<p>This thesis has been made in cooperation with the forestry machinery producerEco-Log in Söderhamn. The focus of the thesis has been to find a cheaper wayto open the large engine hood of the company’s harvesters. The goal was tofind a solution that could increase the value for the customers by being saferand simpler to use, or, at the least, keep these values at an equal level comparedto the previous solution.In order to make it possible to CE-mark the new solution, it was importantMachinery Directive that came into effect from the beginning of 2010.To begin with, a specification of requirements was set up. Thereafter, anumber of different basic concepts was retrieved and evaluated. The chosenconcept was to use electro-mechanical actuators for the opening of the largeengine hood. A market research was made, where a number of differentactuators were chosen. Thereafter, a program that found possible placementsfor them was designed. Some of the alternatives were test assembled in theCAD-model of the machine, which gave information for a meeting with theEco-Log engineering team, where one final concept was to be chosen.The chosen concept was based on using an actuator from the manufacturerLinak with the stroke of 400 mm that was to be placed in a horizontal positiondirectly under the hood. To ensure that the hinges would be able to resist thenew pressure, a new hinge concept was developed. All parts of the finishedoverall concept were stress tested with FEM-analysis to detect any problems.The mounting brackets on the tank bow and in the hood were created in 8mm sheet metal. To endure the surface pressure in the mounting hole on thebracket, the mounting plates will be manufactured in steel with a yield point of500-650 MPa.The actuator is manoeuvred by a spring centre rocker switch. To be able toaccess emergency manual operation the actuator will be mounted in a 30degree angle.To sum up, the final solution was cheaper, safer and easier to assemble.</p>

Utveckling och dimensionering av ett fäste till en mobil tvättanläggning / Development and dimension of an Attachment for a Mobile Laundry Platform

Professionella tvättmaskiner ger upphov till dynamiska krafter som uppstår vid centrifugering. När dessa maskiner används på en släpvagn kan dessa stora krafter skada underlaget. För att undvika skador på släpvagnens underlag så är det viktigt att fördela och dämpa dessa krafter. Genom att konstruera ett fäste som innehåller något dämpningselement kan man dämpa och fördela dessa krafter. På uppdrag av Linneuniversitetet i Växjö och med samlad information från företaget Electorlux Wascator i Ljungby genomfördes detta arbete. Arbetets syfte är att få fram en fungerande produkt som säkerställer användningen av tvättmaskiner på en släpvagn utan att underlaget tar skada. Med hjälp av produktutvecklingsprocessen utvecklades ett fäste som har som en uppgift att fördela de stora krafterna som uppstår vid centrifugering. Fästet består av två balkar, varje balk består av två L-profiler som är ihopkopplade med en fackverkskonstruktion. Fästet är gjort av aluminium som har beteckningen SS6082 T6. Fyra stycken gummidämpare valdes för att sitta under varje infästningspunkt från tvättmaskinen till fästet.

Framtagning av beräkningsmall för rullaxlar / Calculation model for reel shafts

Möjligheter att förbättra Hofpartner ABs beräkningsmall för rullaxlar har undersökts. Undersökningen har fokuserat på användarvänlighet, ekonomi samt hållfasthet. Målet var att göra mallen mer lättanvänd. Nuvarande mall undersöks med resultat att den är väldigt svår att följa samt att dess värden inte överensstämmer särskilt bra med verkligheten i de flesta avseenden. Arbetet koncentreras därmed på att identifiera de existerande problemen och att åtgärda dem. Mallens funktioner utvärderas och beslut fattas om att reducera mallen till att endast hantera information som regelbundet används av företaget. Genom att minska mängden data ses möjligheter att göra mallen enklare att följa och mer lättanvänd med mindre krav på förkunskaper. Nya formler för hållfasthetsberäkningar framställs och implementeras i en nyskapad mall. Formlerna kontrolleras med analyser i FEM. Analyserna visar att de nya beräkningarna ger resultat närmare verkligheten. Kostnadsberäkningarna har konstruerats som en grund till Hofpartner att bygga vidare på. Formler är implementerade men en undersökning av företagets produktion krävs för att uppnå korrekta resultat. Undersökningen behöver utföras för att kartlägga tidsåtgång för företagets produktion, arbetet har endast lett till uppskattningar. Om undersökningen utförs har Hofpartner möjlighet att åstadkomma mycket rimliga resultat i mallen. / In this project the possibilities to improve Hofpartner AB's calculation model for reel shafts has been investigated. The investigation has focused on user friendliness, economy and strength calculations. The goal was to make the model easier to use. An investigation of the current model shows that it is difficult to follow the calculations and that the results in most cases are not particularly accurate. Thus the work is focused on identifying the existing problems and improving on them. Several of the functions in the model are removed and the model now only handles information that are used with some regularity. By reducing the amount of data covered by the model possibilities is seen to simplify usage and to reduce the amount of necessary prior knowledge. New formulas for the strength calculations are presented and implemented in a new model. The formulas are verified by analysis with FEM. The analysis shows that the model is providing results close to the real values. The economical calculations are constructed as a basis for Hofpartner to continue developing. The necessary formulas are implemented but an investigation of the company's production process is necessary to achieve correct results. The newly constructed model mostly contains estimates of costs related to production time and material. If these estimates are updated with correct values Hofpartner has the possibility to achieve very reasonable results in their model.

Dimensionering av ett verktygslöst profilsystem för solpaneler / Dimensioning of a tool free profile system for solar panels

Arbetet dimensionerar ett panelsystem för att motstå yttre påfrestningar som snö och vind, samtidigt som att det ska erbjuda oförstörande av- och påmontering. Hållfasthetsberäkningar har utförts med hjälp av statiska balkfall. Dimensionering av spår, snäppfunktion och låsningar i profilsystemet har utförts. Konstruktionsritningar har utförts, baserade på dimensionering och standarder. Med hjälp av detta arbete går det att tillverka detta system, åtminstone i ett prototypstadie. / This work dimensions a panel system to withstand external loads such as snow and wind, while it will offer non-destructive removing and assembly. Strength calculations have been performed using static beam cases. The design of the track, the snap-fit assembly and locks in the profile system has been changed. Construction drawings have been made, based on the calculated dimensions and required ISO-standards. With the existing work, it is possible to manufacture this system, at least in a prototype stage.
