Příprava a charakterizace substituovaných Y ferritů ve formě keramik a tenkých vrstev / Preparation and characterization of substituted Y ferrites in the form of ceramics and thin films

Pulmannová, Dorota January 2016 (has links)
Title: Preparation and characterization of substituted Y ferrites in the form of ceramics and thin films Author: Dorota Pulmannová Department: Department of Inorganic Chemistry, Faculty of Science, Charles University in Prague Supervisor: RNDr. Daniel Nižňanský, Ph.D. Consultant: Ing. Josef Buršík, CSc. Abstract: In this work we describe a preparation and characterization of a hexagonal ferrite series with composition BaSrCoZnXFe11O22 where X=Fe, Al, Ga, In and Sc. We have prepared these ferrites in the powder and ceramic form using the citrate synthesis and in the thin film form using the chemical solution deposition method. Using the powder neutron diffraction we have found that the sample containing only Fe has collinear magnetic structure that belongs to the C2/m or C2'/m' group. Magnetic structure of the samples substituted with In and Sc is similar, but the magnetic moments of the 18hVI site atoms are not aligned parallely with the other moments. Magnetic structure of Ga-substituted sample is different, it is modulated with a propagation vector k ≈ (0, 0, 3/4). Propagation vector of the Al-substituted ferrite is k ≈ (0, 0, 3/2). Substituting elements show strong preferences for the cation sites. Al and Ga prefer the 3bVI site, Zn prefers the tetrahedral 6cIV and In and Sc prefer the 6cVI site. Room...

Příprava keramických vláken elektrostatickým zvlákňováním / Electrospinning of ceramic fibers

Nemčovský, Jakub January 2017 (has links)
This diploma thesis focuses on the fabrication of ceramic fibres by electrospinning. The theoretical part of the thesis summarizes the currently available information regarding ceramic fibres, their properties, applications and fabrication. The theoretical part also describes the process of electrospinning as one of the most frequently used methods of nanofibre fabrication, as well as the parametres influencing this process. The experimental part is aimed at the fabrication of ceramic fibres based on titania, pure non-doped zirconia and yttria-doped zirconia by electrospinning and at the characterization of thus fabricated fibres. Ceramic precursors based on propoxide and polyvinylpyrrolidone were subjected to electrospinning. The experimental part of this diploma thesis also describes the influence of precursor composition, process conditions and calcination temperature on the morphology and phase composition of the fibres. Precursors were characterized by viscosity measurements. Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), Röntgen analysis (RTG) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were used to describe the fibres. By performing electrospinning of precursors based on titanium propoxide and subsequent calcination at 500-1300 °C, TiO2 fibres with thickness of 100-2500 nm were fabricated. The phase composition changed with calcination temperature from 500 °C from anatase phase through rutile blend to pure rutile at 900 °C. By performing electrospinning of precursors based on zirconium propoxide and subsequent calcination at 550-1100 °C, 0 – 8 mol% Y2O3 doped ZrO2 fibres with thickness of 50-1000 nm were fabricated. An analysis of fibres based on non-doped ZrO2, calcined at 550 °C showed a composition of predominantly monoclinic phase. An analysis of 3 or 8 mol% Y2O3 doped ZrO2 fibres calcined at 900 °C showed a composition of predominantly tetragonal phase or purely cubic phase, respectively. With the increasing calcination temperature, the morphology of the fibres changed from porous nanostructure to chain-like non-porous structure consisting of micrometer grains of TiO2 or ZrO2. The ZrO2 fibres calcined at 700 °C remained flexible as well as the spun ones, while their fragility increased with the increase in calcination temperature.

Možnosti využití fluidních popílků v keramické technologii / Fly ash of class C for ceramic technology

Keršnerová, Lucie Unknown Date (has links)
This thesis is focused on the possibilities of the utilization of the fludized fly ash in ceramic technology, especially in the field of brick manufacturing and ceramic tiles. There were used fly ashes from thermal power plants in Hodonín, Ledvice and Tisová. Fluidized fly ash can be used for manufacturing of building materials. There hasn’t been done extensive research in this area. One of the problem is sulphur dioxide leakage during burning. The work describes the behaviour of fluidized ash during firing. The attention is focused on air pollution of sulphur dioxide. The production of SO2 is controlled so that the aim of the work is to find a way how to avoid leaking. It was proved that addition of sodium ions causes the formation of minerals hauyne and nosean during firing. Also is described the behaviour of the fly ash-soil mixtures. The anhydrite decomposition temperature is lower than in pure fly ash. In the end is fluidized ash applied for the production of dry pressed ceramic tiles. This ash can be used in ceramic technology. However, despite the interesting results there are number of problems that need to be solved.
