This diploma thesis deals with the question of export support for small and medium enterprises in the context of international trade of the Czech Republic. It presents a comprehensive study of the development of foreign trade of the Czech Republic since 1993 to the present, focusing especially on the role of small and medium-sized enterprises and their importance for the whole economy. Fruther it maps the availability of both state and private export support services which are consequently compared with actual needs, identified through own research among small and medium-sized enterprises. On these basis possible modifications leading to more efficient and transparent system are recommended with ambitions to improve the export performance of small and medium-sized enterprises.

The diploma thesis deals with analysis of special economic zones in India and China. First, the general characteristics of special economic zones is given, the following section describes conditions of creation of special economic zones in China and India. Then the thesis focuses on the development of gross domestic product, foreign direct investments and exports in Chinese and Indian zones and relevant areas. The final chapter assesses the benefits of setting up special economic zones for India and China and compares the zones in both countries. The thesis finds out the development of special economic zones in China successful, while in India this policy did not reach satisfactory results. Fundamental roots of successful or unsuccessful functioning of Chinese and Indian zones are mentioned too.

This thesis has been made in order to devise a suitable export strategy for the company Petra-Aqua Ltd. on the Austrian market. First two chapters contain theory needed for understanding the issues of export strategy. The third chapter deals with trade with animals. The fourth chapter contains information about the company and its market position. The fifth chapter is devoted to the analysis of the Austrian market. PEST analysis, competition analysis and SWOT analysis are also parts of this chapter. In the last, sixth chapter, is a concrete proposal for the company's export strategy.

The topic of this thesis is the analysis of export opportunities for the tomotherapy irradiator TOMOS. The first part of the thesis addresses new emerging methods of radiation therapy focusing on the research and development of tomotherapy irradiator in particular and the availability of radiation therapy in the world in general. The second part of the thesis provides financial analysis of the tomotherapy research and development project which is executed to evaluate the effectiveness of the project as an investment. Finally, the thesis concludes with the proposition of the most convenient export strategy indicating the perspective territories for trading the tomotherapy irradiator together with the most influential factors for each territory considered.

The thesis focuses on a detailed analysis of the Austrian market and identifies the current export opportunities for Czech business units. Moreover it also includes an analysis of the mutual trade exchange between the Czech Republic and Austria. The thesis is highly practically oriented and provides opinions, advice and different perspectives and points of view of experts, successful Czech companies already acting on the Austrian market and also Austrian companies, which cooperate with Czech partners on a daily basis. The aim is to provide up-to-date information about the Austrian market, advice on how to succeed and recommendations, what to avoid when entering the market.

The aim of the thesis is to compare the conditions and procedures for granting export project financing between the Czech Republic and Sweden. The theoretical part includes three chapters. In the first chapter, I explain the nature and structure of the project finance. In the second chapter, I analyze the institutions providing export financing in the Czech Republic and their financial products that can be applied in this case. In the third chapter, I analogously analyze the system of export financing in Sweden. In the practical part, I show on the imaginary business case how the export project finance is realized by Czech export credit institution (CEB) on one side and the Swedish export credit institution(SEK) on the other. In conclusion, I summarize the similarities and differences resulted from the performed comparison.

Tubulin is the basic building block of microtubules which ensure intracellular transport, morphological changes, the connection of proteins of metabolic pathways, the segregation of chromosomes during mitosis and many other essential processes in plant cells. The localization of tubulin regarding nucleus is strictly controlled and during the interphase, tubulin is usually not present in the nucleus. As we previously showed, one of the exceptions of the presence of tubulin in the nucleus is the cold stress condition. Also, we discovered several plant-specific nuclear export sequences (NES) in tubulin molecules: one in α-tubulin and two in β-tubulin. In this work I found that double mutation of both functional β-tubulin NESes cause slight accumulation of the protein in the nuclei. However, the phenotype of the transgenic plants expressing β-tubulin with mutations is probably not affected by the presence of the mutated protein. The effect of the expression of the mutated β-tubulins was observed in Nicotiana tabacum BY-2 cells as well. The expression of β-tubulin carrying a single NES3 mutation or double mutation of both NESes bring changes of the division activity of the cells, while the NES2 mutation does not have any effect. This thesis presents a comparison of export support systems in the Czech Republic and the United States of America. The emphasis is put mainly on functioning of the system of state-supported export finance and subsequent presentation of two types of export credit institutions - Czech Export Bank, plc. and Export and Import Bank of the United States. Both institutions are described in the theoretical part. In the practical part the theoretical knowledge is applied in a fictional business case.

The thesis focuses on the impact of the banking regulation Basel III on bank-intermediated trade finance. The theoretical part of the thesis explains details of Basel III requirements, history of Basel Accords and their future in the form of Basel IV, characteristics of trade finance products and of the whole industry. Trade finance industry voiced worries about the negative effect that these new requirements might have on trade finance business. The thesis estimates determinants of bank-intermediated trade finance and includes a regulatory variable. We use trade finance data from the Czech Republic and Hong Kong in 2000−2014 and from India in 2007−2014. A negative effect of Basel III on trade finance growth is found using pooled OLS regression. Contrary to previous research, we also estimate a negative coefficient of banks' capital to assets ratios. To the best of our knowledge, the thesis provides the first empirical analysis of the impact of Basel III on trade finance. Trade finance research usually focuses more on the relationship of trade finance and trade flows and the thesis provides an extensive literature summary of this topic. The final part of the thesis contrasts different levels of risk of trade finance and shows that the imputed low-riskiness does not apply to the Czech data.
