actriz / En la siguiente investigación, se pretende presentar una relectura del texto dramático colonial Ollantay desde una perspectiva teórica del teatro, con especial énfasis en los elementos dramáticos que podrían revelar un carácter historiográfico de esta pieza teatral. Para ello, se dará cuenta de un estudio del fenómeno cultural presentado al momento de la posible datación de producción de esta obra. Posteriormente, se expondrán estudios y análisis críticos de Ollantay desarrollados desde otras perspectivas teóricas como filología, literatura e historia, y se discutirá acerca de los procesos lingüísticos y comunicacionales a los que posiblemente fue sometida esta producción. Finalmente, de acuerdo a lo planteado en estas primeras dos etapas, se analizarán dos componentes teóricos (extraídos del modelo de análisis de texto dramático de Patrice Pavis en el 2002) en Ollantay, con lo que se pretende vincular el análisis dramático con el posible potencial historiográfico de este notable legado del período colonial andino.

The purpose of this thesis is to make an intensive survey of the plots, characters, and teachings of Dicenta's prose dramas together with a study of the life and works of Dicenta.

This study attempted to classify the characters in Greene's dramas and among other things, the study tried to show which characters are individuals and which are types.

The composition is in seven major sections with a coda at the end. The work requires approximately fifteen minutes for performance. The discussion and analysis includes a description of the play and an explanation of the treatment of the elements of music. The work requires the following instrumentation: two flutes, two piccolos, two alto flutes, two oboes, two English horns, one bassoon, one contra-bassoon, one French horn, one trumpet, one flugelhorn, one melodion, one piano, one vibraphone, one xylophone, three timpani, mixed percussion, one solo soprano, two solo tenors, one solo bass, a choir of three women and two men, violin, and cello.

The purpose of this study is to determine the importance of characterization in the Quinteros in developing their characters into figures possessing human qualities which give them charm and reality. In nine of the twenty plays studied, the characters are used in emphasizing other elements such as love and atmosphere, or to prove a thesis. However, the importance of characterization is shown by the fact that eleven of the plays are concerned with the character development.

No extensive study exists that covers the foundation of the dramatic works of Enrique Pérez Escrich, therefore we believe it will be a positive use of our efforts in this thesis to examine this aspect of his literary personality. We will divide his works between dramas and comedies, dedicating a chapter to each.

The following dissertation uses fictional crime dramas to determine whether there are gendered patterns in the use of techniques of neutralization between and among male and female offenders. It utilizes a mixed method approach to answer three separate research questions: (1) how techniques of neutralization are used in fictional crime dramas, (2) whether such portrayals vary between and among male and female offenders, and (3) how elements of doing gender play a role in the gendered nature of males and female offenders’ techniques of neutralization. The sample included 124 episodes from four different fictional crime dramas and 383 individual offenses were used in the data. The quantitative data found that while both genders utilize the techniques in similar proportions, there are specific differences in their applicability. One salient difference was that men tended to commit offenses without using a technique of neutralization to excuse their offense more often than were women. The qualitative data showed several themes in how men and women utilized these techniques as well. Women were not depicted speaking the technique used for their offense as often as were men. Further, they were more likely to have someone else offer a technique on their behalf. When women did use a technique of neutralization they were likely to use more than one whereas, this was not found with men. There were also specific variations that occurred within each technique that played off of how the gender of the offenders was portrayed in the shows.
