The diploma thesis concentrates on the topic of trademarks in the context of the economic competition. The first part of the thesis is devoted to the general perspective on the trademarks and to the national and international legislation regulating the usage of trademarks. The second part of the thesis analyses the function and usage the trademarks in the context of the economic competition. The thesis is divided into 6 chapters. The first chapter focuses on the definition of the institute of a trademark and on its position in the system of intellectual property law. In addition, it provides an insight into the primary sources related to trademarks including the legislative norms and case-law. Moreover, the first chapter contains also a typological and functional classification of the trademarks and outlines the absolute and relative reasons for refusal to register a trademark and therefore for the denial to provide legal protection of this institute. Transfer of delictual liability in competition law The issue of delictual liability for anti-competitive practices and subsequent identification of party which is to be penalized for them is, with regard to effective protection of competition, a crucial one. However, it is also a topic which is, with a few notable exceptions, often addressed only superficially. This work therefore aims to perform thorough analysis of rules applicable to transfer of delictual liability both on European and Czech national level. For this purpose, it is divided into two major and comparatively separate parts. First of them is devoted to a detailed analysis of the European court of justice case-law related to the possibility of transfer of liability from the original infringer to a different legal entity. The aim is not only to identify particular criteria, which may affect such transfer of liability, but also to illustrate the direction in which the case-law of the European court of justice evolved and in which it is probable to continue heading in the future. The housing prices in Prague had risen by more than 63% between 2002 and 2008. However since August 2008, when they reached their peak, they have been almost constantly falling. Most of the publications regarding housing prices are taking into account Prague as one of the Czech regions. On the contrary, this work analyzes housing prices in Prague and its 22 districts. In first part of this work the indicators of rent-to-price ratio, price-to-income ratio and new building development factors are considered to explain possible future development of housing prices. This is seemed to continue falling during the year 2011. The second analytical part tries to explain the housing prices according to specific locality features and macroeconomic aspects. The panel regression is used and it reveals that the most significant attributes are the macroeconomic features.

The master thesis examines the development of competitiveness in Germany and Italy in the context of common currency and outlines the implications of this development. The theoretical part focuses on the perception of competitiveness on national level and the impact of the Economic and Monetary Union membership on the economies and their competitiveness in general. Subsequently, the most commonly observed indicators concerning national competitiveness from a narrower and broader point of view are introduced. In the practical part, broader economic and historical context is presented, followed by an assessment of the competitiveness of both economies on the basis of selected indicators: unit labour costs, the labour market situation, productivity, export performance and structure, nominal and real exchange rate developments and current account developments. The final part analyses the development of competitiveness according to the multi-criteria assessments of the World Economic Forum and the International Institute for Management Development.

The knowledge of foreign languages has always been inseparable part of education and a part of spiritual wealth of every human being. At present, it also becomes one of the conditions for employment and success of university graduates on labour market, the precondition of which is a correctly assembled curriculum of a foreign specialized language both in its cultivation and qualification part. The goal of this dissertation is to on the one hand examine significant features of our presence which have influence on cultivation component of curriculum in particular, and examining the requirements of practice which determine its qualification component. From the synthesis of conclusions of both parts, we formulate recommendations for assembling specialized foreign language curriculum for universities of economic focus on a specific case of the curriculum of specialized German at University of Economics, Prague. We define the notion curriculum in theoretical part and we deal with curriculum from synchronic and diachronic aspect. Hermeneutical approach examines its social determinants. Furthermore we deal with current problem of special methodologies, which touch upon the addressed problem: methodology of tertiary education, methodology of foreign languages, methodology of German and methodology of specialized German. In conclusion of the theoretical part, space is devoted to language policy in Czech and European context and we summarize current state of solution of our research problem. In the research part, we deal with the qualification part of curriculum by means of empirical research of University of Economics, Prague graduates focused on the analysis of current demands of labour market on the knowledge of and the comparison of these requirements with the existing curriculum of German at University of Economics, Prague. It has been verified in the research whether the level of graduates´ knowledge for practice is sufficient and gives them competitive value on the labour market, what activities they do in German, how they reflect their studies of German at University of Economics, Prague and what their suggestions to curriculum, which would better respect their educational needs, are. Conclusions of the research are compared with the existing curriculum as it is depicted in graduate´s profile, as well as syllabuses of individual subjects and textbooks which are used in tuition at present. We derive from both of the steps that the nature of changes in curriculum is legitimate. Concrete suggestions for the innovation of curriculum where we take the findings of theoretical and research part into account follow the research part.

V práci je provedena analýza hospodářské politiky vlády amerického prezidenta v 80. letech. Především se jedná o nastínění změny směru vedení hospodářské politiky z dříve prosazované keynesiánské na novou politiku teoreticky podporovanou monetarismem a školou strany nabídky. Analýza hospodářské politiky jednoho z nejvýznamnějších amerických prezidentů by nemohla být provedena bez toho, aniž by nebyla blíže vysvětlena Reaganova osobnost, jeho přesvědčení a schopnost zrealizovat konkrétní politické kroky. Ekonomické oživení v první polovině 80. let bylo zapříčiněno výraznou daňovou reformou a podporou strany nabídky. Stejně tak, jako Reagan oživil ekonomiku, povzbudil v Američanech národní hrdost a to především fiskální podporou sektoru národní obrany. Umění vládnout Ronalda Reagana bylo jednou z hlavních příčin ukončení studené války a vzniku samostatných států ve střední a východní Evropě.

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá Velkou hospodářskou krizí, která proběhla v letech 1929 až 1933/4. Světově proslulá deprese se projevila již v roce 1929 a prohlubovala se až do roku 1933, ve kterém dosáhla nejnižšího bodu v hospodářském cyklu. Jejími charakteristickými rysy byla deflační tendence, nezaměstnanost, snižování reálného produktu. Velká část československého obyvatelstva trpěla vysokou nezaměstnaností, ti šťastnější polozaměstnaností a nemožností si najít práci novou, zejména zemědělskému dělnictvu se snižovaly reálné mzdy a navíc zemědělské výrobky prodávali za stále se snižující ceny, v důsledku čehož žili na pokraji chudoby. Nepříznivá situace byla i v oblasti podnikání, zvyšovala se úroková míra a v průmyslovém odvětví docházelo zejména ke snižování množství vyrobené produkce. Krize zasáhla rovněž komerční banky a nepříznivý vývoj zaznamenávaly nejrůznější makroekonomické ukazatele. Práce obsahuje tři kapitoly, první kapitola popisuje průběh krize v Československu ve sféře zemědělské, průmyslové, situaci komerčních bank a monetární politiku, krizovou situaci v zaměstnanosti a průběh deprese v národním hospodářství jako celku. Druhá kapitola popisuje a analyzuje způsoby léčby krize a jejich důsledky. Tato kapitola obsahuje některé navrhované neuskutečněné způsoby léčby deprese a obsahuje jejich porovnání. Třetí kapitola je věnována pohledům a teoriím ekonomů.

Práce se věnuje problematice investičních pobídek. Cílem je zhodnocení poskytovaných investičních pobídek v České republice se zaměřením na jejich významnost pro různé druhy investic podle jejich technologické náročnosti a také vlivu politiky na jejich poskytování. V první části práce jsou vymezeny přímé zahraniční investice a investiční pobídky. Druhá část je věnována přehledu vývoje přílivu PZI a přehledu udělených investičních pobídek. Počty udělených pobídek jsou pak porovnány s rozdělením oborů na technologicky náročné a méně náročné. V poslední části se snažím vyhodnotit jednak souvislost pobídek a politických faktorů a dále jestli jsou investiční pobídky opravdu tak významné pro všechny druhy investic a pro všechny investory s důrazem na technologickou náročnost a také vliv poskytnutí pobídek na ostatní podniky v ekonomice.

Diplomová práce se soustředí na pravidla hospodářské soutěže Evropské Unie. Popisuji jednotlivé oblasti hospodářské soutěže a sice kartelové dohody, zneužití dominantního postavení, fúze a státní podpory. Zabývá se také rolí Evropské Komise a úřadů pro hospodářskou soutěž členskách států. Shrnuje změny pravidel nastolené v poslední době, především související s rozšířením EU.

This paper focuses on the effects of the investment incentives in the Ustí nad Labem region and its conclusions should contribute to an objectively evaluation of the use of this economic-policy instrument in the Czech Republic. The greatest attention is paid to the calculation of the fiscal effects of the investment incentives and to the estimation of the actual number of the newly created jobs in the region. As well this, the paper attempt to analyze the effects of the investment incentives on employment and unemployment in this region. The introduction of this paper deals with the investment incentives in general and summarises their accomplishments and their weaknesses from the theoretical point of view.
