Návrh efektivnější technologie výroby dveří pro rozváděč UniGear / Study of More Efficient Manufacturing Technology for UniGear Doors

Drobilič, Ivo January 2018 (has links)
The diploma thesis deals with the analysis of suitable technologies to produce the switchgear door of product UniGear with a design of more efficient production technology. Thesis is divided into four main chapters, in which the first part describes the doors of individual switchgear compartments, design of door materials, technology for achieving desired shape of a base plate, possibilities of sheet metal forming and other technologies not linked with sheet metal processing. The second part of the thesis deals with study of the whole current production process of doors in ABB s.r.o. from sheet metal processing till powder coating. The thesis also contains proposal of innovated production technologies with a selection and evaluation of the final variant with technical and economic evaluation of current and proposed solutions.

Návrh zakřivení rámu dveřního křídla / Design of Door Frame Curvature

Merkl, Martin January 2015 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with the design of door frame curvature, meant for rail vehicle. Flat glass is adhesively bonded onto the curved door frame and due to the elastic deformation the door frame bends backwards. Hence the door frame must be bend with reserve so that the elastic deformation is covered. Finite element analysis of currently manufactured door with constant curvatere has been carried out, with this analysis it has been checked that the chosen problem approach is suitable. Design of door frame curvature is then made for door frame with combined curvature (different for lower and upper part of door frame). The aim of this thesis was to design the curvature so that after glass is bonded onto it, the door frame will have the right dimensions.

Home Automation System : A cheap and open-source alternative to control household appliances / Automation i hemmet : en ekonomisk lösning med öppen källkod

Ruwaida,, Bassam, Minkkinen, Toni January 2013 (has links)
This project revolves around creating a home automation system prototype with the main focus being the ability to lock/unlock a door through the internet. The system consists of a central device, a server and an Android application. The central device is a microprocessor, in this case, a Raspberry Pi that connects to the Internet and receives an order to control a motor which in turn turns the lock with the help of gears. The ability to rotate the motor in both directions is achieved by the use of an H-bridge. The server manages users and devices, and handles the communication between the application and the central device. Users and devices are stored in a database on the server. The application is a frontend which presents the user with a list of devices to interact with. The main prototype where the Raspberry Pi acted as a central device was abandoned due to time and resource constraints. It was instead used to control the motor directly. This brought up some problems concerning powering the device using batteries. The software of the prototype is mostly working but due to the same time limitations not all planned features could be implemented.

Initiation of RCM on C20 trains at TBT Stockholm AB

Farooq, Muhammad Omar, Vallabh, Samarth January 2010 (has links)
This thesis is an effort to implement Reliability Centered Maintenance “RCM” for C20trains at Tunnelbanan Teknik Stockholm AB. In depth study is performed along withmaintenance team of TBT at center of excellence, a facility for maintenance workshop. RCM is a philosophy or framework to ensure efficient working of assets according todefined and required operating context. In general, the successful implementation ofRCM can achieve improvements through lesser maintenance, operating techniquechanges, and generating inclusive maintenance plan. RCM is also one of the best toolsavailable to identify and prevent equipment failures. Therefore TBT has decided tointroduce RCM to ensure effective services with great confidence and precision. The selection of critical system of C20 train was obligatory to initiate implementation ofRCM, and the door system was considered a very complicated system with maximumfailures that results in traffic disturbances and stoppages. Through literature study, depots & workshop visits, brainstorming engineers & train drivers etc, the requiredtasks to be performed were lay down. A template that illustrates details such as FMECA,risk analysis, current maintenance strategy and the recommended actions wasprepared and new maintenance regime along with the changes in work instructionswere proposed. The cost effectiveness as well as safety assessment was carried out. Moreover, the efficacy of RCM analysis is directly proportional to quality and accuracyof available failure data, and the proposed time scale for thesis was underestimated andthe reason behind was the convolution of CMMS as well as poor quality of failure data. The study results are officially approved by all stakeholders, i.e. SL, MTR Stockholm,MTR HK and TBT. This work can guide the officials to take imperative decisions foroptimization of maintenance practices, also the study for C20 door system can be theroadmap for comprehensive implementation of RCM at TBT Stockholm AB.

Hydrodynamic Shape Optimization of Trawl Doors with Three-Dimensional Computational Fluid Dynamics Models and Local Surrogates

Hermannsson, Elvar January 2014 (has links)
Rising fuel prices have been inflating the operating costs of the fishing industry. Trawl doors are used to hold the fishing net open during trawling operations, and they have a great influence on the fuel consumption of vessels. Improvements in the design of trawl doors could therefore contribute significantly to increased fuel efficiency. An efficient optimization algorithm using two- and three-dimensional (2D and 3D) computational fluid dynamics (CFD) models is presented. Accurate CFD models, especially 3D, are computationally expensive. The direct use of traditional optimization algorithms, which often require a large number of evaluations, can therefore be prohibitive. The proposed method is iterative and uses low-order local response surface approximation models as surrogates for the expensive CFD model to reduce the number of iterations. The algorithm is applied to the design of two types of geometries: a typical modern trawl door, and a novel airfoil-shaped trawl door. The results from the 2D design optimization show that the hydrodynamic efficiency of the typical modern trawl door could be increased by 32%, and the novel airfoil-shaped trawl door by 13%. When the 2D optimum designs for the two geometries are compared, the novel airfoil-shaped trawl door results to be 320% more efficient than the optimized design of the typical modern trawl door. The 2D optimum designs were used as the initial designs for the 3D design optimization. The results from the 3D optimization show that the hydrodynamic efficiency could be increased by 6% for both the typical modern and novel airfoil-shaped trawl doors. Results from a 3D CFD analysis show that 3D flow effects are significant, where the values for drag are significantly underestimated in 2D CFD models.

The Open Door, Dollar Diplomacy, and the Self-Strengthening Movement: The Birth of American Idealist Imperialism in China, 1890 - 1912

Poag, Frederic 01 May 2018 (has links) (PDF)
American Foreign Policy at the outset of the Twentieth century evolved from a realist to an idealist position as the United States transitioned to an imperial power. This ideal framework was formed in the crucible of China during the Spheres of Influence and the Open Door. The US had to play delicate game of helping China to maintain their territorial, and administrative integrity while at the same time protecting their newly acquired overseas interests against more established imperial actors. While there were many missteps, and failures during this transition perhaps the most the important result was the change toward the approach of US foreign policy. Not only did the United States have to balance realist geo-political goals, but it had to define what an imperial United States looked like. In a sense the United States was starting from scratch, processing to a completely different game and in order to be successful it had evolve.
