Claw Machine : Bachelors thesis in mechatronics / Klomaskin

A simple idea can have many different construction solutions and a claw machine is a good machine to try different solutions on. The goal of this thesis was to find out how a claw machine could be created as simple as possible and finding out which parts that were essential in constructing the machine. The claw machine’s shell was built using a laser cutter and details were 3D-printed. With 4 metal rods and two stepper motors the claw machine gantry worked properly. Finally a 3D-printed claw was made and attached to a servo motor and a stepper motor, a functional claw machine had been constructed. The conclusions of this thesis was that stop-sensors were not necessary in the making of the machine as the motors can’t move the claw further than to the edges and risk damaging the machine, step counting with proper belts is an alternative. Further conclusions was that 3D-printed bearings creates too much friction and therefore the gantry can’t operate, and using a fixed timing belt instead of a movable one is to prefer. / En enkel idé kan ha många olika konstruktionslösningar, en klomaskin är ett exempel på en sådan idé som kan fungera som ett exempel att pröva olika konstruktionslösningar på. Målet med det här kandidatexamensarbetet var att undersöka hur en klomaskin kan uppnå sin funktion genom att ta reda på vilka komponenter som är viktigast för att konstruera maskinen. Klomaskinens skal laserskärdes och detaljdelar 3D-printades. Med 4 metallstänger och stegmotorer så fungerade klomaskinens ställning. Slutligen så var klomaskinen konstruerad. Slutsatser av det här kandidatexamensarbetet var att stoppsensorer inte var nödvändiga eftersom motorerna inte kunde föra klon längre än i det begränsade området och riskera att skada maskinen, stegräkning är ett alternativ med kuggremmar som inte slirar. Andra slutsatser var att 3D-utskrivna lager resulterade i mycket friktion och därmed en mekanism som inte fungerade och att använda en fix kuggrem är att föredra över en rörlig.

The content of this thesis is the description the various component of the linear feed axis, which are used in heavy duty machine tools. This describes their features, advantages and disadvantages and on these basics, are selected different appropriate design variants. In the second part of this thesis has been drawn up constructional design of these variants. They were subsequently compared and then was chosen the most ideal one for the designed machine, which is heavy machine tool upper gantry type. The work also includes the 3D CAD model of the final version and drawing documentation.

Utilisation des modèles NTCP et de carcinogenèse pour les choix balistiques et de particules en hadronthérapie de l'adulte et de l'enfant

Certains problèmes scientifiques et techniques, imparfaitement résolus dans la mise en œuvre des traitements par ions légers ont été étudiés. La thèse développe successivement les trois approches suivantes :<br />1) La première partie de cette thèse travaille sur la définition de l'équipement (faisceaux fixes versus gantry) pour un centre de traitement et ainsi traiter la plus large variété possible de tumeurs pour un spectre élargi de situations cliniques caractéristiques chez l'adulte. Les tumeurs étudiées sont des tumeurs de la base du crâne, du rachis cervical haut, bronchiques, ganglionnaires thoraciques, ganglionnaires abdominales et de la prostate, l'on obtient ainsi un éventail assez large d'indications thérapeutiques. <br />2) La seconde partie met à contribution une partie des outils développés dans la première phase (traitement chez l'adulte). Le même design de salle de traitement est utilisé mais pour un ensemble de tumeurs intracrâniennes de la base du crâne et de la sphère ORL chez l'enfant et l'adulte jeune. <br />Il peut être conclu que l'étude de multiples situations anatomo-pathologiques en thérapie protons n'a pas permis de dégager d'incidences faisceaulogiques originales et particulières à la gantry. <br />3) La dernière phase donne lieu à l'étude des caractéristiques physiques propres aux faisceaux d'ions carbones. Une comparaison est menée sur la base de simulations de données par l'utilisation de modèles de calcul du risque d'induction néoplasique après traitement chez l'adulte et plus spécifiquement chez l'enfant. La simulation semble indiquer que les ions carbones induiraient un phénomène de stérilisation cellulaire à doses intermédiaires & hautes dans les tissus & organes chez l'adulte et l'enfant.

Matematické modelování pomocí diferenciálních rovnic / Mathematical modelling with differential equations

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na problematiku nelineárních diferenciálních rovnic. Obsahuje věty důležité k určení chování nelineárního systému pouze za pomoci zlinearizovaného systému, což je následně ukázáno na rovnici matematického kyvadla. Dále se práce zabývá problematikou diferenciálních rovnic se zpoždéním. Pomocí těchto rovnic je možné přesněji popsat některé reálné systémy, především systémy, ve kterých se vyskytují časové prodlevy. Zpoždění ale komplikuje řešitelnost těchto rovnic, což je ukázáno na zjednodušené rovnici portálového jeřábu. Následně je zkoumána oscilace lineární rovnice s nekonstantním zpožděním a nalezení podmínek pro koeficienty rovnice zaručující oscilačnost každého řešení.

Subsequently, the input parameters are designed on the basis of market analysis and in the last part there is a calculation report, the design of the milling machine itself and a short economic evaluation.

This thesis describes the methods and procedures used in designing production lines, focusing on the production line for machining of train wheels. The thesis also describes the basic types of railway wheels, their design and important design elements. It also deals with the complete manufacturing process of train wheel from material selection through the technological processes of forming, heat treatment, mechanical tests, machining and non-destructive testing and measuring. Suitable equipment for the construction of automatic lines for machining, inspection and measurement of train wheels is selected according to the specified parameters of the wheel types, manufacturing productivity and production shop dimensions, These devices include vertical machining center, single-purpose machine for grease outlet drilling, device for ultrasonic inspection, magnetic particle inspecton device, measuring station and train wheel balancing machine. Several variants of the production line including detailed specification of manipulation cycle times is created. These variants are mutually compared and evaluated to find the optimal solution.
