En kvalitativ studie av tre idrottslärare har genomförts i avsikt att undersöka om idrottslärarens idrottsliga erfarenheter går att urskilja genom val av innehåll, upplägg och genomförande av idrottslektion, vilka tankar idrottsläraren har kring varför ämnet ser ut som det gör samt vilka faktorer som eventuellt kan påverka det. Data till denna studie samlades in med hjälp av observationer och intervjuer. Observationerna och intervjuerna analyserades initialt oberoende av varandra för att därefter jämföras och avgöra om något samband gick att finna. Jämförelsen visade att det går att utläsa mönster som pekar på en viss idrottslig bakgrund genom observationer utifrån valda teorier samt att lärarnas agerande på lektionerna och tankar kring hur de tror sig många gånger skiljer sig åt. Gemensamma normer och värderingar kring idrottande och det faktum att idrottslärarutbildningen bygger på desamma samt idrottsrörelsens starka inflytande på ämnet idrott och hälsa är starkt bidragande faktorer till att den idrottsliga erfarenheten tillåts påverka idrottslärarna. / A qualitative study of three physical education teachers has been implemented in order to examine if the physical education teacher’s sporting experience can be discerned by the selection of content, structure and implementation, what thoughts the physical education teachers have on why the subject looks like it does and what factors might affect the subject. Data for this study were collected through observations and interviews. The observations and interviews were analyzed initially independently and then compared to determine whether a link could be found. The comparison showed that there can be discerned patterns that indicate a particular sporting background from observations through selected theories. It also showed that, how the teachers conduct the lessons and thoughts on how they think they do, often differ. Common norms and values around sport and the fact that the physical education teacher education is based on the same norms and values and the sports movement's strong influence on the school subject physical education and health are major contributing factors to that the sporting experience are allowed to influence the teachers.
