Stranická disciplína poslanců ruské Státní dumy po obnově smíšeného volebního systému / The Party Discipline of the State Duma Deputies after the Mixed-Member Electoral System Renewal

Vřešťálová, Dominika January 2020 (has links)
The study examines the level of party voting discipline displayed by current Russian deputies. The objective is to discover whether deputies elected since the reintroduction of the mixed-member electoral system in 2016 showed a diverse level of party voting discipline. The study expands on the existing research and verifies results of earlier analysis proving weaker party discipline among politicians elected from single-member districts (SMDs). A sample of over 500 thousand deputy votes is analyzed with multiple regression analysis and other methods of quantitative research. The research explores the influence of several variables including the type of elections, political faction membership, double candidacy of a deputy and his incumbency in the previous term of office. Evaluation of results implies that the type of elections does not have a significant impact on party discipline of deputies. The most noticeable is the impact of the membership in various political factions. Greater independence in voting typical for SMD deputies does not manifest considerably in Russia because of the impact of the local hybrid regime and because the majority of SMD deputies belong to the faction of United Russia. Members of a faction with such importance tend to be less motivated to vote against their political...

Kolarczyková, Eva January 2013 (has links)
Election and removal of members of the governing and supervisory boards of a joint stock company from a com- parative perspective The diploma thesis deals with the ways of the appointment and removal of the members of the governing and supervisory boards of a joint stock company in the Czech Republic and in Great Britain. It focuses on three main areas: the appointment, removal and the eligibility of members of the governing and supervisory boards of a joint stock company. The aim of the thesis is not only to describe the Czech and British legal provisions on these topics, but also to compare and evaluate them. Within the scope apart from other things it attempts to answer these questions: whether the new Czech Companies Act which will come into force on the 1st January 2014 has been influenced to some extent by the British Companies Act 2006 or whether British pattern did not offer any inducement to any change. The thesis consists of seven chapters. The first three chapters analyse legislation of the Czech Republic. They describe legal provisions of the cur- rent Commercial Code and compare them with the provisions of the new Companies Act and the new Civil Code. The next three chapters describe British law. The last chapter compares and evaluates legislations of both states. The first chapter...

Elektronická demokracie a její možnosti v ČR / Electronic democracy and its potential in the Czech Republic

Bejdák, Radek January 2011 (has links)
The diploma thesis examines new phenomena of electronic democracy which is becoming more popular with the internet expansion. The thesis summarizes existing research in the field of electronic democracy from a view of forms that could be or are taken. The aim of this summarization is to show that new transformational changes affecting our society do not automatically implicate a shift towards direct democracy. Using theoretical summarization a state of the art of electronic democracy in the Czech Republic is described. Importance is given to an analysis of contemporary evolving tools and initiatives which were developed from two directions - top-down and a bottom up. A part of this analysis is an assessment of important factors that are stimulating a development of electronic participation - freedom of information right, internet penetration and computer literacy.
