"Om man bara kunde få in den utopin i ett omklädningsrum" : En studie om upplevelsen av kroppsnormativitet i badhus / “If you only could get that utopian in a dressing room” : A study regarding the experience of body-normativity in public swimming pools

Morén, Kajsa January 2019 (has links)
Who is welcome in the public swimming pool? What makes different spaces and rooms more comfortable and accessible than others? The empirical material of this study is built on four interviews with people who have a non-normative body. Their experiences and emotions concerning the public swimming pool are studied through an intersectional and phenomenological perspective. With these perspectives’ assumptions, emotions and approaches concerning swimming pools in relation to bodynormativity have become noticeable. Specific viewpoints have been centered on ableism, gender and body size. One observation has been made in a public swimming pool with the intention to raise awareness of my own body in the specific context. With that insight I can relate my observation to the statements that were reached through the interviews. Generally, bodynormativity is something that we are all aware of and likely adapted to. Dressing rooms and spaces where naked bodies meet are tending to bring awareness to your own body. The main conclusions of this study are that changing the design of dressing rooms and developing a private space to change and shower in will make the situation safer. Onward highlighting a public dialogue to question stigmas related to non-normative bodies will in the end benefit non-normative bodies to feel more welcome in places like public swimming pools.

Sportovně - rekreační centrum Vsetín, Ohrada / Sports and Relaxation Centre Vsetín, Ohrada

Németh, Ondřej January 2019 (has links)
The design of the sports and recreation center in Vsetín solves the complete revitalization of the unused territory on the periphery of the town in the Ohrada district. The aim of the project is to revive the poorly accessible and neglected area and its use not only for a wide range of sports activities, but also for leisure activities and recreation. The whole area should be freely accessible and open to a wide range of public. Four main buildings are designed in the complex: a multi-purpose sports hall, a hotel, a tennis club and a snack bar with a bicycle service. There is a football field, a basketball court and a small football pitch on the open spaces between these objects, as well as two climbing walls, an outdoor gym and a parkour area with many obstacles. Koncertní sál v Brně / Concert-Hall Brno

Špondrová, Hana January 2012 (has links)
This study addresses the design of a new cultural center in the Moravian Square – a polyfunctional object with a great concert hall, a small multifunctional hall with operating and technical facilities, parking, customer services for visitors, and areas for employees and musicians. Also, a restaurant & cafe is a part of this proposed project. New space replaces the unsatisfactory conditions of the current residence of Brno Filharmony in Besední dům – too small, unsatisfactory acoustics, and complicated operation. The cultural center, also, serves as a congress center that is currently missing in Brno - a city of trade fairs and exhibitions. The proposition respects the existing character of the park. The capacity of the new proposed design is from three-quarters underground, and therefore makes a way (nebo „space“) for greenery and pedestrians. The designed object consists of one ground and two underground levels. It has a simple shape with a greenery roof, and is incorporated into the existing spaces of the square. The distinctive element of the design is an open outside atrium in the first underground level. The facase is covered with boards (nebo „panels“) made out of Corian® material in a white shade of Glacier White in contrast to glass windows. The supporting construction is designed from monolithic iron concrete.
