Para tanto, investigamos, também, alguns dos temas mais importantes do pensamento de Jaspers, como situações-limite, existência e transcendência. Inicialmente, apresentamos uma síntese da descrição que Jaspers propõe a respeito do ser que eu mesmo sou, das dimensões humanas que se referem ao mundo ou, em outras palavras, dos modos de ser “existência empírica”, “consciência em geral” e “espírito”. A partir do esclarecimento da situação fundamental do homem Ŕ ser-em-situação - destacamos a necessidade que referidas estruturas têm de estarem referidas a um sentido, de terem apoio, limites e imagens de mundo. Tratamos, então, das situações-limite, que subtraem de nossos pés o chão em que vivemos, os apoios e os abrigos que tínhamos para manter nossa existência empírica, para pensar e criar e, nas quais, fracassam os modos de ser que se referem ao mundo. Ainda no primeiro capítulo, observamos as reações ao fracasso que se experimenta nas situações-limite, dentre as quais destacamos o reconhecimento de si como existência. Essa dimensão despertada pelo fracasso se localiza entre mundo e transcendência. Exploramos o sentido de existência para Jaspers e como ele se articula com as ideias de transcendência e de ser-si-mesmo. Por sim, desenvolvemos a pergunta sobre o agir diante do fracasso. Neste agir especial não apenas me envolvo com o mundo, mas o faço à luz da transcendência, em vista da exigência absoluta. O fracasso se revela não apenas como ruína e aniquilação, mas como possível inicio de um processo em que se revela o ser e no qual se pode realizar um movimento em relação ao infinito. ______________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT / The present dissertation brings forward the objective of presenting “foundering” as a theme in Karl Jaspers‟ Philosophy, especially regarding his Philosophy of Existence‟s texts. As we deal with foundering, we will perceive some of the most important subjects of Jaspers‟ thought, as boundary situations, existence, transcendence and self-being. Initially, we present a synthesis of human dimensions which refer to the world, or, in other words, of the modes of Being “Dasein”, “consciousness-as-such” and “spirit”. From the enlightening of the fundamental situation of man - being-in-situation Ŕ we highlight the need of referring to a meaning, of having support, limits and images of the world that those structures have. That leads us to the boundary situations, which withdraw from our feet the support we had so far and removes the shelter in which we kept our Dasein, in which we could think and create. In these situations the modes of Being we referred to before founder. We‟ll also mention the reactions to foundering, among which we stress the recognition of existence (Existenz), the dimension that refers to the world and to transcendence and that only comes out on confrontation to boundary situations. Then, we explore the meaning of existence and how it relates to transcendence and self-being. Finally, we develop the question about acting in the face of foundering, about how we act when we recognize ourselves as existence. In this special action, not only I implicate myself in the world, but also do it in the light of transcendence and before unconditional exigency. This action brings infinite to finite, for this special action has no commitment to the modes of Being that refer to the world, but to this that exceeds this dimension. Foundering is only annihilation but the possible beginning of a process in which Being is revealed and in which a movement towards infinite can be made.

The main objective of this work is to investigate the influence of culture on entrepreneurship rate of failure. Using a correlational approach, 40 countries out of Hofstede (2001) IBM employees database and the Entrepreneurship Data present on the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) database. The analysis results suggest that the dimension Individualism vs. Collectivism as the only significant cultural dimension when discussing affecting entrepreneurship rate of failure. / Apesar de Empreendedorismo e Cultura serem tópicos com extensa literatura na área de estudos de Administração de Empresas, existe relativamente pouca pesquisa na influencia que a Cultura exerce no Empreendedorismo. O principal objetivo deste trabalho é investigar a influencia da cultura no índice de fracasso do empreendedorismo. Através de uma abordagem de correlação, utilizando 40 países da database do Hofstede (2001) de trabalhadores da IBM e dados presentes na database do Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM). Os resultados desta análise sugerem que Individualismo VS. Coletivismo é a única dimensão cultural significativa quando se discute os efeitos da cultura no índice de fracasso do Empreendedorismo.
