This research searched to analyse how management activities are developed at the Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Rio Grande do Norte Campus São Paulo do Potengi (IFRN SPP) and how they approach the model proposed by Senge. For this purpose, the research acquired a quantitative and qualitative approach with descriptive focus based on case study. Interviews were conducted and administered questionnaire with 17 managers and responsibles for units. Some variables were chosen with the purpose to characterize the institute as a Learning Organization. The results indicated the practices of managers of IFRN-SPP are not in complete agreement with the proposed model, since it was identifield an unbalance among the five disciplines, especially the Fifth Discipline which exposed the worst performance being followed by the Shared Vision. However, since were two disciplines with High Degree of agreement and with a Medium Level of agreement if the theme is well worked in the institution, the performance of subjects who had unfavourable outcomes could be improved and the IFRN-SPP will have chances to be a Learner Institution.

Children chatting- communication between two social settings

Martinson, Tiina January 2003 (has links)
Chat communication has been investigated within the frames of 5thD (Fifth Dimension). The study is based in field-material from two chat sessions, between children in Ronneby-Barcelona and Ronneby-Denver. During the chats there was plenty of interaction between children and, assistants, which is illustrated with the help of patterns of communication. The analysis of the data shows that chat is more than an interaction between two persons, it even connects two social settings. The thesis also deals with the question of how to create meaningful chat, since this did not occur in an entirely satisfactory way during the above-mentioned chats.

The Personality Pattern of Hyperactive Boys: Adjustments in Internality, Self-Esteem, and Anxiety

Bolton, Ronald Eugene 12 1900 (has links)
During the past 80 years, similar descriptions of a hyperactive behavior pattern in children have appeared in medical, educational, and psychological literature. Hyperactivity has been conceptualized as a character disorder, an organic disorder, and, most recently, as a behavior disorder. In this study, hyperactivity was explained in interactional terms, using Rotter's social learning theory of personality. Little consideration has been given in research to the influence of an abnormally high activity level upon personality development during childhood. The purpose of this study was to investigate the general influence of negative interactions associated with hyperactivity upon the organization of four personality constructs: locus of control, self-esteem, trait anxiety, and state anxiety.
