This diploma thesis describes the current state of legal regulation and implementation of protective education in the Czech Republic. The first part contains the theoretical background of the whole work and deals with the terminological apparatus. It also contains psychological aspects of juvenile delinquency and history of criminal responsibility of children and adolescents in the Czech Republic. The second part contains the valid legislation of this particular with an accent on the issue of protective education. The third part describes current practice in institutional and protective education, with particular emphasis on placement and transfer of children and adolescents to individual facilities, which it specifies. Part Four examines the current aplicable rules in realization of protective education within a specific set of facilities and the legal regulations of juvenile delinquency in Slovakia. The fifth part describes the changes brought about by the new system of private law and the current proposals for changing the whole system of institutional education of children and youth. The aim of the study was to evaluate school children’s attitudes towards Physical Education in selected Mutare city schools. In order for the children to benefit from the Physical Education program, the study hypothesized that children must develop the right attitudes towards Physical Education. This observation has also been emphasized in other studies that children, who possess the right attitude towards Physical Education, develop positive attitudes towards physical activities. This suggestion has also been reported by Portman, (2003) and McKenzie (2003) that one of the benefits of Physical Education is sustained participation in physical activities outside the school. This study involved 400 children from Mutare Junior, Chancellor, Zamba, Dangamvura, Sakubva, Chikanga, Mutanda and Murahwa Primary Schools in Mutare city. The children’s age ranged between 12 - 14 years old. The primary data were collected from questionnaires, interviews and focus group discussions, while secondary data were based on related literature review. The results indicated that the teacher, curriculum content and delivery, the learning environment, siblings, type of school, location of residences, proximity of facilities and support from parents were some of the factors associated with children’s attitudes towards Physical Education and Physical Activity at school and home respectively. In many ways, these factors affected children’s sustainable participation in physical activities after school.

The diploma thesis Options of Selection and Development of Gifted Children at Primary School is devided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part contains processed information about giftedness based on professional literature. I paid attention to introduction of definitions of giftedness according to various authors, but I preferred those definitions that giftedness are understood as a reason for special eduction. It also includes chapters on the basic types of giftedness, possibly specific manifestations of gifted children and options of developing gifted children at primary school. The practical part of the diploma thesis consists of empirical materiál that at first describes the options of education and development of gifted children at Primar school V Rybníčkách. Subsequently I devoted myself to the analysis of the acquired empirical materiál that i get for my praxtical pedagogical work at the primary school. In the practical part of the thesis I also included a chapter where I presented tips for activities that provede to by suiteble in practice for the development of the potential of gifted children during classes and in leisure time activities. At the end of the diploma thesis I see our activities as stiulating but not entirely ideal.

The number of immigrants has been increasing in the Czech Republic. Along with adult immigrants come also their children and this causes an increase of foreigners in Czech schools. In this diploma thesis it is examined, in what way Prague primary schools cope with the increase of children foreigners in their classrooms. Through interviews and questionnaire survey it is observed what opinions and beliefs are taken by representatives of primary schools in Prague on the issue of foreigners in education, whether they have any specific conceptions that focus on helping foreigners with integration into the Czech school system and at the same time into the majority society. Considering the fact that the process of integration is complicated and during the process a number of obstacles usually occur, it depends not only on the activities of each particular school, but also on the degree of support from the state, and on a child-foreigner himself and on his family, whether the process of integration will eventually be successful or not.
