Kulturní a náboženská identita Tibeťanů a tibetských komunit rozvíjející se mimo historické území Tibetu / The Development of Tibetan Cultural and Religious Identity among Tibetans Living outside of Historical Tibet

Pavlátová, Andrea January 2010 (has links)
The Development of Tibetan Cultural and Religious Identity among Tibetans Living outside of Historical Tibet The topic of my thesis was to find out changes in Tibetan society inside Tibet and in Tibetan exile in last 50. years and how do changes help to progress social capital. Inside Tibet is problem with high percent of nonliterary and high percent of incoming Han people, which cause that Tibetan people are getting on the edge of society, because they didn't have developed their human potential. The main problem is that Tibetan people don't know Chinese language well and this language is becoming more useful for daily life in Tibetan autonomous region. Tibetans, who are very religious, don't have opportunity to practice Tibetan Buddhism under communistic rule of Chine. Tibetans have to renounce His Holiness dalajlama and deny part of their Tibetan identity. Those reasons influence them to escape into exile. The second part of my thesis is concerned to describe push and pull factors of migration. As I found in materials, the main reasons to escape into exile were political, religion, education, economical problems and renounce dalajlama. In my research, Tibetan didn't divide those reasons to those categories, because they think of those problems in holistic way. The last part of thesis in...

Vliv turbofolku na formování a modifikaci identity v diasporálních komunitách původem z bývalé Jugoslávie na příkladu postjugoslávských komunit v Rakousku / The Influence of Turbofolk on Modification of Identity In the Diasporal Communities from Former Yugoslavia - example of Post-Yugoslav Communities in Austria

Šťastná, Petra January 2015 (has links)
The thesis is concentrated on a research based on turbofolk music in diaspora from the former Yugoslav countries. When speaking about turbofolk, the term can be explained as a type of popular music combined with folk elements. It originates in the former Yugoslav countries, but similar pop-folk genres can be found in other European and non- European countries as well. People with immigration background living in diaspora can possess different types of relations towards this type of music than their counterparts in the ex-Yugoslav countries. Especially, certain common tendencies can be observed among the diaspora youth cosuming turbofolk. This work will primarily give answers to the basic questions including attitudes towards turbofolk in the ex-Yugoslav diaspora. It will describe turbofolk scene in the diaspora and show its extensiveness. In particular it will be focused on the Austrian case (concerning practising turbofolk etc.). Nevertheless, it will also investigate contemporary tendencies in identification with turbofolk. Key words turbofolk, diaspora, Yugoslavia, identity, Austria

Poppová, Anna January 2016 (has links)
The aim of this dissertation is to answer this question: what is the reason of folklore groups in Prague to reproduce and engage in the Moravian folklore. Apart from Moravians, Prague's native-born inhabitants also participate in these ensembles; which is possible to be considered as a specific phenomenon. This occurrence demands clarification. The main question is what the factors which influence the individual's interest in folklore are. Specifically what are the mechanisms of transmission of interest in this activity and what are the reasons why individuals are constantly devoted to folklore for a long period of time. The empirical part is devoted to these research questions. It tries to address these issues by the means of interviews with 13 respondents from a Prague's folklore ensemble. The theoretical part of the dissertation presents the base for the research questions. For example, it pursues the concept of socialization, identity or the contexts and functions of folklore in the contemporary society.

Title: Alevis in the Federal Republic of Germany Today Author: Klára Pinerová Department: Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Arts, Institute of Near Eastern and African Studies Supervisor: prof. PhDr. Luboš Kropáček, CSc. Alevis supported Atatürk's policy of secularization after World War I. The first President of the Republic of Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, selected elements of Alevi culture with which to construct a new Turkish national identity. Although it appeared that the Alevi identity would dissolve and transform into a single Turkish one, in connection with changed religious policy in the 1980s, the Alevi religious movement instead began to internally mobilize and renew their cultural and religious identity. This was true not only for the Alevi movement in Turkey but also in Germany. Alevis managed to organize and create interconnected networks of organizations across Germany, Turkey and throughout Europe during the last twenty years demonstrate a confident public presence. Alevis in Germany emphasize that they are part of German society, not strangers. They established numerous clubs and organizations representative of the Alevi movement in the struggle for recognition of their rights as a religious group in Germany and in Turkey. They have integrated Alevi religious instruction...

Identita v biografickém vyprávění. Případ slovenských Romů z prostředí českého maloměsta. / Identity in biographical narrative: The case of Slovak Roms in a Czech town.

Dienstbierová, Kristina January 2011 (has links)
Anotation Most available studies dedicated to the identity of Roms fail to give a sutisfactory reply to some questions given by the social reality. The reason why lies in the fact that they explore the Romany identity based on culture and culture border studies. This work based on the biographical research is mapping the identity of Roms from the point of view of the participants themselves and their experience. It is focused on factors playing an imortant role when creating and reproducing the Romany identity and when giving meanings to it by its bearers themselves. The work shows that even the absence of any shared culture and social relations in the frame of the broader community it is possible to consider an etnic Romany category since it is is presented as the category not only by the Roms themselves, but by the majority society, which has a real impact on everyday live of each individual who is classified as a Rom.
