Vycházíme-li z lehčených přírodních materiálů, lze od porézních materiálů s gradientem porozity očekávat mechanické vlastnosti nadřazené konvenčím polymerním pěnám, a to díky jejich specifické architektuře. Tyto vlastnosti umožňují použití lehčených materiálů jako strukturních prvků. V této práci je popsaná příprava gradientních porézních materiálů pomocí laminování a/nebo 3D tisku. Provedeny byly statické a dynamické mechanické testy na obou kvazi homogenních a gradientně porézních pěnách poskytující experimentální podklad pro hypotézu deformační odezvy plynoucí ze strukturní architektury. Data se interpretovala užitím zavedených teoretických modelů. Naše výsledky vedly k závěru, že tyto teoretické modely odvozené od pěn s pravidelnou strukturou není vhodné aplikovat pro pěny s gradientem porozity, protože prokazují podstatně lepší mechanické vlastnosti než homogenně porézní pěny.

The effect of bedding errors on the accuracy of plate load testsBarnard, Hendrik Francois Taljaard January 2013 (has links)
A series of plate load tests were conducted at the experimental farm of the University of
Pretoria. The test areas were levelled by means of three surface preparation methods namely,
i) a thin layer of plaster of Paris; ii) a thin layer of well-graded sand and iii) by using only
hand tools. In addition, a modified plate load test was designed to eliminate the effect of
bedding errors that occur during these tests. Telescopic probes were used to measure the
relative displacement at two points below the centre of the plate. The main objective of this
research project was to first quantify the bedding errors that occur during plate load tests.
Secondly, to evaluate the three different surface preparation methods used in plate load tests
to achieve a levelled and smooth test surface, and lastly to evaluate the effectiveness of using
telescopic probes in routine plate load tests to eliminate the effects of bedding errors. The
stiffness values, determined from the vertical displacement of the plate, were compared with
the internal stiffness values determined by means of the telescopic probes. All stiffness values
were compared with continuous surface wave (CSW) measurements performed on the same
material. The test apparatus, methods and results are discussed in this dissertation.

Computational Ideal Theory in Finitely Generated Extension RingsApel, Joachim 15 July 2019 (has links)
One of the most general extensions of Buchberger's theory of Gröbner bases is the concept of graded structures due to Robbiano and Mora. But in order to obtain algorithmic solutions for the computation of Göbner bases it needs additional computability assumptions. In this paper we introduce natural graded structures of finitely generated extension rings and present subclasses of such structures which allow uniform algorithmic solutions of the basic problems in the associated graded ring and, hence, of the computation of Gröbner bases with respect to the graded structure. Among the considered rings there are many of the known generalizations. But, in addition, a wide class of rings appears first time in the context of algorithmic Gröbner basis computations. Finally, we discuss which conditions could be changed in order to find further effective Gröbner structures and it will turn out that the most interesting constructive instances of graded structures are covered by our results.

Reading English literature can help learners of English as a foreign language (EFL) to develop their reading ability as well as other language skills. Reading can also have other benefits for EFL students such as learning about the target language’s culture or an English variety in written form. This present study investigates what types of literature are used in Swedish upper secondary school, the EFL teachers’ attitudes towards short stories compared to simplified novels/graded readers and their preferred assessment methods associated with literature teaching. The majority of the teachers that took part in this survey have a positive attitude towards short stories and use them in their EFL classes. The results also show that after the students have completed reading a short story, most of the teachers that participated in this survey preferred to combine examination methods such as a group discussion with a written test.The title of this paper comes from one of the informants’ comments when asked if she would rather use a short story or a graded reader in her English class. This informant had used graded readers in her English language classroom, but she and everyone that took part in this survey chose short stories over graded readers.

Fotografování sluneční koróny patří mezi nejobtížnější úlohy astrofotografie a zároveň je jednou z klíčových metod pro studium koróny. Tato práce přináší ucelený souhrn metod pro pozorování sluneční koróny pomocí snímků. Práce obsahuje nutnou matematickou teorii, postup pro zpracování snímků a souhrn adaptivních filtrů pro vizualizaci koronálních struktur v digitálních obrazech. Dále přináší návrh nových metod určených především pro obrazy s vyšším obsahem šumu, než je běžné u obrazů bílé koróny pořízených během úplných zatmění Slunce, např. pro obrazy pořízené pomocí úzkopásmových filtrů. Fourier normalizing-radial-graded filter, který byl navržen v rámci této práce, je založen na aproximaci hodnot pixelů a jejich variability pomocí trigonometrických polynomů s využitím dalších vlastností obrazu.
