An important role in the global economy certainly plays international trade. Removing barriers to international trade contributes to better competitiveness and economic growth. This paper is focused on foreign merchandise trade of the European Union countries towards third countries (ie. excluding intra-trade).The aim of this paper is to identify important features of the development of foreign merchandise trade of the European Union in 2010 in the context of economic crisis in the years 2007 - 2009, to determine the potential effects of merchandise trade on solution of the consequences of the crisis and also provide an outline of the economic competitiveness of the European Union and prospects of the future development of EU foreign merchandise trade. The method of work comprises the analysis of statistical data linked to considerations arising from the current social, economic and political development.

Daňové příjmy obcí v době hospodářské krize / Tax revenues of municipalities in times of economic crisis

The thesis looks at tax income development in selected municipalities during economic crisis, that started at the and of 2008. The selected municipalities are Karlova Studánka, Dobrá and cities Bílovec and Opava. The thesis takes into account proposed changes in tax assignment, which have not yet been approved by parliament. The proposed change is expected to increase income of municipalities from shared taxes. The first two chapters contain general description of municipality financing and development of tax assignment since the formation of czech tax system. Third chapter focuses on the impact of the financial crisis on the local and regional governments of European countries. Fourth chapter contains analysis of local and property taxes development in selected municipalities focused on crisis years. Last chapter provides a calculation of tax income from shared taxes for selected municipalities according to proposed model of tax assignment.

This diploma thesis based on the latest statistical data analyses the impact of the economic crisis on key macro-characteristics of European tourism (contribution to GDP, employment, attendance). The development of these indicators compares within the European area. Subsequently, deals with the specific impacts and different defensive strategies at European level, national level and the level of private entities. These strategies compare, assess their common and different characters and is further analysed from the perspective of the utilization of general recommendations of international organisations and the EU. Evaluate the effectiveness of the selected strategies and draw up recommendations for minimizing consequences of the crisis for tourism.

The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the territorial differentiation of the European Union and selected member countries. In this context I observe the differences in major socio-economic indicators (in GDP per capita and employment rates) across the European Union and in more detail in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Furthermore, I focus on explaining the development and the current setting of EU regional policy at EU level and the CR. The thesis is structured into three main chapters. The first chapter focuses on assessing the economic, social and regional differentiation of the Member States and EU regions. The second chapter is devoted to the analysis of regional structure and differentiation of the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The final chapter covers the development and current form of regional and structural policy of the European Union.

This thesis focuses on two of the biggest economic crisis that hit the world over the past hundred years. Because both crises have several common and different features, the main aim of this work to compare the results of analyzes of both the crisis in terms of identifying their similarities and differences. The main goal is the specifics of disability trends and macroeconomic contexts of monetary and fiscal policy in the crisis decades. The empirical part of this thesis is focused on the economy of the United States of America. In the methodological approach to monitor and analyze financial and economic crisis is distinguished from several time levels. This is an analysis of the same features and heterogeneities of the business cycle in the pre-crisis, crisis and post-crisis period.

The Abstract The main purpose of my thesis is to make summary of conventional and unconventional livestock and their importace to man. My thesis brings in survey of the most significant kinds of breeds and their economic exploitation. A separate section is devoted to Czech breeding of essential kinds of livestock in reference to their conditions and animal production capacity. Out of unconventional groups of livestock, the attention is devoted to birds from out superorder runners. The importace of meat in man's nutrition is widely discussed. As a part of thesis, a public inquiry was compiled and analysed. It was interpreted on samples of students and workers of educational institutions. The inquiry discovers the influence of respondents'demografic field and other circumstances upon meat consummation. As a suplement to the biology education at primary and secondary schools, a CD- ROM is made containing questions to systematic zoology of birds from among superorder runners. Trademarks and their practical use in economic competition The aim of my thesis is to highlight both the possibility of practical use of trademarks in economic competition and the problems associated with use of the trademarks. The thesis is divided into five main chapters. . The first chapter defines which label may or may not become a trade mark and also describes the registration procedure. In this charter I also point to the current conservative approach concerning sound and smell trademarks and try to suggest a possible future legislation, because in my view the trade mark law is constantly evolving and it is necessary to adapt it to the future market needs. This issue is discussed from the national, european and international point of view. The following chapters concentrate on particular ways of use of trademarks in economic competition. The emphasis is placed mainly on two areas - license agreement and protection against unfair competition. The license agreement is currently the most common means by which the industrial rights are transferred. For this reason I try to outline possible problems arising from a conclusion of a license agreement and from its duration; with reference to the current legislation. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the financial performance of SMEs in the Czech and Slovak Republic in the years 2003-2012. Slovak economy is from all EU Member States historically and structurally most similar to the Czech one. The year 2004 was crucial for both countries and also characteristic because of accession to the European Union. Both countries before 2009 had been using their own currency, but Slovakia separated from this direction and joined the euro area. This period is associated with unpleasant events in the world and therefore the economic crisis. The Czech Republic has committed to join the European Union to become a part of the Eurozone. The regression analysis used in empirical part of thesis provides the results of impact of the crisis on SMEs, especially for two observed countries to be able to compare development in the Czech Republic with the development of Slovakia, who entered this period with a common European currency.
