Efektivita a soukromé financování v sektoru veřejného vysokého vzdělávání České republiky / Efficiency and private financing in public higher education sector of the Czech Republic

Fidler, Vojtěch January 2015 (has links)
Public higher education in the Czech Republic is financed by general taxation. Due to permanent lack of financial sources in the sector, there should be sought alternative ways of financing, among which private financing is considered to be the best alternative. Nevertheless, it is important that these additional funds are managed efficiently. Thus, next to private financing, the thesis also studies efficiency of the sector as these two areas are interrelated. The results of private funding model indicate feasible realization with relatively low negative impact on private rate of return. Using DEA method, the efficiency analysis reveals that although Czech universities are teaching efficiently, they lack efficiency in research. This suggests that current financing scheme should be adjusted accordingly. Higher education is also studied from theoretical perspective and discussed are such topics as quality, mass education or the recent reform proposal.

Offering the gospel adapanon : an interpretation and application of 1 Corinthians 9:18 / J.M. Wessels

Wessels, Johannes Mattheus January 2010 (has links)
Albeit that often the only solution left to poor congregations in Africa is the practice of tentmaker ministry, this phenomenon remains problematic. There is a lack of job opportunities in the rural areas, and dividing one's time between the secular occupation and the ministry becomes increasingly complex. In the light of this situation, an (re–)evaluation of the Biblical foundations for being a tentmaker is certainly called for. Studies such as the book of Meggitt (1998), Paul, poverty and survival, stimulated renewed interest in the economic nature of Paul's ministry and the economic classes of the congregations where he ministered. Paul's offering of the gospel free of charge (1 Cor 9:18), and his sacrifice of "becoming a slave", offer interesting solutions for the poverty stricken churches in Africa, and in particular in Botswana. / Thesis (Ph.D. (New Testament))--North-West University, Potchefstroom Campus, 2011.

Zahraniční investice a jejich vliv na životní prostředí v ČR / Foreign investments and their influcence on the environment in the Czech Republic.

VONDRÁČKOVÁ, Martina January 2017 (has links)
This thesis focuses on the influence of foreign investment on the environment. Foreign investment is an important factor of economic growth, but it also has a number of negative aspects. The theoretical part describes the impact of foreign investment, the issue of environmental sustainability and of environmental policies, and the successes of the Integrated Pollution Register. The aim of this thesis was to verify the hypothesis that foreign investors violate the environmental legislation. A database of polluters in the Czech Republic was compiled based on ownership, and the extent of polluting by Czech and foreign investors was subsequently assessed. The practical part uses statistical and comparative methods to evaluate and compare the results.

Evaluace behaviorálního přístupu k vybraným částem hospodářské politiky s aplikací na Českou republiku. / Evaluation of behavioral insights with its aplication in the Czech Republic

Makovec, Petr January 2017 (has links)
Implementing behavioral insights into policy making goes along well with widespread effort for increased efficiency. From the public budget administrator point of view, this efficiency is crucial since it directly affects the current state of the budget. The theoretical part of this thesis consists of description of the most important parts of behavioral economics that can be used during the creation and setting of public policies. It also consists of brief description of current behavioral insights teams that are already using the insights representing more realistic behavior and decision making of individuals. In the analytical part of this thesis, I provide methodology of experiment evaluation as well as result extrapolation facets and risks. Those experiments usually take place before any reasonable extension is made. I also provide financial analysis of several experiments, should they be extended to larger group of individuals. In the last chapter of the analytical part, I discuss the possibilities of implementation of behavioral economics in the Czech Republic. Based on the calculations I ran, even a small change of the environment where people make decisions can significantly improve the results of the intervention, all that with minimal costs. It is however important to point out that not all behavioral insights inspirations end with success. Application of behavioral insights into policy making has got a great potential when it comes to the Czech Republic, as I show Using two examples from Health care and taxes revenues.

More is Less: The Political Economy of the MiFID Revision / More is Less: The Political Economy of the MiFID Revision

Mandić, Stefan January 2017 (has links)
The thesis titled "More is Less: The Political Economy of the MiFID Revision" aims to reveal to what extent different preferences of individual Member States on EU financial regulation affect the increase in complexity of financial legislative acts, concretely MiFID II. Using three theoretical building-blocks in a classical framework of political economy, we argue that divergence of member states is inherent to their different capitalist environments (Varieties of Capitalism). Aligning these differences with the common, harmonized regime can create costs and cause market disadvantages. Therefore, Member States try to push for as similar legislation to their own as possible, to minimize the costs. The result is a disproportionately long legislative act, that was crafted in a way to satisfy individual preferences of Member States, through discretionary provisions, exemptions and other. We also investigate how much harmonization the original MiFID established, asking if some provision became less complicated in MiFID II, owing to gradual convergence of Member State regimes.

Komparativní analýza systému opravných prostředků v civilním procesu v České republice a ve Španělském království z hlediska procesní ekonomie / Comparative analysis of system of remedies in civil proceedings in the Czech Republic and the Kingdom of Spain with respect to procedural economy

Zukal, Marek January 2017 (has links)
This Master's thesis provides an analysis of systems of remedial measures in civil disputes in the Czech Republic and the Kingdom of Spain. Used methods include comparative analysis and economic analysis of law. In the introductory chapter there are basic terms and sources of civil procedural law in both countries defined. The text devoted to remedial systems in general, their aims, legal and economic substance, basic forms (appellation, cassation and revision system), their advantages and disadvantages follows. Crucial part of the thesis is comparison of particular remedies, especially appeal (odvolání) and recurso de apelación introduced in chapter 3. A conclusion that Spanish system is much more complicated than the Czech one emerges from the comparison. This affects procedural economy negatively. Yet there are some elements, whose reception to Czech legislation should be considered, because it has potential to improve economic effectivness of remedial proceedings. In the end of the thesis there are author's de lege ferenda deliberations emerging from prior comparation and from economic analysis introduced. While reading the thesis, one must keep in mind that there are differences not only between the Czech and Spanish legislation de lege lata, but also between particular civil procedural law...

Ekonomie a informace / Economics and Information

Nohejl, Jiří January 2008 (has links)
Thesis "Economics and Information" advances a consistent theoretic concept of information as part of economic theory. In contrast of contemporary semantic confusions about information in economics this thesis tries to build a meaningful theory based on classical economic studies and conception of information in system theory. The first part is concerned with methodological foundation and contemporary methodological problems of information in economic theory. These issues are crucial for presenting methodological individualism and subjectivism as fundamental approach to understanding role of information in social sciences. This leads to human action as basic framework for studying information. Next part of the thesis describes few basic approaches to information in economics. In comparison with neoclassical views like information asymmetry this thesis propose own praxeology based concept of information. This concept shows information in its duality as a resource of human activities, but also as objective of human action. This duality as resource and objective connect information to concepts of interpretation, knowledge and dynamic processes. The final part of the thesis applies theoretical concepts to economic policy issues and institutional problems.

Československá politická a ekonomická transformace pohledem teorií institucionální ekonomie / Czechoslovak political and economic transformation in view of institutional economics theories

Kuchař, Pavel January 2009 (has links)
The diploma thesis looks into the matter of political and economic transformation of Czechoslovakia and Czech Republic through lenses of institutional economics theories. It claims that the transformation measures did not consider the social embeddedness within cultural and historical limitations. The first part of the paper defines the methodology of institutional economics based mainly on Ronald Coase's and Oliver Williamson's work. The following part aims to draw an image of historical and political context of Czechoslovak transformation. The compatibility of conditions, goals and means of the transformation is being considered in the third part. Finally, the work structures and evaluates World Bank's data set that forms an important part of endogenous influences of institutionalisation. The conclusion judges the outcome of political and economical transformation rather critically.
