This MA thesis is focused on discovering the literary motif of journey in selected works defined by Australia. These works also share the interest in shaping Australian identity. A socio-historical background of colonisation and the first settlement in Australia is provided and the key terms of cultural anthropology are further elaborated on. The thesis depicts traditional Aboriginal culture and focuses especially on its earthbound philosophy. Special attention is paid to the differences among various literary approaches towards the subject matter, to the application of cultural anthropology findings, to the depiction of clashes between different cultures and possibilities of their reconciliation. Furthermore, the works of selected authors are closely characterised from the point of view of their degree of authenticity and the genre specifics. This diploma thesis focuses on the issue of public life on Royal Vineyards in the period of 1880 - 1922. First of all, particular factors that form the image (character, identity) of Royal Vineyards as czech, healthy, modern and independent city with historical tradition, inhabited mainly by middle class population, are analysed. Further more the thesis is discussing czech public life on Vineyards. By the term public life is here meant an analysis of the formation and appearance of vineyard public spaces and cultural facilities and their importance for residents of Vineyards. Thesis is looking into the function of these spaces as a meeting place for various occasions (eg. holding of festivities, place of associational life, leisure activities). In other chapters german and jewish minorities are closer analyzed. Here the thesis focuses on the character of public life of these communities and their coexistence with Czechs. Examined is, among others, the question which aspects that shape the character of Vineards are the particular groups of residents identified with and which of them they considered as their own and how they have symolically inhabited them. 9.2 Abstract In this Master's thesis we have attempted to interpret Émile Ajar's novel La Vie devant soi using knowledge based on the psychoanalytic theory of trans-generational transmission. This theory assumes that a person who has been the victim of a traumatic experience cannot consciously refer to it, either through embarrassment or due to the fact that the trauma cannot be referred to verbally. However, he or she can refer to such traumas subconsciously in hints or symbols, precisely because expressing traumas, or their symbolisation in words, is the most effective therapy. If the trauma is not erased, it is transferred further trans-generationally. We consider Émile Ajar's La Vie devant soi to be a suitable work for applying the above- mentioned theory, not only due to the extraordinary life story of the author, but also as concerns the novel itself. Émile Ajar is a pseudonym of the well-known author Romain Gary (born Roman Kacew) who created the character of Émile Ajar in order to write freely regardless of what was expected of Gary as an established author and moreover, a well-known supporter of de Gaulle. The thesis "Spirituality in the Drama of Tom Murphy" analyses three of Tom Murphy's plays of his mature period of the late 1970s and early 1980s in which the playwright explores the metaphysical question of the existence of God in contemporary post- lapsarian world. The main aim of the thesis is to elucidate how Murphy dramatically engages with the inherited Christian tradition and to analyse the spiritual quests for transcendence of his characters, stemming from a state of "metaphysical homelessness". Its overall claim is that these quests take place outside the realms of an institutionalized religion and that at its end the divine manifests itself through the human. The works examined are The Sanctuary Lamp, The Gigli Concert and Bailegangaire, all of which demonstrate a profound engagement with faith. Devoting a separate chapter to each, the thesis examines and compares, how Murphy dramatizes the "common human need for belief" of his characters, despite their urge to defy God at the same time. The thesis focuses on two plays and one poetry collection by Federico García Lorca; El público, Así que pasen cinco an͂ os and Poeta en Nueva York, which together form the New York cycle and represent a new and unique phase in his compositions both from the point of view of content and form. The thesis concentrates on several distinctive motifs and themes related to the problem of human identity; ie the motifs and themes which discuss how to understand the individual or the human existence. This topic is reflected in the cultural context of Lorca's age, demonstrating that the atmosphere of the era corresponded with the author's personal perspective. The interpretation of human existence is strongly determined by the moment of death, therefore, the representation of death in the works and the related motifs are discussed in the thesis. At the same time, the similarity of Lorca's perspective with the philosophical ideas of the era is taken into consideration, with the emphasis on the philosophy of Martin Heidegger. In this context, we also focus on the author's relation to Christianity and the use of the Christian motifs in his plays and poems. Title: The proposal of improving the adidas company promotion in partner fitness centers Objective: Aim of the diploma thesis is implementation in marketing communication for partner fitness centers of adidas company. The thema is based on situational analysis of the company and marketing custommer behavior research. These phases are the starting point for proposals of implementation of existing communicational channels which is focused on utilization of particular comumnicational channels and designing new possibilities of marketing communication supporting adidas corporate identity. Methods: Marketing research 1.qualitative method - in-depth interview 2.quantitative method - questionnaire SWOT analysis Results: The research results show that adidas is among the top sporting goods producer in fitness. In spite adidas fights for its target customers primarily with American rival Nike. It is necessary that adidas maintain competitiveness in the field of fitness, even though currently does not put sufficient funds, as in the other key categories. This can be achieved by the intensive use of inexpensive communication channels. This thesis deals with analysis of development of Chinese views on the origins of Chinese culture and statehood in view of archaeological research between the years 1940 and 1980. The analysis is based on information provided by popularizing media, specifically Chinese newspapers and high school textbooks, which are paired with archaeological overview from specialized publications written in English, Czech and Chinese language. Thesis consists of three parts. Firstly, it outlines development in archeology during four decades and the impact of nonacademic influence on scientific work. It serves as theoretical reference frame for the following analysis of Chinese sources. The second chapter deals with reflection of archaeological research in articles of the People's Daily newspapers. How are the archaeological findings valued by society, how does state ideology impacts on their research and it is related to that what are the geographical tendencies. Terminology and biased manner of expression in articles are also included to analysis. The third chapter consists of the study of views on the history of Chinese antiquity in textbooks. This diploma thesis focuses on the visual presentation of the Department of Physical Education Faculty of Education of the Charles University. Its aim is to analyse the current situation in the unified visual style of the department and propose improvement through a new graphic manual. The theoretical part contains information about the Department and its functioning, about cooperation with the university sports club and about the presentation of the department at various events. The theoretical part explains the background issues of the corporate identity and corporate image and shows how the selected departments at the Charles University in Prague and other Czech universities visually present themselves. The practical part analyses students, graduates, teachers' and the management's opinion of the work and visual appearance of the Department of Physical Education. And the key points of the presentation of the department in the graphic manual are summed and presented here. The knowledge acquired from this thesis and its output are primarily intended for employees of the department and people who will help with the graphical presentation of the department. Secondly, other departments that are planning to create their own visual style can get inspired by this work's models.

- Typology of rural space in the Pilsen Region and evaluation of soft factors of the development Presented diploma thesis deals with an important theme of rural differentiation. The goal is to create a typology of rural space within the Pilsen Region by potential of the development using quantitative data and then verify the typology by qualitative research of soft factors. The verification consists firstly in research of perception and regional identity of rural regions from the point of view of actors involved in rural development within the Pilsen Region and secondly in evaluation of appearance of chosen rural municipalities to observe the differences of each type. Theoretical part is focused on issues of differentiation of space, institutional theories with accent on application in the rural areas and rural development issues. Analytical part consists of created typology using component and cluster analysis. Further it presents the results of analysis of perception and regional identity of rural regions using method of semi-structured interviews and results of analysis of appearance of municipalities using standardized observation. The outcome is a compact typology created by combination of quantitative and qualitative data with suggestions of specific development possibilities of each type....

The aim of the work is to present Argentinian literary tradition as reflected in the Jorge Luis Borges' essays and collections of poems from his early creative period (twentieth and thirtieth of 20th century). The corpus of the analyzed works is created by three collections of poems - Passion for Buenos Aires, Moon across the Way, San Martin Copybook and three books of essays - Evaristo Carriego, The Size of My Hope and The language of the Argentines. At the beginning, the text is focused on Argentinian (respectively on Hispanoamerican) cultural context at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. Then, the text continues by analysis of six Borges' books mentioned above reflecting five most important Argentinian motives - pampa, gaucho, compadrito, Buenos Aires and its suburbs and dictator. The author notices different attitudes to Argentinian topic and concludes that Argentina symbolizes very important theme, which is influenced also by Borges' predecessors (e. g.
