A study of junior college libraries in Georgia

Unknown Date (has links)
Among the standards for measuring adequacy of junior colleges are those of the various regional accreditation agencies. Such standards are concerned not only with the total educational programs of the junior colleges but also with the strengths and weaknesses of their various departments. As a result, during the past half century the standards have become increasingly definite and specific with reference to junior college libraries as their potential educational effectiveness has been given increasing recognition. The present study is an evaluation of a group of junior colleges in terms of these standards. The libraries chosen for study are those of accredited junior colleges of Georgia, and the standards used are primarily those of the Southern Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools, supplemented by whatever norms for junior colleges at the national level have been derived. / Typescript. / "August, 1959." / "Submitted to the Graduate School of Florida State University in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Arts." / Advisor: Robert Clapp, Professor Directing Study. / Includes bibliographical references (leaves 89-94).
