Michalec, Radim January 2011 (has links)
Title: Problems of the functional flatfoot Objective: The aim of this diploma thesis is problems of the functional flatfoot. Main goal is to describe relation between change of structure, disorder of foot function and development of flatfoot. The thesis tries to describe the behavior of foot and arch in standing and walking. Another goal is to summarize the diagnostic possibilities of flatfoot. Methods: The diploma thesis has descriptive-analytical character. It's written in form of literature review. Results: This thesis demonstrates the problem of disunity nomenclature concerning the problem of flatfoot. Specifically, it concerns the interpretation of the words of functional flatfoot, movement components in foot and laboratory diagnostic methods. There is offered an explanation of the concept of functional flatfoot. Further work indicated that the acquired flatfoot is a question of a functional disorder that may progress to structural changes. The static and dynamic loadings were confirmed by the role of small muscles of the foot in the role of dynamic stabilization and influence of femoral rotation on the foot arch. There were summarized methods used for the diagnosis of flatfoot including dynamic plantography. Keywords: flat foot, foot arch, kinesiology, diagnostics

Vodojemy - Brno, Žlutý kopec / Reservoirs - Brno, Zluty kopec (Yellow hill)

Tomanová, Tereza Unknown Date (has links)
The diploma thesis deals with the possible use of now defunct reservoirs on the Yellow Hill. This water supply complex consists of three underground reservoirs and a technical house. The area is spread over a large plot of land overgrown with wild vegetation in the middle of a residential area. The set of underground reservoirs, covered by a system of arches supported by pillars, represents a unique architectural and technical monument. The aim of the proposal is to make the reservoir area accessible to the public through new functions while preserving their historical value. The main motive of the concept is an interactive water museum built in the youngest reinforced concrete reservoir. The exhibition deals, among other things, with a very current topic of sustainable water management. The complex is complemented by a new visitor center, which will make it possible to access the reservoirs through a new entrance to the underground. The existing unmaintained area of greenery will be transformed into a public park independent of the operation of reservoirs.

Klenba nožní v dětském věku / Foot Arch in Childhood

Kellerová, Kateřina January 2011 (has links)
Author: Bc. Kateřina Kellerová Title: Foot Arch in Childhood Problem definition: The most often diagnosis related to the foot arch in childhood is definitely flexible flat foot also called pes planovalgus. Because of that this thesis will be mostly oriented on this diagnosis. There are many articles about flexible flat foot and many studies were oriented on this problem. The informations about etiology, influencing factors or therapy are sometimes discordant in different articles. But almost all of them contain one same statement which says that the prevalence of this diagnosis is decreasing as the foot arch is changing during the child's growth. It means in older children there is not flexible flat foot so often as in the younger ones. But there is no detailed description of the dynamics of these changes of the foot arch in childhood. Aim of this thesis: The aim of this thesis is to find out the development of the foot arch in children of pre-school age. In other words to run the survey to find out the changes of the foot arch in children of pre-school age which occurs in six months. Method: The survey contains anamnesis questionnare for parents and also these examinations: footprints, examination of joint laxity, mobility of hip joint, position of knee, patellae and heel, Jack's test, posibility...

Pes planus in children: its implications and the influencing factors on its development

Droubi, Farah January 2013 (has links)
Background Pes planus is one of the most common diagnoses in the pediatric field; flexible flat foot being the most prevalent. This developmental type of flatfoot is a normal finding in young children, seen to resolve spontaneously with growth and development and also remain asymptomatic. Despite this, there is still a large incidence of flat feet in adolescence and many cases of adult flatfeet are frequently presented as residual pediatric flatfeet. The factors that influence the prevalence of flatfeet during a child's development have also the capacity to altering its course and gaining insight on what they are and their influence aids in diagnosing, treating and preventing flat feet. Purpose The aim of this literature review was to enhance knowledge on the persistence of the flat feet condition in the pediatric population by determining the development of flat feet in children with an outline of its affect on posture and gait and identifying contributing factors that affect the incidence and progression of the deformity. Methodology An electronic database search was conducted to obtain articles from relevant journals (from early 2012 to mid 2013). Only full text English articles were obtained, with a few exceptions. Further information was collected from online textbooks and the reference lists of the...

Zesilování klenbových konstrukcí předpínáním / Strengthening of vaulted structures by prestressing

Požár, Michal Unknown Date (has links)
The topic of this Ph.D. theis is repairing and strengthening of historical wagon vaults (barrel vaults, tunnel vaults) using post tensioning with tendons (monostrands) in longitudinal direction. The vaults should be without an edge, that´s mean the baroque vaults are well appropriate for this method. The pointed barrel vault should be problematic. The stabilization is for a wagon vault created by semicircle or segment part of a circle as well as an elliptic shape. The study has been made for vault with a width of 1 m and for the prestressing force has been used one tendon only. Of course, this method could be apply for normal constructions with a width of many meters. In this case, more tendons should be use with a suitable spacing. The goal of this work was to monitor an experiment model of an wagon vault and a real strengthened baroque vault of a church in Švábenice. During the monitor time, the static Analysis has been made. For these analysis appropriate finite elements in Ansys program has been use. The results of this work is to amplify the knowledge of the real behaviour of strengthened vaults, which could be use like instruction for the civil engineers. Further the public information guide to build an appropriate model of an Vault with an interaction with post-tensioning tendons.

Dudová, Helena January 2014 (has links)
Title: Evaluation of the effect of exercise according to the Propriofoot concept and the methodology of Sensorimotor Training by Janda and Vávrová on foot pressure distribution Objectives: In this thesis the following three goals were set: First, to find out if and how does the percentual foot pressure distribution between the left and right foot in standing change after a four-week long exercise according to either the methodology of Sensorimotor training by Janda and Vávrová or the Propriofoot concept. Second, if and how will the segmental foot load change. Third, if the prospective changes of foot load will agree or differ between the two groups. Methods: A pilot study for quantitative research using experimental scientific method was conducted, with two groups consisting of ten members each, aged thirty to fifty and diagnosed with flat foot. At the beginning, all probands underwent diagnostic measurement using the "Plantograf V10" device. Then they attended a four-week long individual therapy with an exercise plan created according to one of the two methods in consideration. At the end the probands were again measured by the same device. Entrance and control measurements obtained for each participant and both groups were evaluated, compared and statistically analyzed. Results: Analysis of the...
