the positions of the actors and their access to the discourse. In the analysis, a network of interrelations between the statements, the processes of establishing key topics, forming a consensus, as well as taboo and the attempts for the appropriation of central collective symbols are monitored and reconstructed. The aim of the thesis is to become both a comprehensive characterization of discourse and a deeper insight into the diverse intellectual tendencies of the time.

Gsöllhoferová, Markéta January 2022 (has links)

The introductory chapter states the theoretical framework of media research and its effects and explains the methodology of the research. As its basic platform, it uses the history of the republic, which at first divides into several separate stages bounded by the so-called "eight years" (1918, 1938, 1948, 1968, 1988-89, 2008 and 2018), in which it introduces selected key events of these years. The individual historical parts are followed by a presentation of the influences of these historical milestones on the work and function of the media and the development of emancipation and everyday life of women. It concludes each historical chapter with an analysis of the structure of topics published in the magazines Ženský svět (Women's World) from 1908-1928, Eva (Catholic review) from 1918, Eva (magazine of modern or educated women) from 1928 and 1938, Hvězda československých paní a dívek (Star of Czechoslovak ladies and girls) from 1928 and 1938, Vlasta from 1948 to 2018 and Žena a život (Woman and Life) from 1998-2018. The role of materiality in transnational family relationships of Czech migrants in Sweden

Peychlova, Kristyna January 2012 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is to analyze the transnational family relationships of Czech pre-1989 political émigrés and post-1989 love/ economic migrants in Sweden and their homeland-based relatives, by looking at the practices via which these relationships are initiated and maintained and the role of materiality in these practices. The theoretical framework builds on the notion of “transnationalism from below” as a perspective which intersects migration and family studies, and posits the focus on material culture as an effective analytical tool. After setting the research in the context of Czech and Czechoslovak migration in the 20th century, qualitative analysis of life history narratives and ethnographic interviews is used to investigate the topic in question. Considering the influence of historical and individual factors, the study identifies the parallels and divergences in the two migrant groups’ practices of long-distance communication and mutual visits and in their attitudes to the role of materiality in transnational family relationships. The thesis concludes by stating that in contrast to the pre-1989 émigrés, the post-1989 migrants’ transnational connections with the homeland-based kin are more frequent and intensive. While material aspects play a more significant role in the post-1989 migrants’ transnational family relationships, material differences are more pronounced in the pre-1989 émigrés’ relationships. The historical circumstances of migration, the individuals’ perceptions of their own acts of migration as voluntary or forced and the question of whether or not they were given a license to leave by their homeland-based kin are said to have a significant impact on relationship initiation, the practices of relationship maintenance and the inherent role of materiality. The importance of individual-level enquiry of the migration experience is thus emphasized.

Katechetická práce s dětmi v Královehradecké diecézi CČSH / Katechetical Work with Children in the Hradec Králové Diocese of The Czechoslovak Hussite Church

Klásková, Františka January 2012 (has links)
This thesis is devoted to the topic catechetical work with children in the Czechoslovak Hussite Church. After presenting into context depicts the subject from two point sof wiew. The first part is devoted to theoretical catechetics, which describes how the catechesis of children theoretically takes place. The sekond part shows you how it really takes place in Hradec Kralove diocese of the Czechoslovak Hussite Church. These two parts are equally divided into three sections. By comparing these sections it is concluded that in practice the fundamental katechetice coincides with the theory. In a formal katechetics, basic points also coincide, but practice may inspire theory rather than vice verse. The material part is of the biggest contradictions, especially in materials that Czechoslovak Hussite Church does (not) offer. Mismatch in this material part of catechetics is essential, and unless a consensus is reached again, the problems that the practice faces, cannot be solved.

The first one recapitulates Jelínek's youth, formation of his personality and political views and last but not least the birth of his Francophilia. The second, pivotal part, places emphasis on his effort to get himself established in the nascent Czechoslovak diplomatic services. It analyses the eleven year period Jelínek spent at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as other activities stemming from his position there. The final part deals with Jelínek's cultural life and influences, however, it only gives a general overview necessary in order to understand Jelínek's personal life and has no ambition to review his extensive literary work. It accentuates, though, his work in Lumír journal that Jelínek...
