Příspěvek k vlivu masových médií v ČSSR v 70. letech 20. století / Munich Treaty as a legitimizing means for normalization in Czechoslovakia - Contribution to the influence of mass media in Czechoslovakia at the end of the 60' and beginning of 70' of 20th century

Provazníková, Jana January 2012 (has links)
This magister thesis is focused on relationships between mass media, political power and society in Czechoslovakia in the late 60' and in the beginning of 70' in 20th century and desribe the transformation of media atmosphere during the era of political changes in Czechoslovakia, that means the transformation from "liberalized" 60' due to the normalization. I find answers to these questions: What were the most important changes in medial atmosphere in the Czechoslovakia in late 60' and beginning of 70'? Were media and politics connected? How important was the influence of mass media due to the political changes and normalization? Did comunists mass medias have such great power to influence society and persuade people about the rightness of intervention? As a main hypothesis there is the claim, that mass media under the comunists influence wanted to and actually managed to manipulate with people and their opinions. The answers for questions and hypotesis are verified on the basis of a general theory of media history and studies and then specifically analyzed on the concete historical example -- Munich Treaty. Methodologically this work come out of the new political history and discussion that lead to the role of mass media in modern sotieties, and also from the latest scientific literature and archival materials.

Analýza Dohody o volném obchodu mezi Evropskou Unií a Jižní Koreou a její efekt na jejich vzájemný obchod pomocí gravitačního modelu / Analysis of the EU - South Korea FTA and its effects on their mutual trade using the gravity model

Vinšová, Katarína January 2020 (has links)
The European Union (EU) and South Korea signed the EU- South Korea free trade agreement (FTA) in 2011 and since then they started to gradually remove barriers to their mutual trade. This thesis is analyzing the effects of this agreement on their bilateral trade flow in 10 commodity sections from 2005 until 2018. For this analysis we are using gravity model that is estimated by OLS and PPML method for comparison. This analysis showed that the EUSouth Korea FTA influences their mutual trade in all 10 sections differently due to different levels of protectionism at the beginning. The FTA had a positive influence on their mutual trade in 9 commodity sections out of 10. In the Section 9 we found a negative effect of the FTA. Contrary to our beliefs we also found out that the highest increase in their mutual trade was not in automobile and electronic industry but in the chemical industry. Mnichovská dohoda a její reflexe v tisku/ Reflexe Mnichovské dohody v tisku / The Munich agreement and its reflection in the press/ The reflection of the Munich agreement in the press

Legátová, Alžběta January 2019 (has links)
The Munich agreement signed on the 29th of September 1938 has always been giving rise to strong emotions in Czech society. This event, frequently described as "about us, without us", is a synonym for humiliation, injustice and a symbol of betrayal for many. The historian Jan Tesař holds a non-traditional point of view on this matter. He opposes this established interpretation and sees it as a source of origin of the so-called Munich Complex. The proposed diploma thesis focuses on this phenomenon, which is examined in printed media. Firstly, it provides a brief historical context and introduces an overview of different interpretations of Munich events within Czech historiography as well as describes the arguments of Tesař himself. Furthermore, the Munich complex is conceptualized and the resulting concept includes variables necessary for the research part of the thesis. This section consists of qualitative and quantitative analysis of the content of selected representative media samples. Among examined aspects are arguments used in the press, patterns of interpretation and attributed meanings. The time scope for analysis ranges from 1948 to 2018. Finally, the examination of the presence of aforementioned elements in selected samples and evolution of media bias throughout the time provides knowledge...

Vaňous, Jaroslav January 2011 (has links)
The three years lasting postwar period in Czechoslovak history, sometimes denoted as the "Third Republic", still deserves attention of the historical research in the Czech Republic. The 1947 autumn political crisis in Slovakia is undoubtly one of the most important issues of that historical period. The aim of this thesis is to point out the sources, the process and consequences of this political crisis that is nowadays recognized as a "litmus paper" of the following "coup d'etat". First parts of the thesis analyse the collapse of the nondemocratic regime of the Slovak Republic as well as the framework of the political system of Czechoslovakia and its main features. The following part deals with circumstances of the general elections that took place in May 1946, elections, that resulted in a quite unexpected win of the Democratic Party in the Slovak part of Czechoslovakia. The political situation in Czechoslovakia deteriorated, as the year 1947 continued. It developed into a deep political crisis in autumn, preceded by a campaign against the alleged subversive complot against the state authority. The complot and the following crisis form the main theme of the thesis. These occasions deserve maximal attention because they explicitly show that the decisive politics was dominated by the bloc...
