Butikschefer och medarbetares upplevelser av interninformation

För företag idag är det av stor betydelse att ha en fungerande interninformation. Syftet med denna studie var att belysa hur butikschefer och medarbetare i ett företag upplevde och definierade sin interninformation samt se hur interninformationen fungerade i nutiden och hur de eftersträvade att den borde fungera i framtiden. Målet var även att belysa vilka informationskanaler som ansågs vara mest informativa och fungerande. Elva intervjuer genomfördes och därefter analyserades data med hjälp av en induktiv tematisk analys. I studien framkom att de intervjuades upplevelse av interninformationen var positiv. Den viktigaste informationskanalen var muntlig information, vilket uppskattades av både butikschefer och medarbetare då denna kanal stimulerade till diskussion och ett möte ansikte mot ansikte som kunde förtydliga informationen. Tidsbrist och avancerade sökvägar kunde dock försvåra inhämtning av information från intranätet. Slutsatserna var att intervjupersonerna upplevde information som något viktigt inom företaget och flera uppgav att den var oerhört viktig för företagets existens. / For companies today, it is important to have functioning internal information. The purpose of this study was to illustrate how store managers and employees in a company experienced and defined their internal information, how the internal information works at present and how they wanted to obtain it in the future. Another goal was to highlight the information channels that were considered the most informative and functional. Eleven interviews were carried out and the data was analyzed using an inductive thematic analysis. The study proved that the experience of internal information was positive among the interviewees. The most important information channel was verbal information, which was appreciated by both store managers and employees. Verbal information gave the opportunity for discussions and face to face interactions that made it possible to clarify the information. The study revealed that lack of time and advanced searching paths may obstruct the collection of information. The conclusion was that the interviewees perceive information as something important within the company and several states that it was crucial for the company's existence.

Urban Residents' Perceptions About The City of Austin's Wildlands

Increasing resettlement in and around Austin, decrease in water discharge rates and loss of endangered species habitat led to the creation of the City of Austin wildlands. The study consisted of a mail survey of 1,000 residents living near the City of Austin’s Water Quality Protection Lands and Balcones Canyonland Preserve for the purpose of identifying residents’ perceptions and knowledge about the wildlands in order to provide direction for the City of Austin Wildland Division’s environmental education program. The two specific objectives were to (1) Understand factors that influence residents’ knowledge, determine if previous participation in an environmental programs increases their level of knowledge, and to ascertain the effectiveness of different information outlets for increasing residents knowledge about environmental issues pertaining to the Edwards Aquifer and City of Austin’s wildlands and (2) Identify factors that influence residents’ approval or disapproval of land management actions and the alternative recreation activities on the City of Austin’s wildlands. For objective one, it was expected that socio-demographic variables (eg: older, educated, males that live within Austin for a longer period of time) and behavioral variables (eg: previous involvement in environmental organizations), and acquisition of prior information about the wildlands would be positively associated with wildland knowledge. For objective two, it was expected that residents’ management support would be positively associated with the perception that one of the purposes of the wildlands is to protect endangered species, respondents’ positive experiences with the wildlands, pro-environmental behavior, and perceptions that the wildlands increase their property value. It was also expected that approval of wildland management actions would be positively associated with the extent to which residents have been negatively affected by wildlife and their level of concern about wildlife impacts on their property. Also, it was expected that respondents’ approval of vegetation management actions, such as the use of fire, would be negatively associated with the extent to which residents have seen smoke on the wildlands and their level of concern about wildfire. The regression analyses conducted to test the first objective showed positive associations between local newspaper readership and residents’ knowledge about environmental issues and the City of Austin’s wildlands. Previous pro-environmental behavior by residents positively related to their knowledge about environmental issues pertaining to the wildlands. Furthermore, survey respondents who were older, male, and had lived in the City of Austin for a longer time were positively associated with environmental and City of Austin’s wildland knowledge levels. Some strategies for information dissemination about the wildlands include the use of local newspapers and homeowner association newsletters. New City of Austin residents who are younger and live in close proximity to the wildlands are the suggested target audience for initiating a proposed environmental education program. The results of regression analyses conducted to address objective two showed that approval of wildland management actions were positively associated with knowledge about rangelands and negatively associated with the level of concern about being negatively impacted by management actions used by the City of Austin. Results suggest that knowledge about specific environmental benefits associated with the management actions can improve respondents’ support for management actions such as the use of prescribed fire and harvesting overpopulation of deer and hogs. The results of this study should help the City of Austin by providing (1) information about factors that influence residents’ knowledge and suggested information dissemination channels (2) descriptive information about respondents’ environmental knowledge levels, and (3) aid to improve an existing education program for the purpose of increasing support for management actions that are critical for attaining the objectives of the WQPL and BCP.

How is the information received by the employees? Finally I will make a few suggestions on how the internal communication can be improved.</p><p>Method/Material: The method used in this study is quantitative. The internal communication at IKEA Uppsala is analyzed based on the results of a questionnaire. 75 employees at three different divisions were given questions on how they appreciate the communication channels at IKEA in Uppsala. 50 answers were received.</p><p>Main results: The results clearly show that even though the internal communication at IKEA seems to work well in general, a few of the channel needs to be improved. A major difference between the channels has been observed and firstly, the internal e-mail is not used as it could be. Secondly, the Intranet is also used by very few of the respondents. However the verbal communication from the nearest manager is regarded by over 50 per cent of the respondents as very much practical indeed. School pupil's perceptions of information channel credibility

High school pupils operate in a macro (country-specific), meso (school-specific) and micro (personal) context and their information needs are always experienced in a context - sometimes as imposed school assignments or else self-generated, e.g. as everyday life information needs. Pupils source their information through various information channels and there is sometimes a perceived risk to acting on incorrect information. Compared to adults in information-intensive professions, researchers have found that pupils tend to be unconcerned about the credibility of information. Based on a literature survey, a trust model was compiled from a number of other models and adapted to serve as an information channel credibility model portraying the pupil in context with his/her perception of information channel credibility. The model was used as a framework for a study on high school pupils’ perceptions of information channel credibility and factors influencing their perceptions. The study was guided by the following research problem: How can school pupils’ perceptions of information channel credibility inform school-based interventions? In order to find answers, the following sub-questions were addressed: • What has been reported on perceptions of information credibility and information channel credibility, with specific reference to school pupils, students and adults, as well as professionals in information-intensive environments? • How can trust models guide a study of pupils’ perceptions of information channel credibility? • What factors influence school pupils’ perceptions of information channel credibility? • What school-based interventions could be recommended to address the shortcomings in the perceptions of pupils that can prepare them to meet the information requirements of adulthood? A self-administered print questionnaire was used in May 2015 to survey the perceptions of 548 South African high school pupils from three different schools covering the range of the socio-economic spectrum from wealthy through to pupils from poor, unemployed home environments. The study was conducted with grade 8 and grade 12 pupils (entry and exit grades for South African high schools) from a city in the Mpumalanga province of South Africa. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with the principals of the three schools. The results are reported as descriptive statistics supported with inferential statistics and qualitative analysis where relevant. The findings are that pupils’ perceptions of information channel credibility are affected by the perceived risk of acting on incorrect information, their previous experience and the context (i.e. type of information need, whether the need is imposed or self-generated and pupil demographics) in which the information need occurs. Pupils used a level of metacognition with regard to information channel credibility. The model proved useful to guide data collection that can guide school-based interventions. It holds potential to be further adapted to actually reflect school-based interventions. School-based interventions are suggested to encourage responsible assessment of information channel credibility, including the simulation of risk by means of mark allocation for metacognition about information channel credibility, intentional exposure of pupils to a wide range of information needs and exposure to highly credible as well as less credible information channels. / Thesis (PhD)--University of Pretoria, 2016. / Information Science / PhD / Unrestricted

These are ranked as news that cost a lot of money to make for the paper. In the paper internal and external sources get a half each. The local paper have many information channels that the public can use to tip the paper. The two channels that are used the most are e-mailing and the telephone. The front pages of the newspaper indicate very well on the material in the inside of the newspaper.
