Bartánus, Radovan January 2019 (has links)
This diploma thesis covers the design and implementation of changes and extension modules of a chosen information system, used in JUDr. Ján Bartánus's attorney office in Ružomberok. The system, implemented as a web application based on the Symfony framework, is dedicated to the simplyfing, monitoring and organization of the work processes in a generic attorney office located in the Slovak Republic. For the purposes of a correct design, the thesis contains an analysis of the current state of the given attorney office, the environment in which it operates, its information system and existing solutions. Tools that were used to conduct the analysis were the SLEPT method, Porter's five forces, model 7S and SWOT matrix. Based on the results of the analyses, a change of the system has been designed, which entails an upgrade of the system, its user interface, integration of the register of companies of Slovak Republic and an extension module intended for the financial valuation of work performed by an attorney. The application has been developed utilizing the PHP and JavaScript programming language. The valuation module integrates the Google Maps API. The stability and speed of the system were tested by functional tests and profiling of the duration of HTTP requests. The main contribution of this thesis is the design and implementation of an extension of the information system, which can be used in any arbitrary attorney office situated in the Slovak Republic, and its practical application in the chosen company. This thesis builds on a previous thesis dedicated to the design and implementation of the information system, which is being extended in this diploma thesis.

Govind, . 12 December 2018 (has links)
Our society has been rapidly growing its presence on the Web, as a consequence we are digitizing a large collection of our daily happenings. In this scenario, the Web receives virtual occurrences of various events corresponding to their real world occurrences from all around the world. Scale of these events can vary from locally relevant ones up to those that receive global attention. News and social media of current times provide all essential means to reach almost a global diffusion. This big data of complex societal events provide a platform to many research opportunities for analyzing and gaining insights into the state of our society. In this thesis, we investigate a variety of social event impact analytics tasks. Specifically, we address three facets in the context of events and the Web, namely, diffusion of events in foreign languages communities, automated classification of Web contents, and news virality assessment and visualization. We hypothesize that the named entities associated with an event or a Web content carry valuable semantic information, which can be exploited to build accurate prediction models. We have shown with the help of multiple studies that raising Web contents to the entity-level captures their core essence, and thus, provides a variety of benefits in achieving better performance in diverse tasks. We report novel findings over disparate tasks in an attempt to fulfill our overall goal on societal event impact analytics.

Hybridní nesoulady po směrnici ATAD Teoretické aspekty mezinárodní spolupráce v daňových věcech / Hybrid Mismatches After the ATAD Theoretical Aspects of International Cooperation in Tax Matters

Hrdlička, Lukáš January 2020 (has links)
Hybrid Mismatches After the ATAD Theoretical Aspects of International Cooperation in Tax Matters Abstract This dissertation argues that the current approach toward hybrid mismatches, i.e. linking rules, is ineffective and that EU Member States should consider and adopt other solutions to hybrid mismatches, in particular coordination rules, to achieve single taxation of cross-border income if it is their tax policy goal. I make this argument to help tax policymakers deal properly with hybrid mismatches while also achieving greater legal certainty for taxpayers and tax administrators. While pursuing my claim, I touch on the essential elements of current international taxation, describe certain sets of hybrid mismatches, discuss policy implications of hybrid mismatches' outcomes, and show what linking rules are and that they have many shortcomings. Consequently, I discuss various alternative solutions to hybrid mismatches and point out that coordination rules can be a better method to pursue. Using the preparatory discussion, I examine the Czech anti-hybrid mismatches rules and argue that EU Member States can, to some extent, still use coordination rules as a solution to hybrid mismatches under the ATAD. My analysis leads to practical and theoretical conclusions. I show that the academic literature does not...
