Evaluation of an Energy System for multi-family houses with Combination of Exhaust Air Heat Pump and PV : Case Study: Demonstration Building of The EU Energy Matching Project, Sweden-LudvikaAzad, Mohammad January 2018 (has links)
This thesis investigated application of the heat recovery ventilation using an exhaust air heat pump and a roof top photovoltaic (PV) system for a group of three multi-family houses located in Ludvika, Sunnansjö. The buildings in the existing condition have mechanical ventilation and a centralized heating system consists of a pellet boiler as the main source and an oil boiler as back up. Exhaust air heat pump (EAHP) has been known by the previous relevant researches as an effective solution to promote the energy efficiency in the buildings. Furthermore, reduction in PV cost has made the PV as a financially viable option to be contributed in supplying electricity demand. In this respect, this thesis aimed to calculate the potential of energy saving in the case study using the combination of EAHP and PV. For this purpose, the buildings and the proposed energy system were simulated to enable the comparison of energy demand before and after the renovation. The simulation was gradually progressed through several phases and each stage created the prerequisites of the next. Since the buildings were relatively similar in terms of boundary conditions, one of the buildings were initially modeled and the concluded space heating (SH) demand was extrapolated to the three buildings scope. The simulation of the building was done using 3dimensional thermal model offered by Trnsys3d. The primary results were also calibrated against the available annual fuel consumption data. In the second phase, a pre-developed TRNSYS model of the energy system was completed using the result of previous step as the total SH demand as well as the estimated domestic hot water (DHW) consumption from a stochastic model. This simulation produced the electricity demand profile of the heat pump when the heat pump provided the total heat demand. Subsequently, the electricity consumption of the flats and operational equipment were estimated using stochastic model and available monthly measurement, respectively. Since the feasibility and optimal placement of 74 𝑘𝑊 PV modules offered for these buildings had been already examined by the author in another study, the final simulation were performed in an hourly basis considering PV production and total electricity demand; i.e. EAHP, flats consumption and operational equipment. The results of the simulation showed that 21 % of total electricity demand during a year could be supplied by the proposed PV system even without any electrical storage, whereas 74 % of total yearly PV production is consumed by the local loads. The results also proved that removing old inefficient oil boiler and supplementing the pellet boiler with the combination of EAHP and PV could mitigate the annual purchased energy (including electricity and pellet) by approximately 40 % compared to the current condition.

Teplárenské sítě / Piping systems for district heatingMalach, Tomáš January 2018 (has links)
In the first part of master thesis is presented general introduction to district heating system (DHS) and hydraulic calculation for DHS. The next part deals with analysis operation of DHS and the pressure diagram for certain time interval. Subsequently, the thermohydraulic characteristics for the hydraulic main branch (comparing manual calculation with software calculation) and also the selected thermal and hydraulic characteristics for the whole DHS are shown. The last part is focused on the determination of the amount of heat supplied based on the ultrasonic flowmeter and the temperature probes. Subsequently, the computer simulation is also carried out, aiming at approximating the real heat supply from heat source to solved thermal network in winter.

Návrh zařízení pro úpravu mikroklimatu v rekonstruovaném rodinném domě / Design of an HVAC system in a retrofitted family houseVacenovský, Jan January 2018 (has links)
This work is devoted to the design of a microclimate facility in a family house. The first part contains analysis of thermal losses before and after using thermal insulation. Based on this analysis, a heating system is proposed, including the necessary technical calculations for the operation of the system. As a heat source, a condensing boiler is selected. At the next point, the thesis focuses on the calculation of the heat gains in selected rooms in order to design a cooling device. A multisplit system is selected for cooling the rooms. In the next part the thesis deals with the design of forced ventilation of selected rooms. The ventilation system provides the necessary air exchange and covers heat losses through ventilation. At the end of the thesis is outlined the concept of regulation of individual systems and also the requirements for individual professions are described.

Systémové řešení pro energetické využití zdravotnických odpadů / Systematic approach for medical waste-to-energy processingHanus, Jan January 2019 (has links)
This master thesis deals with the current situation of medical waste management in the Czech Republic and available medical waste treatment methods. The first part summarises the legislation of waste treatment and contains an analysis of the current situation of medical waste management in the Czech Republic and comparison to the situation in the European Union. The second part describes medical waste treatment methods and following technologies for energy utilization when thermal treatment method is applied. In the main part of this thesis, a complex medical waste-to-energy system in a model region is designed according to the input data. The design includes description of the collecting and transportation system of the waste, capacity of the unit and suitable thermal treatment and heat utilization technology choice. A calculation model is created for the proposed unit and based on this model, an analysis on energy utilization effectivity is made. As a result of the thesis, environmental, technical and economical assessment is created based on the estimation of the investment and operating costs.

Tepelné čerpadlo napájené z fotovoltaického systému / Heat Pump Supplied from Photovoltaic SystemKaděra, Jan January 2020 (has links)
This thesis provides heat pump usage in heating mode, heating of potable water or cooling mode. The heat pump is connected with photovoltaic power plant. The main aim of this study is to create photovoltaic system connected with heat pump and present the results of an energetic and economic evaluation. The theoretical part describes principle function heat pumps, photovoltaic power plants and components. The study provides as well a description of heating systems with a heat pump used for space heating or cooling. In the practical part of this thesis was performed calculation of energy consumption in a building. Based on this data, has been selected a suitable heat pump. To reduce the energy consumption was designed a hybrid photovoltaic power plant with a battery accumulation. Utilization of electric energy from photovoltaic system was calculated. Solutions provide the option of the energy flow analysis in specific interval. Results are summarized in the energetic and economic evaluation. The proposed solution can be applied for reconstruction or construction of a new building, focused on usage of renewable resources and emissions reduction.

Rekonstrukce vytápění v rodinném domě / Retrofit of heating system in a family houseDoležel, Pavel January 2020 (has links)
The master’s thesis deals with the solid-fuel fired furnaces, complying with the new emission legislation, and their application in central heating. The introductory part of the thesis focuses on the theory of solid fuels combustion, pertinent legislation, and various designs of solid-fuel fired furnaces. The main part of the thesis deals with the design of a central heating system for a townhouse with a solid-fuel fired furnace as the primary heat source for central heating. A roof-mounted PV system was considered for solar-assisted domestic hot water heating. The energy performance of the house was evaluated with the use of the degree-day method and also with a detailed computer simulation in TRNSYS. As an appendix, the thesis includes the detailed engineering calculations and the engineering drawings and diagrams of the central heating system.

Dodávka energie pro skleníkovou produkci / Energy supply for greenhouse productionNajbrtová, Zuzana January 2021 (has links)
The import of the vegetable has prevailed in the long run over the own production. In connection with this reality and increasing demand for the food with higher quality the production greenhouse is more often built. The providing heat, cold and electricity for the year-round operation is related to the construction and working of these objects. The theoretical part of this theses describes possible ways how to cover energy consumption for the model greenhouse in Kožichovice, Třebíč region. The heat losses and the year-round heat consumption were stated for the selected model and compared with the exact values from Kožichovice. The following method of energy supply was selected based on the calculated energy consumption - the separate cogeneration unit, cooperation of several cogeneration units, a biogas station, a heat pump and central heating system. These methods of energy supply were subjected to technical and economical comparison.
