The research had as the main guide the realization of a religious Catholic festival which happens once a year in devotion to Saint Ane, Holy Mother of Conception and San Sebastian. This festival involves a group of field workers who lives in a village from the XVII century and it presents as a central problem the legitimacy of this territory. This festival became a symbolic reference that calls attention to identity which helps the community in the construction of its social representations. It is a dynamic and a very important happening to this community. / A presente dissertação propõe apresentar algumas reflexões acerca do campo religioso, de campesinato, de território e festas, tendo como instrumento analítico uma pesquisa etnográfica desenvolvida na comunidade de Capela de Sant Ana do Rio do Peixe -Goiás- Brasil. A pesquisa teve como viés a realização de uma festa religiosa católica, que acontece anualmente, em devoção a Sant Ana, N.Srª. da Conceição e São Sebastião, que mobiliza um grupo camponês, residente numa localidade setecentista, apresentando como problema central a legitimidade territorial. A festa, deste modo, tornou-se um referencial simbólico com apelo identitário, com o qual a comunidade constrói suas representações sociais, sendo, assim, um acontecimento dinâmico e imprescindível para o grupo.
