Design of the Opening/Closing Door Mechanism System in the Elevator

Liao, Shu-Mao 30 August 2003 (has links)
The elevator is a common vertical transportation in our life. The elevator door system includes a door driven system, a door coupling, a door safety, and two door locks. The purpose of this work is to develop a systematic methodology for the design of the elevator door system. First, basic characteristics of the elevator door system are deduced, and all possible variants of function structures are synthesized by functional analysis method. Next, a system of kinematic notation is used to generate the principle solutions of each function in the function structure. Finally, all design concept variant can be created by using morphological chart method. Several design concept can be created for new elevator door system.

Development and analysis of a new component test for a sliding door system

Sun, Minghao, Chen, Xianyang, Kuai, Le January 2015 (has links)
The IKEA sliding door system is widely employed on IKEA’s wardrobes. In view of the massive usage of it, any optimization for reducing production costs is crucial. This work attempts to develop a special static test rig for a component of IKEA’s sliding door system. It will be used to check the quality of the component in production. The simulation-driven design method will be used in the entire process. Therefore, before proceeding with the details of the test rig, the priority should be given to the simulation. In particular, the nonlinear finite element method (FEM) will be used to identify the break load of the studied component. Finite element models were created in ABAQUS/Standard. Four kinds of POM were used to define the model’s material properties. Meanwhile the compression experiment were also conducted. Finite element models were used to predict the load capacity and compare it with the experimental results. The closest prediction in relation to the test results was 2124N, merely 6N smaller than the experimental results, giving the proof of a good finite element analysis. Based on the results of simulations and compression tests, a proper test rig consisting of a pneumatic system and load cell was selected from four concepts. The air cylinder can provide 3175N when the supplied air is 0.7MPa, which is fully met the design requirements with reasonable price.

Initiation of RCM on C20 trains at TBT Stockholm AB

Farooq, Muhammad Omar, Vallabh, Samarth January 2010 (has links)
This thesis is an effort to implement Reliability Centered Maintenance “RCM” for C20trains at Tunnelbanan Teknik Stockholm AB. In depth study is performed along withmaintenance team of TBT at center of excellence, a facility for maintenance workshop. RCM is a philosophy or framework to ensure efficient working of assets according todefined and required operating context. In general, the successful implementation ofRCM can achieve improvements through lesser maintenance, operating techniquechanges, and generating inclusive maintenance plan. RCM is also one of the best toolsavailable to identify and prevent equipment failures. Therefore TBT has decided tointroduce RCM to ensure effective services with great confidence and precision. The selection of critical system of C20 train was obligatory to initiate implementation ofRCM, and the door system was considered a very complicated system with maximumfailures that results in traffic disturbances and stoppages. Through literature study, depots & workshop visits, brainstorming engineers & train drivers etc, the requiredtasks to be performed were lay down. A template that illustrates details such as FMECA,risk analysis, current maintenance strategy and the recommended actions wasprepared and new maintenance regime along with the changes in work instructionswere proposed. The cost effectiveness as well as safety assessment was carried out. Moreover, the efficacy of RCM analysis is directly proportional to quality and accuracyof available failure data, and the proposed time scale for thesis was underestimated andthe reason behind was the convolution of CMMS as well as poor quality of failure data. The study results are officially approved by all stakeholders, i.e. SL, MTR Stockholm,MTR HK and TBT. This work can guide the officials to take imperative decisions foroptimization of maintenance practices, also the study for C20 door system can be theroadmap for comprehensive implementation of RCM at TBT Stockholm AB.

Utbildningssimulator av funktioner i spårfordon : Hårdvarusimulator med felsökning på dörrsystem / Educational simulator of functions in rail vehicles

Eriksson, Niklas, Lifvendahl, Patrik January 2015 (has links)
This report is a description of a developed educational simulator over rail vehicles and its components. The simulator is a hardware-based prototype over a door system on rail vehi- cles. System specialists and technicians will use the prototype. The Simulator should give the user a technical demonstration on how components work in a door system. The proto- type consists of motor, switch, relay and sensor. The components are used for illustration of the functions in a door system on a rail vehicle. The educational simulator is controlled with a control unit and with pushbuttons for manual control. For demonstration of the boarding security an optical sensor is used as symbolize for the obstacle detection. The educational simulation has two embedded common faults: cable fault and ground fault. The instruction manual consists of a circuit diagram and is used for troubleshooting. The circuit diagram over the door system is used to find the faults and to correct them. The fault analysis includes the factors, which is the reason for the most common faults to occur in a rail vehicle. Door system receives diagnostic code from a door computer that control priori- tizing for arrangements that will be made.
