This master's thesis focuses on visual communication of Karlovy Vary International Film Festival using social network - Instagram. The festival uses this network to communicate with spectators, which helps it create its identity and build a fan base. Theoretical part of the master's thesis describes history of Instagram as well as all the functions of this popular application. It also talks about Karlovy Vary International Film Festival and other international film festivals and their use of Instagram. The theoretical part concludes with definition of visual communication, focusing mostly on specifics of analogue, digital, and Internet photography. Using quantitative content analysis of Instagram pictures and semiotic analysis of technical and content elements, the thesis analyzes what visual style of communication the festival uses, and how the fans and media understand and transform the content. For the research purposes, the festival's Instargam profile as well as selected media and spectators' profiles were followed. The purpose of the thesis is to describe what visual language the festival organizers use on Instagram and how this language is reflected in building the identity of the festival itself.

The thesis deals with festivals and industry activities supporting the training of film professionals in the Czech Republic. It conducts a survey of the important industry platforms and engages in an example of film festival Finale Plzen and its platform Industry Days which was established in 2012. It deals with the conception of the Industry Days and their position in the Czech environment . The last part outlines the future direction of training programs for professionals.

Submitted thesis deal with geographical aspects of organization of public mass transportation in the region of Karlovy Vary. The transportation is embraced as an alternative to the individual automobile transport. First chapters are related to the aims of the thesis and to the list of used literature. The chapter {\clqq}Metodika zpracování`` attends to description of single methods, which are applied to define space aspects of mass transport in areas under examination. The following chapters attend to the transport phenomenon and evaluation of present situation of transport in the world, the European Union and the Czech Republic. Present state of mass transport in the Czech Republic is analyzed in the range of this dilemma. The following chapter attends to chosen geographical characteristics of the region of Karlovy Vary. The last chapter contains wide evaluation of organization of mass transport in the region of Karlovy Vary and incorporation of the whole inspected dilemma.

The objective of this diploma thesis is to form a business plan for a self service car wash. It analyzes the necessary resources, tests the viability, and calculates the financial performance of the project. The thesis is divided into two main parts. The first part theoretical, mainly describes the structure, requirements and purpose of a business plan, especially tools for market analysis, financial planning or financing options available for the proposed project. The second part practical, is composed of an actual business plan drawn up for a self-service car wash in Karlovy Vary.

The thesis analyses and evaluates a marketing strategy of the Grandhotel Pupp in comparison with its direct competitor, the Ambassador Grandhotel Narodni dum. The thesis focuses mainly on evaluating the online atributes of the marketing strategy including the online presentation of the hotel on all distribution channels the hotel uses. The main emphasis is put on current trends, because in marketing, these play the crucial role. First part of the thesis defines accommodation services, hospitality business specifics and specifics of marketing in hospitality. Second part evaluates the marketing techniques used on hotel s various distribution chanels. The second part then also compares all the activities used in marketing strategy of both above mentioned hotels.

This dissertation examines engagement of people with disabilities in the Czech labor market over the course of last fifteen years, period between 2000 and 2015, focusing on the Karlovy Vary region. In the first section, author briefly introduces current state of Czech social policy together with related issues, which encompass unemployment, legal stance and characteristics of disabled people within national and international settings. The broader conceptualisation is subsequently illustrated by concrete examples of disabled people support, which is currently offered in the Czech Republic according to statistical data. Furthermore, author also considers case of specific situation in the Karlovy Vary region. Second part of the research presents an analysis of respondents involved in social policy and their opinions and personal experiences in the region. In particular, local labor market, employment policy and related topics relating to advantages and disadvantages with recent changes. In conclusion, author summarises main facts and research results.

This diploma thesis describes the life and professional destiny of Professor Jan Bouzek on the background of historical situations. This Czech intellectual, thanks to his deep education and his philosophy of life, was able to prosper in the field of science while confronting the peripetials of fate in the complicated period of the second half of the 20th century in Czechoslovakia. It is a socially-historically conceived commentary biography. The second chapter consists of philosophical considerations of human action and sociological perspective. In the third chapter I describe the chosen method, the oral history and sources of the biography. The content of the most extensive, fourth chapter is a detailed biography of Jan Bouzek with historical and factual inputs. It covers all his personal and professional life, from childhood, through studies, to the beginnings of scientific work, to the achievement of scientific degrees. Historical entries refer to the breakthroughs in Czechoslovakia that Jan Bouzek experienced, Fifty Years, "Prague Spring", 1968 and subsequent normalization, conditions for traveling abroad at the time of communist totality and a break in 1989, "The Velvet Revolution. Academic paper "An Image of the Years 1948, 1953 and 1968 on Pages of the Karlovy Vary Press" analyses specific articles from newspapers that were published in Karlovy Vary. In 1948 it was newpaper called Budovatel - List Čs. sociální demokracie and Jednota - List pracujících hraničářů. In 1953 we follow newspaper Stráž míru and Karlovarský kraj. We selected several articles which we analysed and described in detail from the perspective of content and thematic focus. We are looking for answers to the questions we have established in the theoretical part. In 1948, we look for references in the texts, for example, to the expulsion of the Germans from Czechoslovakia; new settlement within the areas Germans left, or we look for references to the communist coup in February 1948. In articles from 1953, we follow the information about the deaths of J. V. Stalin and Klement Gottwald. We also look for references about monetary reform in the texts. The work aims to approach the historical environment of the Karlovy Vary region from the perspective of the above-mentioned newspapers.

The main topic of this diploma thesis is the historical-sociological analysis of spa forests in the surroundings of Carlsbad. More and more people exploit the nature, especially near human settlements. Therefore, there is a question if suburban, or in our case spa forests, wouldn't have according to the law other rights and obligations than other types of forests. The subject of the research is the analysis of the development of Carlsbad spa forests (Lázeňské lesy Karlovy Vary) during their historical development and related social development, which was reflected on the form of the spa forests. The main research initiative is human access to forests in terms of sustainable forestry and ecological balance depending on the natural and social contexts of the area around the city of Carlsbad. The diploma thesis is divided into two main parts - theoretical and empirical. In the theoretical part, through a careful analysis of the literature and research of sources, there is a historical development of forests with respect to the spa area of the city of Carlsbad. The work is focused on the recent regional history of Karlovy Vary. Trying to briefly imitate life of the Scout group between 1968 - 1989. Based on interview made with the narrators it isndescribing the activities that were the Scout section devoted. It charts the parth of an individual from the first contact with Scouting from its acceptance to life itself in the section. This work is also trying to capture the changes that took place within varios sections during the transition from formal to illegality. It Illustrates one of the possible method in which the officiallybanned organization adjusted to the normalization age.
