Právní úprava židovské menšiny v meziválečném Československu / Legal regulation of the Jewish minority in Czechoslovakia between wars

Urešová, Jana January 2015 (has links)
The issue of Jewish minorities especially during the time of WW2 was discussed many times already. In a number of sources is relatively accurately captured the political situation and the gradual elimination of Jews from society, not to mention the persecution itself. This topic has me wondering about since I was about Jews and World War 2 learned. Already in elementary school I was reading children's encyclopedias most this topic and still could not understand how something like this could happen. What I got older, the more information I investigated, but still without understanding the causes why the Jews, whom you made that had so cruelly ended, and again and again the same question, how is it possible that this could happen in the recent past? ? Thesis Theme for me was clear because of that. I had quite a lot of information about Jewish life during the war, but I did not know too much about their origin and especially fascinated by the origins of their control what circumstances preceded the war. As a basis for a complete understanding of all contexts, in my opinion, necessary to start from the beginning. Who are the Jews, where they were married, where they came from, who they were, what they ate and how they are treated as a minority. After finding this information, for me it...

Mediální obraz okupace Československa v roce 1968 v dobovém polském tisku / Media Image of the Occupation of Czechoslovakia in 1968 in Contemporary Press

Řehák, Miroslav January 2014 (has links)
This work is based on the analysis of media image of the occupation of Czechoslovakia by troops of the Warsaw Pact in contemporary Polish press with focus on the role of the Polish army. The purpose of this work is to assess used media discourse of Polish communist newspapers which were informing about these events with focus on elements of propaganda, which were typical for the 60's in the Eastern Bloc countries. At the same time there is a comparison to media discourse of Polish emigration press in the United States. In the beginning, I will describe basic sources and literature and present results of research on topics such as the Prague Spring, Operation Danube and elements of newspeak. The theoretical part of this thesis begins with the context of historical progress which leads to the Prague Spring and Warsaw Pact invasion of Czechoslovakia afterwards. The subsequent chapters are dedicated to a brief history of Polish press after World War Two and also the theories of propaganda and newspeak. The practical part of this thesis is dedicated to the analysis of selected articles from newspapers such as Życie Warszawy, Żołnierz Wolności and Słowo Polskie. These articles are confronted with texts from Chicago's Dziennik Związkowy. I will summarize these findings in the final chapter. Key words...

Československo v letech 1968-1977 a jeho zobrazení v seriálu Vyprávěj / Czechoslovakia in 1968-1977 and its image in serial Vyprávěj

Menšíková, Iva January 2014 (has links)
My dissertation is dedicated to the problem of media construction of history in the case of the television series Vyprávěj. It concentrates on how much the series' adaptation of historical events and normal life in the era of normalization between 1968 and 1977 fits reality by comparing concrete historical events and key societal activities with their adaptation in the series. The work focuses on three special categories - fundamental historical events of that era, people's normal life and the lives of dissidents, with a final objective of finding out how well the series' adaptation matches the true history of the normalization era. First, I delimit the problem of television series in general and address the concept of seriality on the basis of the professional literature. Then I focus on the media construction of reality and representation history in culture, especially in television series. Because the series Vyprávěj addresses recent history, I also mention collective memory. After that I concentrate only on the series Vyprávěj and the problem of normalization in Czechoslovakia, in which era the story takes place. The second part of the dissertation is dedicated to concrete events of the era - how they really happened according to the professional literature and narration of contemporary...

Sociálně-politická role časopisu Parlament (1921-1936) a jeho mediální ukotvení v meziválečném období / Social and political role of the revue parliament (1921-1936) and its position on the media market during the first republic in Czechoslovakia

Bajerová, Markéta January 2015 (has links)
The Diploma Thesis named Social and Political Role of the Revue Parliament (1921-1936) and its Position on the Media Market during the First Republic in Czechoslovakia describes the role of the revue Parliament on the media market in the First Republic in Czechoslovakia. It introduces the period of the First Republic as time of alignment and stabilization of the new country based on democratic principles which were mirrored also in the then media creation. That was characterized by extensive diversity although having been subject to a censorship - in which numerous journals with various specializations and ideological values were finding their place. The Parliament, which I focused on, was significant by being published in the homonymous institution and specialized primarily in sociopolitical topics. It is obvious from its content that it set itself the task to defend an independent position of the republic and to introduce the public to its law and political culture. Whereas the lack of materials about the journal I decided to define it completely. Primarily I used the journal itself and archival materials of the National Archives. I focused on figures who were creating this journal, on the frequence of its publishing, organization and financial matters and especially on the analysis of its...

Československá hokejová reprezentace v letech 1945 - 1969 / The Czechoslovak Ice Hockey Team in Years 1945 - 1969

Švepešová, Alena January 2015 (has links)
My Diploma aims to show how political decisions in international context affected sport in Czechoslovakia. By putting events in context it is essential to illustrate the popularity of ice hockey in Bohemia and Czechoslovakia. The purpose of the thesis is to truthfully describe the important milestones of the Czechoslovak ice hockey based on the oral history, archival sources and periodicals. As sport can be perceived as a mirror of the society, it is possible to show how the Czechoslovak society changed from 1945 up to 1969. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
