Inspired by the robustness and flexibility of biological systems, we are developing linguistic and programming tools to allow us to program spatial systems populated by vast numbers of unreliable components interconnected in unknown, irregular, and time-varying ways. We organize our computations around geometry, making the fact that our system is made up of discrete individuals implicit. Geometry allows us to specify requirements in terms of the behavior of the space occupied by the aggregate rather than the behavior of individuals, thereby decreasing complexity. So we describe the behavior of space explicitly, abstracting away the discrete nature of the components. As an example, we present the Amorphous Medium Language, which describes behavior in terms of homeostatic maintenance of constraints on nested regions of space.

Η παρούσα διπλωματική πραγματεύεται την μελέτη της ηλεκτροδότησης ενός αντλιοστασίου, καθώς και του ιδιωτικού Υ/Σ που θα έχει ο καταναλωτής από το δίκτυο ΜΤ της ΔΕΗ. Στα πρώτα κεφάλαια γίνεται μια θεωρητική προσέγγιση του προβλήματος. Ειδικότερα, παρατίθενται οι τύποι παροχής των ιδιωτικών Υ/Σ, ενώ αναλύονται τα μέσα ζεύξης και προστασίας της ΜΤ. Στη συνέχεια παρουσιάζονται τα είδη γείωσης των ιδιωτικών Υ/Σ ΜΤ-ΧΤ καθώς και οι κατηγορίες καλωδίων για την ΧΤ και την ΜΤ και τρόποι εγκατάστασης τόσο των καλωδίων ΧΤ όσο και αυτών της ΜΤ. Ακολουθεί μια περιγραφή των Μ/Τ ισχύων που χρησιμοποιούνται για την ζεύξη με το δίκτυο ΜΤ και τα μέσα προστασίας των Μ/Σ . Ταυτόχρονα αναπτύσσονται τα μέσα ζεύξης - απόζευξης και προστασίας XT αλλά και ο τρόπος λειτουργίας τους με σκοπό την αντιμετώπιση των ρευμάτων βραχυκύκλωσης που ενδεχομένως εμφανίζονται σε μια ηλεκτρική εγκατάσταση. Τέλος περιγράφονται οι πίνακες ΜΤ και ΧΤ μέσα στους οποίους τοποθετούνται τα μέσα προστασίας και ζεύξης - απόζευξης ΜΤ και ΧΤ του Υ/Σ, ενώ παράλληλα επισημαίνεται η αναγκαιότητα και τα πλεονεκτήματα της αντιστάθμισης της άεργου ισχύος και οι τρόποι επίτευξής της. Γίνεται ακόμη ιδιαίτερη αναφορά στην συντήρηση ενός Υ/Σ και στην αναγκαιότητα της. Στο 11ο κεφάλαιο έχουμε την μελέτη ενός αντλιοστασίου και ένα ένα τα βήματα που ακολουθούμε για την ολοκλήρωση της μελέτης από την επιλογή των κινητήρων , την διατομή των καλωδίων ΜΤ και ΧΤ , τις προστασίες τόσο στην ΜΤ και την ΧΤ όσο και στους κινητήρες , την επιλογή του Μ/Σ έως τον υπολογισμό των ζυγών ,τους πίνακες ΜΤ και ΧΤ και την αντιστάθμιση της άεργου ισχύος. / This thesis deals with the study of power supplying of a pump-station, as well as of a private Substation that the consumer would have, from the Medium Voltage network of DEH. In the early chapters is a theoretical approach to the problem. In particular, lists the types of provision of private M/L Voltage Substation, while analysing the connection and protection structures of MV. Then presents the types of groundings in private M/L Voltage Substations and also the categories of cables for LV and MV and ways of installation. Follows a description of power transformers used for coupling with the MV network and the protection of them. At the same time develop the means decoupling – coupling and protections at LV and their operation for dealing with potentially short-circuit currents appear in an electrical installation. Finally describes the MV and LV fields within are placed the protectιons of LV and MV coupling of the M/L Substation, while pointing out the necessity and advantages of counterbalancing the reactive power and ways of achieving it. Is a special reference to maintenance of M/L Substation and the need of it. In the 11th chapter we study a pump-station and one by one the steps to follow to complete the study from the choice of engines, the cross-section of cables LV and MV, protections both in MV, LV and engines, and the selection of suited power transformer till the calculations of bars, fields of LV and MV and counterbalancing the reactive power.

Nesta tese buscou-se compreender o papel do comércio popular em distintas áreas da cidade de Rio Claro (Rua Jacutinga, Rua 06 e Avenida M-23), para entender a dinâmica do processo de (re)produção desses espaços de comércio. O comércio sempre foi um fator determinante na produção do espaço urbano das cidades desde a sua origem, fazendo parte da sua razão de ser. Assim, partimos do pressuposto que as atividades comerciais (re)produzem novas formas urbanas e, portanto, são fundamentais para o entendimento do espaço urbano e do modo de produção da vida urbana. Destarte, procuramos nesta pesquisa, analisar o pequeno comércio popular no contexto da dinâmica comercial intraurbana das cidades médias. Para alcançar nossos objetivos realizamos as analises quantitativa e qualitativa, o primeiro momento quantitativo constitui-se na aplicação de questionários, no momento qualitativo , criou-se um roteiro de entrevistas. A articulação entre as duas formas de abordagem possibilitaram a análise e compreensão das dimensões materiais e subjetivas que fazem parte dos espaços de comércio aqui analisados. Como aporte teórica, para o desenvolvimento da análise da dinâmica e da distribuição espacial das atividades comerciais e suas estruturas no bairro e, também, para classificar o pequeno comércio popular, a Teoria dos Dois Circuitos da Economia Urbana, proposta por Milton Santos na década de 1970 para pensar o desenvolvimento econômico dos países subdesenvolvidos, tratava-se de um novo paradigma. Esta teoria se tornou importante, desde então, para os estudos de Geografia Urbana. / Research in Geography in the contemporary world seeks to reflect on the complex phenomena that involve different spaces and societies. This thesis aimed to understand the role of popular commerce in different areas of the city of Rio Claro (Rua Jacutinga, Rua 06 and Avenida M-23), in order to understand the dynamics of the (re) production of these trade spaces. Trade has always been a determining factor in the production of the urban space of cities since its origin, as part of its raison d'être. Thus, we assume that commercial activities (re) produce new urban forms and, therefore, are fundamental for the understanding of urban space and the way of production of urban life. From this, we seek in this research, to analyze the small popular commerce in the context of the intra-urban commercial dynamics of medium cities. In order to achieve our objectives, we perform quantitative and qualitative analyzes, the first quantitative moment is the application of questionnaires, at the qualitative moment, a script of interviews was created. The articulation between the two forms of approach made possible the analysis and understanding of the material and subjective dimensions that are part of the trade spaces. As a theoretical contribution, for the development of the analysis of the dynamics and spatial distribution of commercial activities and their structures in the neighborhood, and also to classify the small popular commerce, The Theory of Two Circuits of Urban Economy, proposed by Milton Santos in the decade of 1970 to think about the economic development of underdeveloped countries, it was a new paradigm. Concern for the maintenance of the Welsh language has increased since the middle years of the twentieth century and the demand for educational provision is a reflection of this. The use of education as a means to promote the status of a minority language in a bilingual community is a social phenomenon which is paralleled in other places and has considerable research interest. Minority groups often invoke the development of schools which work in the medium of their local language. Such programmes attempt to reverse language shifts which affect the status of minority groups adversely. They have a significant cultural and political dimension as the resulting schools offer a protected linguistic domain for children and young people and tend in consequence to increase the vitality of the given language. These matters have been widely researched in Wales and elsewhere, though few studies of the educational and social development of the bilingual child have considered the contribution of these programmes to the sociological status of the language concerned even though it is recognised that increased use of a minority language in natural daily communication is an effective empowerment of its users in the surrounding community. This study begins to address this omission. It examines a critical phase in the emergence of Welsh medium schools in the anglicised region of south eastern Wales between 1949 and, when the first Welsh medium schools was established in the old county of Glamorgan, and 1962, when the first secondary school was established. The establishment of the schools is discussed in relation to concurrent economic, social, and educational developments and the linguistic trends which permeated the local environment. The study considers the first stages of development in south eastern Wales which reflects aspects of a developing consciousness of the language issue which has become a significant feature of public debate some forty years later. It is noted that the movement began at a late stage of a complex historical process in the attempt to preserve the immediate family and cultural values and that it has since expanded to a wider section of the community. The eventual success of the Welsh medium school movement has contributed to subsequent changes in official and public attitudes to the Welsh language. While the political and legal changes embodied in the Welsh Language Act of 1994 lie well beyond the scope of this discussion, its argument suggests that the early phase of the schools movement embedded a factor which has contributed critically to the shaping of contemporary Welsh awareness.
