Španělsko-nizozemské vztahy v Novém světě v době existence West-Indische Compagnie / Spanish-Dutch relations in the New World during the existence of the West-Indische Compagnie

Kubátová, Eva January 2017 (has links)
Spanish-Dutch Relations in the New World during the Existence of the West Indische Compagnie Eva Kubátová Abstract This dissertation is dedicated to the Spanish-Dutch relations in the New World during the existence of the first Dutch West India Company (1621-1674). On base of an imagological analysis, this thesis presents elements of mutual relations, reflected in hetero-images, together with self-representation of both analyzed parties (thus self-image) within the ongoing conflict of the Eighty Years' War. The imagological analysis is applied on archival material, chiefly the Dutch pamphlets and Spanish Relaciones de sucesos (which can be translated as "Treatises of Successes"). The result of this thesis is then an analysis of development and changes of mutual images, upon the historical events of the Spanish-Dutch war conflict: thus since the beginnings of the Dutch Revolt, passing through the Twelve Years' Truce, until the signature of the Peace of Westphalia in 1648. A special emphasis is put to the final phase of the Eighty Years' War, in this thesis delimited by the years 1621-1648, which was marked by the official entrance of the West India Company into the Spanish waters of Greater Caribbean. An important watershed in mutual relations is afterwards represented by the Peace of Westphalia, which...

Experimenty s rojovou inteligencí (swarm intelligence) / Experiments with the Swarm Intelligence

Hula, Tomáš January 2008 (has links)
This work deals with the issue of swarm intelligence as a subdiscipline of artificial intelligence. It describes biological background of the dilemma briefly and presents the principles of searching paths in ant colonies as well. There is also adduced combinatorial optimization and two selected tasks are defined in detail: Travelling Salesman Problem and Quadratic Assignment Problem. The main part of this work consists of description of swarm intelligence methods for solving mentioned problems and evaluation of experiments that were made on these methods. There were tested Ant System, Ant Colony System, Hybrid Ant System and Max-Min Ant System algorithm. Within the work there were also designed and tested my own method Genetic Ant System which enriches the basic Ant System i.a. with development of unit parameters based on genetical principles. The results of described methods were compared together with the ones of classical artificial intelligence within the frame of both solved problems.

Meziválečné výstavní kolonie Werkbundu jako památka / Interwar exhibition Werkbund estates as a monument

Podholová Varyšová, Eliška January 2018 (has links)
This work addresses the history, development and conservation of the Werkbund exhibition estates in Europe. Specifically, these are six housing estates built between 1927-1932 in Stuttgart, Brno, Wroclaw, Zurich, Vienna and Prague as part of exhibitions of modern living. The aim is to compare the development in individual cities and above all their preservation and the way of conservation and restoration. The first chapter deals with the formation of colonies and their differences. In the next part we deal with the fate and the structural changes during the war and the first post-war years until the first colony was declared a monument. The third chapter explains the developments in the 1960s and early 1980s, the beginnings of monument conservation and the first comprehensive renovation of the housing estates. The last chapter focuses on today's housing estates, today's approach to the restoration of functionalist architecture and its pitfalls. In all chapters, we managed to compare the development and to show the specifics of the individual files, which made it possible to specify why the colonies need to be protected, the extent to which they are preserved today, how much they are preserved, and what problems the building regeneration brings. Due to the different status and approach in individual...

Fylogeneze krvetvorby obratlovců / Origins of vertebrate hematiopoiesis

Svoboda, Ondřej January 2015 (has links)
(ENGLISH) Hematopoiesis is dependent on the actions of hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs). This process is tightly controlled through a complex array of extrinsic and intrinsic factors. Even though the hematopoiesis seems to be well conserved across the disparate vertebrate animals, erythroid and thrombocytic differentiation have changed during the evolution of mammals. Specifically, adult mammalian red blood cells have the unique feature of being enucleated, and mammalian thrombocytes are not individual cells, but fragments of megakaryocytes, instead. It is likely that these enhancements provided a survival advantage to early mammalian species; however, they also bring up the question of evolutionary origin of these cells that studied using zebrafish (Danio rerio) model. First, it was necessary to generate a toolbox of a recombinant cytokines and optimized culture media that allowed us to manipulate zebrafish hematopoietic cells ex vivo in liquid and clonal cultures. Interestingly, teleost species underwent an extra duplication event during their evolution and as a result, two copies (paralogs) of some of the genes are present in zebrafish. This was also the case for majority of the cytokines from our toolbox and here, we provide functional characterization of these paralogs. Strikingly, our results...
