Teoretické a praktické aspekty budování vnitřního trhu Evropské unie / Theoretical and practical aspects of building an internal market in the European UnionŠevčíková, Michaela January 2011 (has links)
The thesis deals with theoretical and practical aspects of building an internal market in the European Union. It makes a theoretical reflection of European economic integration, identifies the forms of economic integration and analyses individual theoretical concepts. The thesis concentrates on analyzing the fundamental strategic documents which influenced the process of building an internal market. The thesis investigates the four basic freedoms - freedom of movement of goods, services, labour and capital - which are necessary preconditions for an effective functioning of an internal market. It analyses achievement of an internal market in practice, identifies its most fundamental obstacles and offers possible solutions that would remove them. The paper also offers a comparison of efficiency of economies of the European Union, the United States and China.

Politická ekonomie v evropské bezpečnosti: Vliv industrialistů na formování ESDP / Political Economy of European Security: A Role of Industrialists in forming the ESDPVacík, Lukáš January 2012 (has links)
The thesis aims to determine the scope and extent of the European defence industrial sector influence on the process of European defence formation, or more precisely in the field of defence and security cooperation (ESDP/CSDP). The question of the European defence sector's role in shaping the defence and security cooperation in Europe has not been properly explored, thereby it provides an ideal topic of choice for my thesis, The thesis is divided into three main parts: the introduction, the analysis consisting of five sections and finally the conclusion. The thesis analyzes an industrial sector itself, while exploring the process of creation of internal market within the framework of the Roundtable of European Industrialist initiative. It then moves on to discuss the European military industrial complex and it argues for the need to introduce a new term "European Defence Industrialists" in order to improve our understanding of defence cooperation in the EU. As for the thesis theoretical approach, a classical IR theoretical approach in general and classical theoretical take on European integration have proved insufficient. Therefore, the thesis explores the specific environment of European industrial sector with the aid of the liberal economics approaches. In so doing, it establishes that liberal...

Vliv zahraniční a sousedské politiky EU na sousední země: případ Moldavska / Influence of EU's foreign and neighbourhood policy on neighbouring countries: The Case of MoldovaKohút, Jakub January 2016 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with the relations between European Union and Republic of Moldova. It presents the EU as a unique entity within European territory, which influences its neighbourhood through "soft power", i. e. through peaceful means. Although such means are not binding and legally enforceable, they have certain impact on countries concerned. The thesis aims at examining to what extent the Republic of Moldova is influenced by these means. A special attention is given to transmission of those values and norms, which are the most important for EU (democracy, rule of law, human rights protection, etc.). The issue is seen from a social constructivist perspective.

Contribution of space R&D expenditures to the economic growth of the EUPerić, Silvija January 2018 (has links)
The thesis explores quantitative relationship between space R&D expenditures and economic growth of the EU Member States. So far, there hasn’t been done quantitative research on the causal relationship of these two variables in Europe. The paper attempts to compose appropriate review of the previous research and to find the best method to evaluate the aforementioned relationship. It presents limitations in available literature in this field, as well as limitations in suitable methodology and available data. For our panel dataset we chose Granger causality. The results of the research show that there is no significant quantitative relationship - space expenditures per capita don’t Granger cause real GDP per capita, and vice versa. In the end, we provide recommendations for the EU policy, as well as for the national policies. Researchers should try to use unified time periods as well as corresponding type of data, measures, and methodology.

From the analysis of historical and contemporary data author infers not only possible scenarios of the future relationship between the Great Britain and Europe, but also the influence of this member state on the development of the EU.

ESA - překážka pro další supranacionalizaci? / ESA - A Hindrance for Further Supranationalization?Farkač, Martin January 2018 (has links)
The aim of this masters thesis is to assess the relation between two organizations with competences towards the European space policy that happen to be in dispute over these competences - the European Union (EU) and the European Space Agency (ESA). The main research question asks whether the ESA hinders further supranationalization of the space matters within the EU framework and the research uses the lenses of the theory of the rational design which highlights the importance of the Member States as the decisive actors in this question who have to incline one way or the other. This thesis examines relevant documents issued by the EU and the ESA, as well as at the positions of the Member States of the European Space Agency with regard to this dispute, and concludes that the ESA indeed hinders further supranationalization of the space matters within the EU framework because it goes against the positions and interests of the Member States. The hindrance reaches the level that the only thing the Member States are willing to do is to adjust the financial procedures in respect to the programmes run by ESA and funded by the EU to ensure their efficient implementation complying with EU rules.

Legislativní proces v Evropské unii: Evropská občanská iniciativa / Legislative Process in the European Union: European Citizens' InitiativeHouda, Ondřej January 2013 (has links)
This thesis is embedded in the theoretical approach of multilevel governance and presumption of the rational behaviour of actors. Using the method of process tracing it aims to uncover the legislative process in the European Union. It is a single case study and as a case was chosen the negotiation of the regulation of the citizens' initiative. Various actors were involved in the negotiations, this thesis focuses on the main one - European Commission, European Parliament, the Council, interest organisations and national parliaments. The thesis presumed, that all actors will try to push through their interests based on their rational choice. This presumption was verified, although the success rate of the players varied a lot. As the most successful should be considered the European Parliament, who defended the interests of the individuals and the Council, which apparently represented the interests of the governments of the member states (especially in the issues of lowering the bureaucratic burden). The interest organisations showed their positions clearly, however the Commission did not take their positions much into account while preparing the draft regulation. The position of the national parliaments was different then presumed. Although the thesis expected them to be directly involved in the...

Stálá strukturovaná spolupráce a Evropská intervenční iniciativa jako předstupně jednotné evropské armády / Permanent Structured Cooperation and European Intervention Initiative as Preludes of a Single European ArmyUrban, Patrik January 2021 (has links)
The master's thesis focuses on the potential of two recently launched initiatives, The Permanent Structured Cooperation and The European Intervention Initiative, to serve as preludes of the single European army. Both initiatives shared high expectations as vehicles for a relaunch of integration in defence domain in Europe, but do they really move the efforts in this respect forward? To study the two projects, we establish a unique theoretical measurement of defence and security integration, based on the realist concept of the alliance and constructivist concept of the security community. We then ask what constructivist theoretical model for the study of defence integration fits The Permanent Structured Cooperation best, and analogically, which archetype is the most suitable for The European Intervention Initiative. Based on the theoretical underpinnings, we carry out an empirical analysis of both initiatives to find out what novelties they bring to the area of defence. We focused mainly on their governance, institutional fabric and funding. Special attention was paid to varying level of pooled sovereignty. The thesis is built on the content analysis of primary sources and where appropriate on relevant secondary literature.
