Implicitně konstitutované tekutiny a jejich proudění v komplikovaných geometriích / Implicitly constituted fluids and their flows in complicated geometries

Janečka, Adam January 2018 (has links)
We study behavior of incompressible non-Newtonian fluids with a relation be- tween the shear stress and the shear rate given by a non-monotone S-shaped curve. These fluids are described with a special class of implicit constitutive relations that may be derived in a thermodynamically consistent manner us- ing the entropy production maximization principle or gradient dynamics. In the latter approach, the constitutive relation is given as the derivative of a non-convex dissipation potential. The concept of dissipation potential allows us to discuss stability of the constitutive relation and explain the experimen- tally observed response discontinuities. We are also concerned with hydrody- namic stability of flows of implicitly constituted fluids. Finally, we propose a numerical scheme for simulation of transient flows of fluids with a specific non-monotone constitutive relation. We employ the numerical scheme in a simulation of two-dimensional Taylor-Couette flow and the numerical results confirm our theoretical observations concerning the admissible flow states.

Emoční paradox schizofrenního okruhu / The emotion-paradox in schizophrenia spectrum disporders

Keřková, Barbora January 2019 (has links)
THE EMOTION-PARADOX 1 Abstract The emotion-paradox in schizophrenia describes a dissociation between the grossly impaired perception of emotion and relatively preserved experience thereof. Most posit that the emotion-paradox arises from a generalized emotion perception impairment. Others counter that it represents an artefact of methodological restrictions or a separate dissociation between explicit and implicit emotion. This thesis aimed to explain the emotion-paradox in schizophrenia and resolve the competing interpretations of its root. Two studies were conducted to this end. The studies drew from the same sample, including 45 persons with schizophrenia of various symptomatology, and 45 controls with no psychiatric anamnesis or familial history of schizophrenia. The groups did not differ in age, gender, education or music education. In Study 1, the participants listened to musical stimuli and rated their perception and experience of the valence and arousal that these stimuli relayed. In Study 2, the participants completed a newly developed emotional Stroop task, in which they identified the colour of a series of neutral and negative descriptors of positive, negative, or no symptoms of schizophrenia. Findings of Study 1 indicated: a) that persons with schizophrenia recognize musical emotions as accurately...

Za devatero horami. K teorii literatury pro děti a mládež / In a Land Far, Far Away. Theorizing Attempts at Children's and Youth Literature

Segi Lukavská, Jana January 2015 (has links)
The diploma thesis introduces critically selected theoretical concepts that try to describe characteristics of children's and youth literature (further: LPDM). It focuses on approx. last thirty years of foreign research in LPDM. Firstly, the attention is paid to theories analyzing LPDM for specific qualities of appropriate texts. Then, the thesis presents theories which primarily describe LPDM on the base of specific context: the context in which the works emerged and are (expertly and non-expertly) received. Finally, the diploma thesis concerns with the potential benefit of presented theories but also with their problematic parts. By that it tries to offer new tools of productive analysis and interpretation of LPDM to Czech discourse of literary science.

Extenzivní čtení. Pozice a praxe využívání adaptované literatury na Pražských gymnáziích a postoj studentů ke konkrétnímu programu / Extensive reading. Position and Practices of Using Graded Readers in Prague Grammar Schools and Students' Attitudes to a Particular Programme

Fridrich, Pavel January 2014 (has links)
This diploma thesis Extensive reading - Position and Practices of Using Graded Readers in Prague Grammar schools and Students' Attitudes to a Particular Programme presents the phenomenon of extensive reading. It looks into its history, theoretical grounding, the existing body of empirical research, graded readers and benefits for English language teaching and learning. The analytical part gives reasons for the contrast between the great potential of extensive reading for the student's improvement on the one hand, and the implementation which has been infrequent and often at odds with the principles on the other. To find the reasons, the theoretical part analysed the situation of the English language teaching in countries which had implemented extensive reading into the curriculum. In the research part it assesses the scale and the practices of using graded readers in all relevant grammar schools in Prague. In the second part of the survey of grammar schools, it focuses on a grammar school in Mělník, which has been systematically using GRs. It examines the students' attitudes towards the practices of reading GRs in order to assess the potential and the limits of the European Union financed project I read, you read, we read. Key words: Extensive reading, Methodology of English Teaching, Implicit...

Efektivní spotřební zdanění a struktura výnosů v nových a v původních členských zemích EU / Effective taxation of consumption and revenue structure of the old and the new EU member states

Vágnerová, Klára January 2010 (has links)
The diploma thesis is focused on the comparison of effective taxation of consumption and structure of tax revenues between new and old member states of the European Union. Two predetermined hypotheses were tested in the comparison analysis. Hypothesis I.: New Member States have less effective taxation of consumption than the old ones Hypothesis II.: Revenues from taxes on consumption in the New Member states is different from the yields in the old Member States.Three indicators were tested gradually: implicit tax rate, share of taxes on consumption to gross domestic product and share of taxes on consumption to total taxation. The aim of the thesis was to confirm or to refute predetermined hypotheses and to discuss results of the analysis. In this analysis was used the method Comparison of two means.

Oscilace mechanických systémů s implicitními konstitutivními vztahy / Oscillations in mechanical systems with implicit constitutive relations.

Babováková, Jana January 2012 (has links)
We study a system of differential-algebraic equations, describing motions of a mass-spring-dashpot oscillator by three different forms of implicit constitu- tive relations. For some problems with fully implicit but linear constitutive laws for combined force, we find conditions for solution stability. Assuming monotone relationship between the displacement, velocity and the respective forces, we prove global existence of the solutions. For a linear spring and a dashpot with maximal monotone relationship between the damping force and the velocity, we prove the global existence and uniqueness result. We also solve this problem numerically for Coulomb-like damping term.

Analýza lékových problémů potenciálně vedoucích k hospitalizaci u geriatrických pacientů / The analysis of drug-related problems potentially leading to hospitalization among geriatric patients

Očovská, Zuzana January 2018 (has links)
Candidate: Zuzana Očovská1 Supervisor: prof. RNDr. Jiří Vlček, CSc.1 Consultant: PharmDr. Martina Maříková2 1 Department Social and Clinical Pharmacy, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, Charles University 2 University Hospital Hradec Králové, Hospital Pharmacy, Head of the Division of Clinical Pharmacy Title of the master thesis: The analysis of drug-related problems potentially leading to hospitalization among geriatric patients Hospital admissions due to drug-related problems (DRPs) represent a relevant clinical issue with significant economic consequences. Polypharmacy and age-related pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic changes make elderly patients particularly prone to develop DRP. The aim of the theoretical part of this thesis was to introduce the issue of drug-related problems and to outline the results of previous studies concerning drug-related hospitalizations among geriatric patients. The aim of the practical part was to determine the prevalence of DRP potentially leading to hospitalization and to identify the most common medication classes involved in these DRPs. Over the period of six months 200 admissions to geriatric ward of III. Internal Gerontometabolic Clinic of University Hospital Hradec Králové have been retrospectively evaluated in order to determine whether the...

Zdvořilostní strategie v písemných žádostech zahraničních studentů / Politeness strategies in foreign students' written requests

Hermanová, Andrea January 2018 (has links)
i Abstract The MA thesis examines the politeness strategies which native speakers and non-native speakers of English employ in written English requests addressed to the faculty. The requests represent by nature the category of Face threatening acts and require a certain level of politeness. The account of politeness is based on the Face management theoretical framework by Brown and Levinson (1987). The empirical part compares on-record (positive and negative) and o↵-record politeness strategies and the level of directness (Blum-Kulka, 1987) comprised in two hundred email messages sent by students of British and Irish, German, and French nationality. The analysis discovered that the nationality/native language is to some extent a determinative feature in the choice of politeness strategies, while the gender of the student influences the level of directness of the request. The Appendix contains the full sample of examined emails. Keywords politeness theory, face management, request, on- record politeness (negative and positive), o↵-record politeness, directness of request
