Syfte: Syftet med studien är att undersöka vilka förpackningsrelaterade attribut som utgör en tilltalande vitaminförpackning. Metod: Studien lutar sig på en kvalitativ metod och för att få fram material som svarar på syftet har intervjuer med åtta stycken respondenter genomförts. Slutsats: De slutsatser som dragits är att mellanstora rundade förpackningar medskruv/”plopp”-lock föredras samt att blått och grönt är attraktiva färger för vitaminförpackningar. Tydlig, både innehålls- och utformningsmässig, information är även av stor vikt. / Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate which packaging attributesthat make an appealing vitamin package Method: The study uses a qualitative method and eight in-depth interviews withconsumers have been made in order to gain knowledge about the subject. Conclusion: The conclusions that have been made are that rounded medium sizedpackages with screw cap or “plop-lids” are preferred and that the colours blue andgreen are attractive when it comes to vitamin packages. Distinct informationpresented in a clear manner is also important.

It is important, for companies operating on a homogeneous product market, to understand and adapt to customer needs. Since coffee is a homogeneous product in food retail it is vital for coffee companies to work extensively with differentiation and the fierce competition. The prevailing homogenity makes it difficult for companies to develop the product itself and must therefore work to create added value to the product. The purpose of this thesis is to carry out a study on consumer decision-making when purchasing homogeneous products, and to examine how companies work to strengthen their brand and gain market share in a homogeneous product market. The market that this thesis highlights is the coffee market. To answer the purpose of this thesis the writers have conducted a questionnaire survey regarding consumers’ decision-making process and interviewed two marketing managers for two major actors on the coffee market. The results of the survey show that the availability and the price are key factors for consumers when choosing coffee, and the generated responses from the interviews emphasize the importance of working with strengthening a brand and finding an identity for the product.

Navigating the Sea of Sameness : Exploring Product Differentiation Strategies within the Swedish Nicotine Pouch MarketKrusell, Ida January 2023 (has links)
In light of the exponential growth of the nicotine pouch industry, major tobacco-industry players have shown increasing interest in newer nicotine and tobacco products, despite the lack of discernible differences them. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the differentiation strategies of companies within the Swedish nicotine pouch market, and further, the long-term competitiveness of these strategies. The study has applied an abductive and qualitative method to interpret non-numerical data of 14 companies through a document analysis, complemented by two semi-structured interviews. Empirical findings have been analysed using a conceptual model based on previous theories and research on product differentiation. The thesis identified five traditional, alongside three industry-specific modes of differentiation apparent within the market. Primarily, companies differentiate through branding and marketing, adaptiveness, health advocacy and sustainable branding. Interestingly, besides flavour innovation, technology and innovation-driven differentiation is less common within the industry. Most strategies identified within the market are, however, easily imitable, and therefore not competitive long- term. Ultimately, findings suggest the industry is at a crossroads: Consumers currently hold a significant amount of power with a variety of options and little to nothing swaying them in one direction or the other.
