Syfte och frågeställningar Uppsatsens syfte var att undersöka hur läromedelsböcker framställer hälsa. De frågor som ställs i denna uppsats är: Hur gestalts hälsa i läromedelsböckerna? Vilka perspektiv på hälsa lyfts fram? Metod Tre (3) stycken läromedelsböcker, skrivna utefter LGR/LGY 11, analyserades utifrån kritisk diskursanalys. De identifierade diskurserna och perspektiven sorterades in och analyserades sedan med utgångspunkt från Antonovskys teori om hälsa, men också utifrån Quennerstedts vidareutveckling av begreppen, salutogent och patogent hälsoperspektiv. Resultat Böckerna ansågs alla ha, och även förmedla, en patogen syn på hälsa vilket även var den dominerande synen. Vissa böcker hade även inslag av salutogena ansatser. De tydligaste diskurserna som framkom i böckerna var stressdiskurs samt fysisk aktivitetsdiskurs. Detta kan ge ensidig bild av böckernas innehåll. Slutsats De diskurser som framträder tydligast är stressdiskursen kopplat till psykisk hälsa samt fysisk aktivitet/motionsdiskursen. De perspektiv på hälsa som framträder i böckerna var salutogenes och patogenes, varvid det dominerande perspektivet var patogenes. För undervisande lärare så är det av relevans att denne bör granska det material som används, och lyfta fram alternativa synsätt och diskutera där möjlighet finns. / Aim This study set out to investigate how printed curriculum teaching materials depict health. The research questions are as follows: How is health described in the books? What perspectives on health do the books convey? Method Three (3) printed curriculum teaching books, based on the latest syllabus LGR/LGY11, were analysed from a critical discourse perspective. The identified discourses and perspectives were sorted, and then analysed using Antonovsky's health theory, but also Quennerstedt's elaboration on salutogenic and pathogenic health perspectives. Results All of the books were considered to retain, and convey, a pathogenic view on health. Some of the books displayed salutogenic approaches as well. The most conspicuous discourses appearing in the books were the stress-discourse and the physical activity-discourse. This may convey a one-sided picture of the books' content. Conclusions The most noticeable discourses appearing are the stress-discourse connected to psychological health and the physical activity-discourse. Regarding the perspectives on health, both salutogenic and pathogenic views appear where the dominating perspective is pathogenic. This is of relevance for practicing teachers, as they should scrutinise the materials used and provide different aspects and discussions where possible.
