Wagner, Martin January 2011 (has links)
Application of the Decrees of the President of the Republic in the Semily District Existing legal history literature deals, to a considerable extent and in general terms, with the questions of decretal rule-making. On the other hand, it only marginally deals with the practical application of these regulations under specific time and local conditions. One of the most severe regulations of this historical stage of Czechoslovak law was Decree No. 108/1945 Coll. on the confiscation of enemy property. The aim of this work is to describe and analyse the application of this regulation. The description of the practical enforcement of confiscation under this Decree on the example of the municipality of Rokytnice nad Jizerou and its vicinity settled by Germans is to reveal the course and extent to which the practice of the national committees observed the then valid confiscation law. Firstly, it was necessary to focus more extensively on the applied Decree de lege lata. Hence, the first part of the work on the above subject provides a summary of brief regulations which apply to property relations and deals in greater detail with the legislative preparations of Decree No. 108/1945 Coll., its scope of powers and interpretation. The second part of the work directs attention to the characteristic features of confiscation...

Červený, Marek January 2011 (has links)
We can consider the sculptural decoration of first Czechoslovak Republic's administrative buildings to be one of the typical manifestations of its time. In its iconography it translated to its contemporaries, as well as to the future generations, the basic ideological motives which the representative, artists and major part of the society considered to be the most important for the existence of the young democratic state. Their message is so clear that even today it can be understood. This thesis discusses in the first chapter the roots of basic iconographical circles (labor, working people) in the Czech art of the end of 19th and beginning of 20th century. Afterwards it focuses on the wider conditions of European art leading to the growing interests in realistic, neo-classical art and new objectivity. Following parts are aimed on arrival of civilism into the Czech interwar art scene and discuss the terms social art, social realism and social civilism and its possible use in the scope of sculptural decoration of administrative buildings. Then continues the overview of the most important iconographical motives which penetrated into the field of the sculptural decoration with special focus on the Czechoslovak pavilion at the International exhibition of decorative arts in Paris 1925. The following...

Obraz normalizačního Československa ve francouzském tisku / French press and Czechoslovakia under the Normalization

Schindlerová, Klára January 2017 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is to map and to present the chosen themes of cultural and political scene of the Czechoslovakia under the normalization, as that they were presented in a given period and in a specific french journal. Among a great number of press published in France beween 1968 and 1989, I've chosen Le Monde as a significant journal. Firstly I expose the main problematics of my subject and I contextualize it in time and space. Then I propose a quantitative analysis, followed by an interpretation considering the cultural and political evolution in both countries. In order to complete the image of Czechoslovakia under the normalization made by media, I also use the press published by Czech and Slovak emigrants living in France. The image made by french television, whose importance grows continuously from 1970s, contibues as well to my problematic. I consider this thesis as a contribution to the Czech-French cultural relations in 1968-1989, a theme that has not been studied enough by historians.

Reflexe první Československé republiky a jejího prezidenta T. G. Masaryka na stránkách vatikánského listu L'Osservatore Romano / The Reflection of the First Czechoslovak Republic and Its President T. G. Masaryk on the Pages of Vatican Daily Newspaper L´Osservatore Romano

TALÍŘ, František January 2019 (has links)
The aim of this diploma thesis is to expound the reality of the first Czechoslovak Republic through the foreign point of view, more precisely through the Vatican daily newspaper L´Osservatore Romano. Since the reality is immensely complex, individual chapters deal with topics of overall political development´s reflection, the personality of the first Czechoslovak president Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk and the situation of Catholic Church in the country from the perspective of Vatican press. Due to the influence of reporters´ Catholic orientation, the author used other journals and documents to achieve higher levels of the opinion plurality in the particular questions. For this purpose, he worked in his thesis with other Czech and Italian newspapers, pastoral letters which were written by Czechoslovak bishops, memories of contemporary events´ actors or different interviews and speeches of important political figures at the time. In the analysis, there is an attempt to answer the question of how the Holy See´s official periodical informed of the events in interwar Czechoslovakia.

Osobnost jezuitského kněze Rudolfa Duška SJ na pozadí dvou totalit / The life and work of the Jesuit Priest Rudolf Dušek SJ Against the Backdrop of Two Totalitarian Regimes

Poncarová, Jana January 2019 (has links)
The aim of the thesis was to introduce the life and work of Rudolf Dušek SJ, so far captured only through shorter interviews, and to use the story of his life as a case study of the persecution of religious orders and congregations during two totalitarian regimes in Czechoslovakia in the twentieth century. These aims have been fulfilled. The research for this thesis revealed previously unknown facts and details, acquaintances and relatives have written down their memories of Rudolf Dušek, and a great deal of material has been discovered in the archives of the Czech province of the Jesuit order. The thesis is thus the most detailed existing account of the life, works, and thought of Rudolf Dušek. In the future, it could be published in expanded form for the benefit of friends and family and the Jesuit order, possibly offered for publication to one of Christian publishing houses in the Czech Republic.
