Matějková, Eva January 2011 (has links)
The diploma thesis is focused on the economic support to Czechoslovakia, especially offered by the U.S.A. in the period between 1945 - 1948 and its reaction in the historical daily press. One of the goals is to specify what led the United States to organize this aid, based on the evaluation of the Truman's foreign policy, as the beginning of the Cold War. There are described position and development of the Czechoslovak economy and its problematic foreign policy orientation between the West and the Soviet Union, in which the provision and acceptance of foreign aid has become a key element. The author tries to define the most outstanding journalistic personalities, journals and historical newspaper which created the media image of what was happening on the Czechoslovak political scene to the general public. The main finding of this study is the presentation of the historical contemporary press which played an important role in the communist propaganda that since the end of the war helped the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia to the takeover in 1948.

Role a postavení ROH v ekonomice ČSSR v 80. letech 20. století / The Role and Position of the Revolutionary Union Organisation in the Economy of Czechoslovakia in the 1980s

Wolf, Vojtěch January 2014 (has links)
The paper's objective is to analyze the work of the Revolutionary Union Organization (ROH) in the Czechoslovak economy of the 1980s. The basic thesis of the paper is the assumption that ROH bodies preferred the interests of the representatives of the Czechoslovak Communist Party to those of workers. The relationship is analyzed on the basis of the employment legislation of the time and the impact of the union organization in its drafting. The paper also examines the contribution of the union organization in the course of the revolutionary changes in Czechoslovak society in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The analysis is based on a critique of sources from that era and a comparison of the role of the ROH in the 1980s and the role of the unions during Prague Spring. On the basis of the objectives set for this paper, the conclusion is that the ROH did have an impact on the work lives of working people, but its leadership lacked funds and, above all, the willingness to effectively protect the interests of working people. Hence, until December 1989, the ROH remained an organization serving, above all, the interests of the Communist Party.

Kreativní destrukce v podmínkách české ekonomiky - případ hospodářské krize konce 90. let / Creative destruction in Czech economy

Vobořil, Lukáš January 2013 (has links)
By using statistical methods and methods of macroeconomic analysis it has been proved that Schumpeter's theory of the creative destruction works not only as a theoretical model but it holds true even in real economics. With these methods it has been proved that during the currency and economic crisis in the 1997 and following the creative destruction was present in Czech economy and that it has changed the economy to be more effective and more productive than it was before which has helped to reach steeper growth rate afterwards. This means that the crisis through the creative destruction in fact has improved a condition of the whole Czech economy. Such an improvement has been also proved by an international comparison with the economy of the Slovak republic where the creative destruction didn't act so much due to an absence of economic crisis.

The basic thesis of the paper is the assumption that mutual relations were growing during 1960´s. Next assumption of the paper is that evolution of the mutual foreign trade was unique in comparison with the foreign trade with other countries, and that the occupation of Czechoslovakia by the army of the Warsaw Treaty in August 1968 resulted in decline of mutual economic relations. The analysis is based on the survey of the sources from 1960´s, especially from the archive of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. On the basics of the paper´s objectives, the conclusion is that mutual economic relations and foreign trade were growing during 1960´s. However, this improvement was typical for the aggregate czechoslovak foreign trade, therefore the first part of the assumption wasn´t confirmed, as well as the next part about the decline of mutual relations and trade after the occupation.
