This diploma thesis aims to explore the influence of psychological and ethical aspects of advertising on human psyche. In the theoretical part is its reader informed about the contribution of psychology to the creation of effective advertising., there are described the forms of advertising and the psychological theories of motivation. Ethics in advertising, advertising, self-regulation and the Code of advertising are specified here. Moderate interviews in practical part of this thesis are used for revealing the factors affecting the reception of advertising. Individual moderate interview are done with ten persons. These peorsons are not differentiated according any specific criteria. In this thesis is given a view what people consider as ethical and what they think about the ethical issues in advertising. The main contribution of the research is verification of people's different opinions of ethical issues.

The diploma thesis focuses on ethical aspects of social-pedagogical work of workers in helping professions and has theoretical-empirical character. The aim of the thesis is to explore the ethical dimension of socio-pedagogical work and to find out which tools are used by helping professionals in decision making and in coping with ethical dilemmas considering ethical codes and principles. The theoretical part deals in individual chapters with the topic of socio- pedagogical work, professional ethics and also describes the role of the worker in helping professions and his relationship with the client. The professional values are examined based on analyses of codes of ethics and in the final chapters of the theoretical part the diploma thesis focuses on ethically problematic areas and related ethical dilemmas encoured by workers in helping professions. The empirical part offers by analysing the semi-structured interviews with workers an extension of the theoretical knowledge of the ethical aspects of social- pedagogical work on the dimension of the experience of the workers in the helping professions themselves and presents their strategies in solving and processing ethically dilemmatic situations. The diploma thesis deals with modern English fantasy tales for children and their role with respect to ethical context and moral mission. The first part is a general introduction to child heroes´ experience, their notion of Good and Evil and their attitude to given rules, conventions and circumstances. The practical part deals with particular interpretations of the issue, the theme of the so called other world and the concept of authority not only as a moral example but also as a tool of power and manipulation. The thesis is based on the analysis of particular stories by British authors (C.S. Lewis, P. Pullman, and J.K. Rowling), in which different points of view are shown. The summary brings final conclusions about what the stories have in common.

The work deals with topic of cultural relativism. The first chapter is concerned with concept of cultural relativism, its understanding, definitions, its connection with other conceptions of relativism, i.e. ethical and cognitive relativism. The second part concentrates on finding of philosophical roots, which became the fundamental presumptions for origin of cultural relativism, whereas the second part contains the chapter about history of cultural anthropology, which treats of establishment of cultural relativism as the one of the most fundamental concept of cultural anthropology. The third section foreshadows current debates dealing with cultural relativism. The critical perspective is applied to arguments and objections for or contra cultural relativism appearing in the work. And equally there is the treatise of role of cultural relativism in anthropological practises.

The thesis deals with the influence of media on social work. Emphasis is placed on the media and the ethical principles of mass communication. The aim is to explore the mechanisms that the media use to influence the recipients, which functions the media have in society, how we can classify recipients of media messages, what can influence the final form of communication, and whether the ethical principles of journalism and the ethical principles of social work have the same foundation so media can serve the fulfilment of the mission of social work. The work is divided into three parts. The first part focuses on the characteristics of the media, the public and media communications. The basic concepts of media studies are mentioned. The second part focuses on the ethics of the media. A normative theory of media behaviour is introduced and also why it is important that the media should be responsible for their behaviour and their messages and should be controlled by ethical instruments have e. g. in the form of Ethical Code of Journalists in the Czech Republic. The third part is more focused on social work and clarifies the relationship between media and social work. The last part includes current topics that fall into social work activities and which are widely publicized. The aim is to interpret the behaviour of the media in relation to social work.

Etické problémy na odděleních psychiatrické nemocnice / Ethics at the wards of psychiatric hospital

Thesis deals with the ethical problems at the wards of psychiatric hospital. The environment of a psychiatric hospital in the context of its target group psychiatric patients is a source of ethically important situations, which must be solved by the medical social worker. This puts high demands on the worker as he is the/an executive tool of medical social work.The goal of the thesis is to identify ethically important situations, to suggest their solution and eventually to reflect these solutions with the ethical theories, ethical codes, inner rules of the psychiatric hospital and other statutory norms. The structure of the thesis is adjusted to this goal: first, I define the environment of the hospital, describe the target group and medical social worker profession. Secondly, I describe ethical problems identified before, suggest their solutions and reflect them. Finally, in the last part of the thesis, in the discussion, I contemplate about preliminary ethical understanding as a basis for identification of the ethical problems and I ponder other factors that matters in reaching the remedies of ethical problems.

The thesis is focused on quality standards in social services with the view to clarify the ethical dilemmas that occur in providing client care in elderly homes. Firstly, the work focuses on the transformation of social services of the Czech Republic at the turn of the 20th and 21st century, the emergence of Act no. 108/2006 of Social services, from which emerged for social service providers a legal obligation to create and follow standard of quality that are defined further. Subsequently the thesis continues with the ethics of social work and social workers' Code of Ethics, which sets out the values and ethical principles for their work. This is followed by the description of the ethical dilemmas and ethical issues directly determining the target group of clients who use services of homes for the elderly. This group is also described. The last part of the thesis deals with reflection of concrete ethical dilemmas. Provided dilemmas are solved by standards of quality created by the team of workers working in home for the elderly clients, who in 2012 successfully passed inspections of social services.

This thesis deals with the ethical standards that should be comply by Czech employers in the context of third country nationals' employment. The theoretical part is focused on labor migration and on the process of third country nationals' employment in the Czech Republic. It also refers to the main points of business ethics within the relationship between employer and employees. The practical part of thesis contains a general summary of current ethical rules that should be respected by employers. In the next section there is, in specific cases described the current state of ethical standards within the relationship between employers and interviewed employees, who belong to the third country nationals group.
