UDP is usually used for these applications, due to its low overhead. A new transport layer protocol, called DCCP, was proposed to meet the demand of multimedia applications, aiming at replacing the UDP protocol. This dissertation will propose a variant for this protocol, called Fast DCCP, for operating efficiently on high-speed networks. It was evaluated by simulation using the NS-2 network simulator and measurements of the FAST DCCP protocol operation in the Linux operating system / Mestrado / Ciência da Computação / Mestre em Ciência da Computação

PACKET FILTER APPROACH TO DETECT DENIAL OF SERVICE ATTACKSMuharish, Essa Yahya M 01 June 2016 (has links)
Denial of service attacks (DoS) are a common threat to many online services. These attacks aim to overcome the availability of an online service with massive traffic from multiple sources. By spoofing legitimate users, an attacker floods a target system with a high quantity of packets or connections to crash its network resources, bandwidth, equipment, or servers. Packet filtering methods are the most known way to prevent these attacks via identifying and blocking the spoofed attack from reaching its target. In this project, the extent of the DoS attacks problem and attempts to prevent it are explored. The attacks categories and existing countermeasures based on preventing, detecting, and responding are reviewed. Henceforward, a neural network learning algorithms and statistical analysis are utilized into the designing of our proposed packet filtering system.

Akviziční jednotka pro zabezpečovací techniku / Acquisition Unit for Security SystemPejchal, Luboš January 2012 (has links)
Project is focused to development of security unit for security of homes, flats and other similar spaces against intruders (thieves). Design is focused to solution of hardware and firmware for security units and their control software for PC. Hardware design solve supply over ethernet PoE, backup of supply, connection securities sensors to security unit. Firmware prevents failure of units and it is communicating with sensors and PC. Software in PC provides settings of security units, deactivating of alarm and measure temperature by security unit.

Optimizing Point-to-Point Ethernet Cluster CommunicationReinhardt, Mirko 28 February 2006 (has links)
This work covers the implementation of a raw Ethernet communication module
for the Open MPI message passing library. Thereby it focuses on both the reduction of the
communication latency for small messages and maximum possible compatibility.
Especially the need for particular network devices, adapted network device drivers or
kernel patches is avoided. The work is divided into three major parts: First, the
networking subsystem of the version 2.6 Linux kernel is analyzed. Second, an Ethernet
protocol family is implemented as a loadable kernel module, consisting of a basic
datagram protocol (EDP), providing connection-less and unreliable datagram transport,
and a streaming protocol (ESP), providing connection-oriented, sequenced and reliable
byte streams. The protocols use the standard device driver interface of the Linux kernel
for data transmission and reception. Their services are made available to user-space
applications through the standard socket interface. Last, the existing Open MPI TCP
communication module is ported atop the ESP. With bare EDP/ESP sockets a message
latency of about 30 us could be achieved for small messages, which compared to the
TCP latency of about 40 us is a reduction of 25 %.

tierung belegt.
