The acceptation of a single currency has an influencial impact on the economy of the country, especially on its financial market. This work examines all parts of finacial market of the Eurozone, assesses their state of development and compares it with the situation in the Czech Republic. The work also tries to estimate the impacts, that the acceptance of a single currency will bring to Czech financial market, and where it is possible, it uses the experience of Slovenia, which has adopted euro in 2007 and its economy is very similar to that of Czech Republic. The work finds out that the Eurozone has achieved a significant progress in the integration of its financial market, an improvement in its liquidity, costs of security issues and other aspects as well. Adoption of the euro in Slovenia has been successfull and it was not accompanied by substantial problems, except for an increase in inflation. However, the expected progress in the development of financial market is not observable yet, althought this fact may be attributed to many other external reasons, too. Finally the conslusion of this work implicates, that the Czech Republic has the oportunity to benefit from participating in a large integrated financal market and achieve a progress, that would never be possible if it remained separate.

The access to the monetary union has many advantages for the country. A foreign trade is the most reflected indicator of the euro impact on the economy of a certain country. It has an important role in every economy. The main aim of this diploma thesis is to identify the effects of the euro on the development of the foreign trade of euro area countries. At the same time the main aim is to confirm or refute the fact, that the introduction of the euro is capable of influencing the development of export efficiency of individual euro area economies. The theoretical part explains the concepts of the payment balance and also the assessment of the situation before and after the introduction of euro.

The aim of this thesis is the euro as a common curency of selected member states of the European Union, that create a eurozone or euroclub. Information about the impact of this currency into the eurozone and specially the Slovak Republic should bring the conclusions that could make this process for the Czech Republic- by useful advices- transparent and easier. The thesis is based on method of comparison of what happened in the today eurozone before the euro and after it. Gained facts are used as a guideline to prepare suitable advices that are mentioned in the text and especially in the last chapter. The thesis is composed of four chapters, each of them dealing with different aspects of what was before euro and what the euro is and how it functions in changing circumstances in the background of world economic depression and fiscal problems in many EU member states. Thesis also describes the authorities responsible for euro in the European and Slovak level. Chapter One is introductory and describes the history of process, that had led during many phases and good or bad periods of time through different concepts into the definitive result called euro. Proces evropské měnové integrace v podobě eurozóny je dlouhodobý proces a přístup jednotlivých členských zemí je značně odlišný. Cílem této diplomové práce je porovnat dnešní situaci v jednotlivých 10 nových členských zemí EU (České republice, Estonsku, Kypru, Litvě, Lotyšsku, Maďarsku, Maltě, Polsku, Slovensku a Slovinsku) týkající se budoucího přijetí eura, tzn. jak plní maastrichtská kritéria a v jaké fázi praktických příprav na jednotnou evropskou měnu se nacházejí. Práce je nejvíce zaměřena na aspekty přistoupení ČR k eurozóně.

Práce se zabývá problematikou vstupu České republiky do eurozóny a mírou plnění kurzového konvergenčního kriteria. Je zde zmíněn historický vývoj měnové integrace, přínosy a náklady spojené s přijetím eura a předpoklady přistoupení k eurozóně. Pozornost textu je věnována charakteristice kurzového konvergenčního kriteria, mechanismu směnných kurzů ERM/ERM II a dosavadním zkušenostem s plněním kurzového konvergenčního kriteria ve státech eurozóny. Hlavní důraz práce je kladen na problematiku plnění kurzového kriteria v České republice. Pozornost je věnována komparaci vývoje směnného kurzu české koruny vůči euru a vybraných měn členských zemí EU a též prognóze budoucího vývoje.
