Nastávajú v ekonomike Českej republiky zdvojené deficity? / Are there twin deficits in the economy of the Czech republic?

Kužmová, Alexandra January 2010 (has links)
The aim of this master thesis is to empirically validate "hypothesis of twin deficits", resulting from Mundell-Fleming model, in the Czech Republic in years 1999-2010. The econometric method used was VAR models and Impulse Response Functions based on these models. Analysis proved that as a result of government deficit increase, through exchange rate appreciation, the balance of foreign trade deteriorates. Another fact discovered is that people are partially behaving as described by Ricardo-Barro equivalence. Their reaction on increased government deficit is increase of their personal savings as well as consumption. But increase of personal savings is not sufficiently compensating the deficit in government budget. Similar results were achieved also in analysis of government spendings.

Sebevražednost seniorů / Suicidality of Seniors

Havránková, Olga January 2019 (has links)
The aim of this work is to study the phenomenon of suicide of seniors in the context of PBSP needs. The suicidality of seniors is a serious problem and it can be assumed that its importance will increase as a result of aging of population. I tried to find out which PBSP needs are in the largest deficit in sucidal threatened seniors and how to describe the phenomenon of suicidality of elderly people. This dissertation project was realized in the form of a qualitative research study, namely the method of interpretative phenomenological analysis, the principle of which is the study of living human experience and its individualized meaning, supplemented by other relevant research methods. The primary source of data was semi-structured interviews with seniors who had suicidal thoughts, tendencies, or attempts. This research confirmed that every need of a suicidal senior can be detected by the PBSP system and then use it to better understand how to work with this individual. The need, which respondents had in the biggest deficit, was the need of place (doubt about one's own place in the world, loneliness, and the loss of meaning). It also turned out that suicidal ideas of seniors, no matter how many actually acts suicidal, unexpectedly high. The risk and safety factors, that this research has shown,...

Interventions to improve the engagement of children with Attention Deficti/Hyperactivity Disorder in school activities : A  Systematic Review

Mesolongiti, Marika January 2018 (has links)
Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a developmental disorder diagnosed from an early age of life by the symptoms of inattention, hyperactivity and impulsivity. This systematic review aims to explore the evidence for interventions implemented at school by school staff to improve the engagement of children with ADHD in school activities. Six articles were extracted from four different databases (ERIC, PsycINFO, CINAHL and ProQuest Central), after specific inclusion and exclusion criteria had been applied and a quality appraisal procedure implemented and ranked using the Oxford Levels of Evidence Based Medicine. A content analysis was used for the data analysis by categorising relevant findings. Results describe the definitions found in the included in the systematic studies for the term ‘’engagement’’, the effects of the intervention strategies on the engagement of children with ADHD as well as the types of intervention strategies described in the studies. Effective interventions need to be implemented within the school environment for children with ADHD in order to improve their engagement and social skills. Further research should focus on more intervention strategies implemented at school for improving the engagement of children with ADHD, considering characteristics among different cultures as well.

Vliv zákroků metabolické chirurgie u obézních pacintů na kalciofosfátový metabolismus a sérovou koncentraci některých mikronutrientů / The effect of metabolic surgery in obese patients to calcium-phosphate metabolism and serum concentrations of some micronutrients

Černá, Martina January 2021 (has links)
This thesis focuse on bariatric-metabolic surgery and its impact on serum concentrations of various metabolic parameters. The thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical. Basic facts about bariatric-metabolic surgery such as its history, indications, contraindications, surgical methods and their results, nutrition after surgery and the frequency of micronutrient's deficits are described in the theoretical part. Furthermore, information about calcium-phosphate metabolism and metabolites such as calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, vitamin D, vitamin K, parathyroid hormone and osteomarkers is also included. The influence of nutrition and nutritional status on the quality of bone tissue is also mentioned. Last section of the theoretical part is focused on the important vitamins and minerals. The practical part discusses measurements of selected metabolites in serum before and half a year after the surgery. Results of questionnaires which were given to respondents are also included. Questionnaires were focused on lifestyle, nutrition, physical activities and whether the patients take some supplements of micronutrients and protein concentrates. The goal of this work is to evaluate the effect of the surgery on serum concentrations of metabolic parameters and their effect on the health and...

Ekonomie korupce: korupcí k chudobě nebo k bohatství nebo jinam? / Analysis of the link between corruption and general government deficits

Michálek, Jan January 2010 (has links)
This paper discovers the link between corruption and general government deficits in European countries. A short review of concepts such as agency theory and principal-agent problem is made. After introducing a simple model of corruption-deficit relationship, the correlation is tested by regression analysis for years 2003-2009. Besides the year 2008 (the first year of financial crisis) are the results significant on the 5% confidence level. The regression of means is significant on 1% confidence level. The deficits are statistical significantly correlated with the level of perceived corruption.

Nutriční znalosti pacientů po bariatrické operaci / Nutritional knowledge of patients after bariatric surgery

Uhrová, Kateřina January 2017 (has links)
The bariatric surgery is regarded as the most effective treatment method of dangerous forms of obesity. Since the bariatric surgery is closely related to nutrition, it is thus necessary to emphasize the importance of good nutritional knowledge of patients that have undergone this type of surgery. The aim of this thesis was to examine the nutritional knowledge of patients that are at least one year after the surgery, or reoperation. To get relevant data, patients were examined using an anonymous questionnaire. The survey indicates that the patients have insufficient knowledge regarding the recommended protein intake. Furthermore, the examination exhibited, surprisingly, that men have statistically worse knowledge than women do as well as that the majority of patients does not know what the dumping syndrome is. The survey confirmed that the patients operated more than two and a half years ago have worse nutritional knowledge than the ones operated within such a period of time. Moreover, the examination did not identify problems regarding the correct food preparation, post- operational diet, and inappropriate eatables. In addition, it was discovered that about fifty percent of all the examined patients have sufficient knowledge of the post-bariatric surgery eating habits. Since the importance of...

Podpora kognitivního rozvoje dospívajících se specifickými poruchami učení / Cognitive Development Support of Adolescents with Learning Disabilities

Jungwirthová, Lucie January 2017 (has links)
This thesis deals with possibilities of cognitive development support of adolescents with learning disabilities. The theoretical part first introduces cognitive deficits which are typical for these disabilities. Then it focuses on particular possibilities for adolescents with learning disabilities and how to support their cognitive development. Attention is paid to the use of modern information technologies and applications for children and adolescents with learning disabilities. The thesis also includes a research that attempts to verify the effectiveness of application called Tablexia. Although the results do not confirm the clear efficiency of cognitive training with this application, optional ways to capture the effectiveness better are discussed.

Posouzení kognitivní plasticity u seniorů s použitím FIE / Estimation of Cognitive Plasticity in Old Adults Using FIE

Fišarová, Zuzana January 2013 (has links)
5 Abstract The work deals with the development of cognitive skills by the method of the Feuerstein Instrumental enrichment for seniors in a residential care. It should clarify whether the Instrumental Enrichment Program is practicable when working with seniors and how it will affect the development of cognitive abilities of these people. The theoretical part deals with the period of the old age, the cognitive specific of seniors, the contemporary views on the brain functioning, and especially with the Instrumental Enrichment Program. The practical part includes the results of the qualitative research. The main method of data collection was a " dynamic assessment " of the cognitive test and the case studies. The qualitative results evaluation of the Addenbrooke cognitive test showed the improvement in the solution methods almost in all levels ( input , elaboration and output) . The results of the study showed that the Instrumental Enrichment Program is very suitable for the seniors. Its use is meaningful not only for clients with mild cognitive insult but it is also very effective for the people with more severe degrees of dementia.

Finanční krize a její dopady na vývoj hrubého domácího produktu USA / The financial crisis and its impact on U.S. gross domestic product growth

Cimala, Petr January 2010 (has links)
The aim of the thesis is to quantify the impact of the 2008 financial crisis to U.S. economic growth and also identify potential scenarios for future development. For this purpose, there was selected a sample of historical cases of financial crisis where followed the process of deleveraging. Identified impacts were applied to estimate the future GDP growth. In the period 0-5 years after the crisis GDP typically slowed by 40-45%, in 0-7 year horizon by 28-35%, and in the 10 year horizon by 17-20%. In a case of deducting export effect, slowdown of GDP growth is even higher. For the next 8 years average U.S. GDP growth is estimated to 2.26-2.6%. Compared with the pre-crisis period, slowdown reaches 14-25%. Process of deleveraging is now in the one third of the expected duration. The financial sector and household sector remains vulnerable to return the economy into recession and will deleverage further. Non-financial firms are sound. The greatest risk is hidden in the public sector which is experiencing high deficits and uncontrolled growth of debt. Debt is starting to approach level that may reduce long-term dynamics of GDP growth. The future path is in the hands of government officials. Fiscal consolidation treat the root of the problem, but it is painful and hard to approve. Delays in solving the problem is less painful way, but it can result in massive government debt, as it is now in Japan. Repeating Japan scenario is unlikely. The magnitude of balance sheet recession in Japan was much larger. The measures taken have not been so quick and strong.

Teachers' and counsellors' knowledge and experience related to attention deficit hyperactivity disorder

Wilde, Jaime, University of Lethbridge. Faculty of Education January 2006 (has links)
This study was designed to assess teachers' and counsellors' knowledge and experiences related to ADHD and the use of stimulant medication. The sample population was comprised of elementary, middle school, and high school teachers and counsellors from two school districts in southwestern Canada. A descriptive, cross-sectional design using a self-administered questionnaire was used to obtain information. Results revealed that the teachers and counsellors responding to the questionnaire have limited knowledge about ADHD and the use of stimulant medication, although a large majority of them have experience with students with ADHD and are involved in the diagnosing and assessment process of ADHD. These results suggest that there is a need for in-service training regarding the diagnosis and characteristics of ADHD, different intervention strategies, and assessment of the effectiveness of these strategies. Teachers and counsellors need to become more familiar with empirical research and to base their practice on it, rather than on popular opinion. Finally, further collaboration is needed between teachers and counsellors and allied professionals, such as physicians and psychologists. / x, 77 leaves ; 29 cm.
