Avsikten med detta arbete har varit att undersöka huruvida någon prestandaskillnad föreligger mellan nätverksnodernas vidarebefordring av prioriterad trafik i en nätverksmiljö med Quality of service-funktioner (QoS) implementerade och nätverksnodernas arbete i samma nätverksmiljö med separata, virtuella nätverk uppsatta med hjälp av Virtual routing and forwarding (VRF). Målet var att resultatet ska ha möjlighet att väga in när för- och nackdelar mellan olika sätt att separera nätverkstrafik jämförs ur prestandasynpunkt. Rapporten beskriver arbetet med samt resultatet av ett empiriskt experiment som kontrollerade VRF:ers påverkan på QoS-funktioner. Ett fysiskt nätverk sattes upp för att kontrollera hur QoS påverkades av logisk separering av experimentmiljöns nätverk på lager tre med hjälp av VRF. I detta nätverk utfördes även ett kontrollexperiment utan logisk separation för att skapa en baseline samt ett experiment där separering utfördes med hjälp av accesslistor. För varje experimentfas skickades en videoström genom experimentmiljön för att mäta End to end delay, Packet loss och Jitter, samt webbside requests för att upp mäta Round trip time. Detta testförfarande utfördes tre gånger per experimentfas.   I experimenten kunde ingen Packet loss uppmätas vilket tyder på att QoS fungerade som avsett, även med VRF. Vissa förändringar för nätverksnoderna behövde genomföras beroende på teknik, vilket gjorde att det blev svårt att dra en slutsats av resultaten för End to end delay, Jitter och Round trip time.

The goal of this diploma thesis is to define the maritime container transport and some of the important aspects, which are closely related to it. The next goal is to describe the single steps of the maritime container transport (LCL) from port in Hong Kong, to compare import of LCL consignment from port in Hong Kong or port in Nansha and to decide which of these option is better for the customer in Czech republic, speaking of time and cost view. This goal is shown on the specific business case in DB Schenker company.

The diploma thesis deals with the main risks of dangerous goods transportation and ways of their minimization. The thesis devotes a new form of internal training of SCHENKER's employees about regulations concerning dangerous goods transportation as the way to enhance their security.

This diploma thesis analyses the marketing strategy of RALU, s.r.o. company which operates in the field of international transport and forwarding. The theoretical part is elaborated from the standpoint of the analysis of external and internal organization's environment, marketing strategy and different parts of the marketing mix. The practical part, which is based on theoretical knowledge included in the first part, contains the general characteristic of the company RALU, the position within its competitive environment, analysis of its existing marketing mix and particularly the quantitative research. Based on the results of the conducted research the conclusion deals with the evaluation of the current marketing strategy of the company and it recommends some potential improvements for changes.

This diploma thesis describes ocean freight LCL export shipment from the Czech republic to USA. Freight forwarder not only arranges the transportation, he can also offer complementary services like warehousing, packing or customs clearance of shipment. After definition of freight forwarding I described current situation on the ocean freight transportation market, especially infrastrucuture and means of transportation. There are more strict rules for shipments imported to USA. In cooperation with customs declaration I tried to describe all the steps, that are necessary to start arranging export shipment. The last part of diploma thesis describes specific business case of arranging LCL export shipment to USA.

This thesis addresses various concerns of maritime and rail transport of goods between East Asia and the Czech Republic. Its conceptual part outlines the present situation of sea freight transportation with the emphasis on the container use. Furthermore, the thesis describes the rail infrastructure between East Asia and Europe. In the how-to part, the author describes working procedures of an actual freight forwarding company carrying out an import shipment from China into the Czech Republic, utilising ocean and rail carriers. The last part of the thesis contains a summary of the main differences when employing various types of transport, and of their comparison based on the time of the shipment and on its cost.

The thesis is to provide comprehensive efficiency analysis of road transport intermediaries in terms of international trade between the Commonwealth of Independent States and the European Union. The analysis establishes particular patterns and provides solutions of how to increase financial effectiveness of the supply chain in case freight forwarding companies are involved in the process.

This thesis explores the combined subjects of keep alive forwarding, denial of service attacks and decentralized congestion control. In a society where the technical requirements on vehicles constantly escalate; inter-vehicle communication has risen as a potential springboard for new technologies. The ETSI ITS-G5 standard is a vehicular ad-hoc network standard that offers manufacturers the possibility to include a feature called keep alive forwarding. This feature lets the nodes forward messages on a pre-defined time interval even if the original broadcaster is no longer present. As this feature might provide exploits for potential people with malicious intent it has been evaluated how resilient the standard might be in such a situation. Also included in this thesis is the decentralized congestion control, a feature required by the standard. To evaluate these features a series of simulations has been performed where vehicles in a highway scenario have been exposed to a denial of service attack where the attacker uses the keep-alive forwarding as an exploit. The findings are that decentralized congestion control does mitigate some of the direct consequences of such an attack. Although it does not eliminate these entirely and new problems are introduced. Finally, alternative methods to perform keep alive forwarding are suggested to enhance this feature.

This diploma thesis is aimed at company information systems. It contains an analysis of the current state of the information system in the logistic company. Based on the analysis there's a proposal for possible changes prepared, offering the right future direction of the company, which may lead to strenghtening of the company position on the market.

An issue of operational risk management is in modern times an important topic to resolve. Modern fast time, which brings a number of changes may affect the occurrence of risks that may have impact on operating activities of a company. This fact, however, does not depend on the company characteristics like: size, business sector and other factors. Risks are ubiquitous in a business because a business is a very risky activity. Every company should therefore have a risk management system or a procedure to deal with them. This thesis focuses on an analysis of issues of an operational risk management, the current situation in the transport sector and the risks arising from specifics of the transportation sector. Further analysis of risk in specific transport-forwarding company is based on previously conducted analysis. The output of this work is to propose countermeasures to prevent the effects of identified risks or to propose a general procedure for the operational risk management of companies operating in the transport sector.
